Service is comically bad. Someone will take an order, walk to the kitchen for 5 minutes, and then eventually come back to take the next order. Someone who looks like they're constantly about to fall or someone who doesn't understand what they're doing will bring out the food. Don't bother ordering online because they won't start it til you go through the insanely slow process up front. Somehow for them taking that long, your food is room temp at best when you get it. Used to you could get decent service if the main manager was there, but they changed management so it's constantly a mess. Today I went into the What-a-burger in Monroe. The dining area was open and it was nice to go in for a change. The staff there was so friendly, polite and helpful! The food was as expected and the restaurant was clean. At a time when fast food places are struggling to have enough staff and customer service is suffering in a lot of places, it wasn't like that at What-a-burger and these two people pictured are making a difference. Let me start by saying that I LOVE Whataburger. I live in San Antonio, TX and eat there way too much. Most Whataburger restaurants are a step above most any other fast food joint in cleanliness, good quality, and professionalism. That being said, this is by far the worst Whataburger I have ever been to. Place looks brand new but is filthy and EVERY employee o saw or came in contact with is very unprofessional. I walked in and all I saw were uniformed employees in front of and behind the register and sitting on the booth like they were a customer waiting for a to-go order. It one of them said a word to me until I stood right in front of the girl at the register and even then it took a second. They were talking literally about "baby momma's" and other unprofessional stuff. Good was good, sloppy but good - the I professionalism ruined the whole experience. If I could give no stars I would. There was not a single person eating inside when my group of 6 walked in so this was not a busy night. My chicken salad was messed up and when I told the guy there was supposed to be cheese and cranberries on the salad he said he didn't know. Two in our group never got their food (a kids grilled cheese and a cheeseburger) after 35 minutes... She asked for a refund and the clueless guy behind the counter refused and told her the food was almost ready. The 6 people who walked in and ordered after her had all received their food (with messed up orders also) and my group was all FINISHED eating at this point. In my opinion, hands down Whataburger has one of the best franchise burgers out there. Always fresh tasting and extremely juicy, this is not a burger you want to eat wearing light-colored clothing because you are sure to make a mess. The staff at the 3 locations I have visited over the years including this new one have been extremely pleasant and professional, and seem to genuinely enjoy their job. After a 43 minute wait they still got a simple two hamburger order incorrect. And the manager had the gall to say if I came back they would get the order correct. The hamburgers were greasy and had a thin slice of frozen patty with minimal dressings. They tasted bad.
