I'm kinda shocked at the low stars for this quality establishment. I was greeted warmly and treated very kindly by all involved. Burger was solid, tasted good. My only gripe was cheese wasn't melted. Went in this location twice, first time I waited and waited, one cashier, and never got waited on. People walking around me and behind the counter all looking like they were zombies; but nobody would take my order. Went back later to give them another chance, EXACTLY SAME THING. Fires are soggy and didn't put all my food in the bag and got one of the orders wrong so I had to drive back up there to pick up my food. The works are very nice and had my food ready to go when I got there so that is a plus. read more

Burgers always cold not warm not hot but cold. Rarely get hot fries. If you ask them to give you a hot burger and fries it will still be cold. Only way you get something hot is if it's chicken. Well what can I say? I one here as much as possible. They have an amazing breakfast and the lunch and dinner is amazing also. I have said this time and time again the jalapeño cheddar biscuit is so delicious!!! I'm tell you if you get a chance pop in and get one. Stopped into this Whataburger as it was getting busy with a lunch rush, and was extremely impressed with the manager. Continuous communication with her staff, making sure they knew what was coming in and what they need to start prepping, as well as communicating wait times with the customers and preparing bags for a fast turn around. Also very encouraging with her staff and seemed to keep everyone in good spirits despite the rush. The rest of the staff was very polite as well. Food was out quick and hot. Big fan. read more

Whataburger management: this location clearly has major problems. We placed a curbside order via the app for ASAP. Found out when we got there that they don't do curbside at all. You have to sit through the long slow line at the drive through. Took us slightly under 30 minutes to get our food. Why offer curbside in the app if the store is incapable of doing it? It was also clear that they did not even start working on our order until we showed up. And why on earth is the drive through here so slow just after 11AM? TL;DR- got an avocado bacon burger and it made me puke in under a half hour. I decided to treat myself today since its my birthday, so I stopped by on my way home from work. I ordered the avocado bacon burger, and it was ready really quickly.... almost too quickly. I usually expect a few minutes wait at whataburger but it was ready in under five minutes. Not really a problem but I think the burger was sitting out for a while before I ordered it, because immediately after eating it I had bad bad heartburn, and ended up throwing up as soon as I got home. 0/10, would not recommend. read more

I love Whataburger and typically give 4-5 stars at every location I visit across the state of Texas. Unfortunately, I can't do the same for this location. The staff were very nice but when I get a taquito that's dripping raw eggs from them being under cooked, and the fact that they allowed homeless people to hangout inside who are not paying customers, made me only give 2 stars. I don't have a problem with homeless people but I do have a problem when they ask for your food and wear their underwear on the outside of their pants. Food was standard Whataburger goodness. -- The ONLY reason the review gets 2 stars. Service is a negative 1 star. But jesus christ it took 30 minutes for me to get my food. Walked in (because there were about 6 cars in the drive thru) and stood in line behind 2 people. After about 5 minutes of waiting in line and being told, "Hold on!" by the people working, the lady in front of me left. About 2 minutes after that, the guy at the front of the line got to order. He was given a number and told to wait for food. He joined a group of 3 other people waiting for food. Once I get to the register, I'm once again told "I'll be with you in a minute" and the lady walks off to help prep the drive thru orders. Meanwhile, there appears to be one person preparing food in the kitchen. There was another person sorting through a giant box of frozen chicken strips. He was sorting them into 3-strip portions (for easy frying later). I work in foodservice/retail, so I totally get that stuff like that has to get done... but wouldn't he be better deployed making food or taking orders or doing something that benefits the 6 customers waiting in the restaurant and the 6+ in the drive thru? Whatever. When I walked out of the damn place, it was 5 til 9. I had walked in no later than 8.30am! Seriously damn insane. Oh, and also, the guy in front of me was given the wrong beverage (I specifically heard him order OJ, but he was given milk). He totally noticed it was wrong, too, but I guess he didn't want to wait another 30 minutes for orange juice. I don't blame him. Once I got my B.O.B. (no cheese) and fries (instead of hashbrowns)-- my fries were cold. If there's another Whataburger in Beaumont, I'd recommend that one. There's almost no way that this one is better. read more

I am 55 and have visited Whataburgers as long as I remember. This was the first tme having a bad experience at a Whataburger. It started off the with the counter person. She could not comprehend adding cheese to a kids meal. I had to explain to her what a #1 what a meal gets. We had to get up and get our food. My wife said that we were waiting for our fries. When we got them, the fries were not fresh. My burger was no longer hot. There weren't 8 people in the dinning room. I have been given the wrong order before but never cold food. I timed my ticket 17 minutes. I will still eat at Whataburger but here in Beaumont. The Whataburger on Lucas has good food but the wait is also long. You can hear the staff screaming at each other. We have been there twice. We do not go to hear gladiators. We ate on college on the 24 at about 2 pm. read more

Literally the worst Whataburger I've ever been to. First we drove 13 hrs from South Carolina and my wife really wanted it so we made sure to stop. First, we went to it this location at 8am on June 1st and the day shift is the laziest group of workers I've ever seen. We accidentally spilled a drink on the table and onto the floor and informed the staff about it. An older gentleman that works there came to mop it up but ignored the spill on the table. He proceeded to just wander around the seated area talking it up while the spill on the table poured onto the floor defeating the purpose of mopping in the first place. He then took a break and just left the mess he was given to clean up. A younger girl came in, clocked in and was wiping down tables, came to the table in question and also overlooked the issue and went about doing every other table. We were there for a good 20mins eating and the spill happened right when we went to sit down. Not only is it unsanitary, it's unsafe. Then as we were leaving I took my 2 kids to the restroom which also showed the work ethic of the workers there as there was pee all over the floor, which in order to use either toilet you had to step in. Made an order online, unfortunately I didn't have a car so I called them to see if they could take my order to the door and just leave it there, they said "no you have to get in line with the rest of the cars." To that point I was still okay with it, I get to pick up my food and they said "oh I'm sorry sr your order isn't ready" when the order was supposed to be out 30 mins before, they had the bright idea of now making me wait by the door another 15 mins, I finally get home and to my surprise the order was wrong. Out on a road trip and stopped for my son's favorite hamburger. The place was busy it we stopped anyways. The service was great! The cashier was smiling and very efficient. We ordered 4 number 1's all hamburgers with cheese. One had mayo instead of mustard with all veggies, one had meat cheese with ketchup only, another meat and cheese only, and the last one was meat, cheese, no tomato or onions and mayo instead of mustard. The order came out hot, fresh, and correct! The place was cold but the food was good. As we were leaving someone shouts, " Thank you and have a good day!" Which was a great way to end our experience. I visit this establishment of whataburger occasionally and I must say I like the breakfast time more than the lunch or dinner time of days due to the crews working it. I know with fast food services it's a hit or miss on how great the customer service is but this place really changes after breakfast and not in a good way. The drive through service is terrible. It takes about 15-20 minutes to order and get through the line even if there aren't multiple cars. If you request to remove an item from your burger, they forget. For the prices I pay to eat there I do expect to be treated kindly. I expect for my food to come out the way I order it. I've visited the whataburger on Dowlen and have never had these issues and even during lunch or dinner time I'm in and out the drive through in 10 minutes, not the college st. whataburger. If ever you are here late and decide to go inside instead of the drive thru don't do so if there is a crowd here. The customer service is well enough except if there is a can load of persons in line in front of you. They were understaffed for the amount of people in line. They were working hard and steady, however, issues with the register only exacerbated the problem further. They finally worked through the problem and my order arrived a short while later.
