Why the 5 stars? BECAUSE this place was open and wonderfully staffed on a crazy cold snowy and icy winter day (early 2014). Closed were the schools, closed was the nearer Taco Bell. Closed were almost every other stores... but i was in a hotel with not much food choice, walked rather than driving through icy streets... I came here and was welcomed with a warm smile and such a heartwaeming care and concern i almost started crying... and, when i stated i wanted to add an order of burger and fries for an homeless man, they put extra fries and offered a free large coffee). AND, to top it all off... i was able to hop a drive back to the hotel... Oooh, and the look on the homeless man... PRICELESS!!! read more

I moved to Texas from the midwest, and this place was my first experience with Whataburger. In fact I've not eaten at any other except this location. If you've never eaten at a Whatabuger you might not think their selection is very big so heads up on that but they do have some customization items that help such as green chilies, jalapeños, and of course cheese and bacon. The flavor of their burgers are great. I don't think I could stomach looking at the health info on the patties but OMG they are tasty. It is definitely great to taste juicy meat and not just the toppings places stick on them. The Whatabuger and the Double Whatabuger will not disappoint but I would highly recommend the patty melt, the montery melt, and the chicken bites. OH OH, and do yourself a favor and order a side of gravy to dunk your fries in... its amazing! People working here are really friendly. read more

My husband and I ordered lunch take out on Sunday 9/1/19. Drive through line was long and slow moving. I ordered two #1 combo meals with grilled onions, one with fries and one with onion rings. I also ordered a chicken fajita taco. I tried the onion rings as we were driving off and it was cold and greasy. Turned around and my husband took them inside to exchange for fries.I wish we had checked the order before driving off, I would have just asked for a refund. When we got home, both hamburgers were cold and neither had any onions at all. The chicken taco was just a piece of unsliced grilled chicken on a tortilla with nothing else on it. The fries were warm but tasted like they had freezer burn. We were unable to go back to the restaurant so ended up tossing the food and scrounging for something else at home. I'll dive straight into the controversy--Whataburger is in fact better than In-n-Out. I've been to both many times, and it's just that simple. For starters, Whataburger has a much more extensive menu whereas, well, we all know about In-n-Out's menu. Whataburger's meat patties are consistently fresh, and their burgers are just the right level of thickness. But what I really love is the unique ingredients they use. You get a more gourmet-style burger, but you still get it relatively fast. Today I had a burger with pico de gallo, pepper jack cheese, and a wonderful lime sauce--it was delicious! Another time I had a buffalo chicken sandwich--also fantastic! And the shakes? Very good consistency, and the serving size is HUGE. read more

Okay so there is nothing wrong with the food my review is just because of the way we were treated, me and my boyfriend payed with two separate cards which we always do, but we were there for like an hour because the lady charged way more than expected, so we figured it was her first night so we weren't upset at first but however she kept telling us we needed to be quiet and wait, and then when my boyfriend tried to explain that we wanted to do two different cards she said hush I'm reading your order back so be quiet and then he apologized for keeping the line going so long and she said yep, then under her breath she said you should be. Come outside carry them to the suburban and then walk back in for our food!!! If I would have known that would have went else where because I don't feel like waiting in line for 40 minutes!!!! I couldn't get out and help because we have 1 year old twins so I stay in the car so he could go in! Get rid of the online order and saying it'll be ready at a time. Man - I hate to leave a one star review; but it's only because I had a decent biscuit for breakfast from this location that they got that star. Whataburger is a Texas favorite and is typically a favorite of mine. Obviously, if this was my second meal there today, I can be considered a regular Whataburger customer. Not any more. I ordered my typical #1 with cheese, fries and a Diet Coke. What I got was a cold burger - cold, not warm. The fries were barely warm, not hot I also got a regular Dr Pepper instead of Diet Coke. I should have know they were screwed up tonight because it took over 15 minutes for four cars to go through. When I got to the window, she repeated my order and I asked if I could get a large diet Coke. Then she told me it was $16 something and tried to give me the wrong order.... I remember eating here as a kid and all I can remember is how good the cinnamon rolls were. Someone was telling how good the Hamburger were so I had to check it out. I ordered a double green chili cheese burger with avocado and it was sheer bliss. I devoured that burger and now I am hopping to have a few burbs later so I can savor the flavor. Wish I could leave no stars. Food is great. one of my favorite burgers but I ,nor anyone in my family will EVER give my hard earned money to an establishment that allowed their managers to throw things at the vehicle of a customer. I placed an order and sat outside for a half hour and waited for 4 meals. When my husband called to see what the hold up was he was very nastily told it was coming right out and hung up on. We waited another 10 minutes and someone came out and said they would be right back with our meal. another 10 minutes and we had to ask an employee to find a manager for us. When she finally made it out she only had our drinks and proceeded to tell us we were waiting on our fries to cook. When we told her nevermind we couldn't wait any longer (it had been almost an hour by now) that we had kids and animals in the car sitting in the sun. We got in our vehicle to leave and the drinks she had been holding she threw at our vehicle. So all we got for lunch was to go was the soda off our vehicle AND the animal that was in our truck. read more

I love the food at whataburger! Everything I've ever tried has always been top notch, for a fast food chain. The drive thru takes forever, though. I always make sure my phone has a full charge or bring a book with me when I stop by. Once I was in line for 23 minutes. On May 9, 2016, I visited this location only to be a subject on-going abuse in the Abilene area. I ordered a breakfast meal to-dine-in. Seconds after I ordered my meal, here comes a staff member readily to serve me, as if they saw me coming. and indeed, they did. By noon, I became extremely ill with a burning sensation throughout my gastrointestinal tract. At this time, I realized it was no time-released capsule, but rather, a chemotherapy pill, or, a hydro version of cayenne pepper. In either event, this is not the first time this has happened to me. This also happened to me in the Leon Valley area near San Antonio Texas, where I came to realize cinnamon in my breakfast at another Whataburger. This is extremely cruel. The hamburgers are fair, The meat is just plain and unseasoned. The fries are hard and difficult to eat for elderly people. They used to have Whataburger Wednesdays and got too cheap to even do that anymore. They even hand out salt and pepper and ketchup sparingly. read more
