What's The Move provided amazing service to my girlfriend and me in helping us move to a new apartment. Every step up the process was quick, easy, and streamlined. I always have a lot of questions when undertaking a big task like moving and Chris and Brittany were super responsive and helpful with every question I had. The quotes I was given were very straightforward and there were no hidden charges. I think our move even came in under the quoted amount. On the days of our move, the movers were on time, incredibly polite, and were so willing to go the extra mile to make sure everything was done correctly. The speed at which they were able to complete the work was also amazing! There was no wasted time at all. Chase and Steven were focused on their work and on providing excellent service! Upon arrival, all items were placed where we wanted them in the new apartment and everything arrived without damage. I am still in awe of how well everything went. If you are looking for quality movers who are friendly, easy to work with, good at their jobs, and who will treat your stuff as if it is their own, then you need to reach out to Chris' team at What's The Move. I really can't say enough good about this company and the amazing staff they have. I will definitely keep them in mind for any future moves and recommend them to anyone looking for movers. read more

Ron Mercer recommends What's The Move. desrStoopn9a325418mmcf059048laih3ha4mi29mu2f061g94la2cu60ulh · Shared with Your friends Absolutely GREAT! I was planning a move of my daughter from Greenville to Raleigh Nc. I was in S. West Ohio. I contacted 5 or 6 companies and received 3 or 4 replies. Chris and his Team responded right away and a plan was put in place. My daughter sent them a walk through Vid and a quote with all the details was in my email within 48 hours. The team arrived as scheduled, and went straight to work. They wrapped all large items and wrapped in shrink wrap. Loading up went very smoothly. Same as delivery. 2 bed town house to 3 bed town house 70 miles. WOW! But this is a huge consideration. The Team was FUN! Smiling, Laughing, Their whole attitude was 5 star. They were a joy to work with and I can't thank them enough. They made this life event to be Stress free on all sides. My only apology is I forgot to buy them water as I had just arrived in town. Sorry. Folks: ice cold water Is something my mom taught me. I forgot. Again / Chris and team , GREAT SERVICE! April 22, 2026 Ron. read more

I recently used What's the Move for a long distance move from Durham, NC to Charlotte, NC. Honestly, I had been dreading the move as moving days are typically not an enjoyable experience. I initially found the company on Yelp and based on their good reviews I decided to reach out for a quote. From the initial contact to obtaining a quote based on my needs, Chris was friendly, professional and fair. Brittany, the office manager, called the day before the move to confirm time and pick up/drop off location. Chris and Chase arrived on time with smiles, friendly attitudes and were extremely efficient with the move. We were able to pack, drive and unload everything from Durham to Charlotte in a little under 6.5 hours. I've had friends who have recently had local moves that took longer! All of my furniture and belongings arrived intact and in the same condition prior to the move. If you want a fun and stress-free moving experience, I highly recommend What's The Move! Although I am hoping not to move again any time soon, if I have to I will definitely be reaching out to Chris and his team. Thank you for everything! read more

I truly cannot say enough wonderful things about What's the Move! Moving out of the home I lived in for nearly 15 years was an emotional and extremely overwhelming process, and there is absolutely no way I could have packed up my entire house without their help. Chris and his team - Dom, Kellan, and Matt - were incredible from start to finish. They were extremely reliable, hardworking, and thoughtful about how they packed and protected every item. They took such great care of my belongings and handled the unloading and unpacking in my new home with the same level of care and precision. Beyond their professionalism, they were genuinely a joy to work with--personable, polite, kind, and so much fun to talk to throughout the day. They made me feel completely taken care of during what could have been a very stressful experience. If you're looking for movers, do not hesitate to call What's the Move. I highly recommend them to anyone looking for a reliable and thoughtful team that truly cares. Thank you for turning such a huge and emotional transition into an incredibly positive experience! read more

This is my second time using What's The Move, and once again, they exceeded all my expectations! From start to finish, the team was professional, efficient, and incredibly kind. Scheduling was easy, communication was smooth, and they arrived right on time. What really stood out is that they didn't just make the move stress-free--they actually made it a FUN experience. Every part of the experience felt like I was being taken care of by family. The crew brought such positive energy, treated my belongings with care, and worked with both speed and precision. It felt more like a team of friends helping me move, rather than a business transaction. They went above and beyond -being super accommodating with last-minute changes. If you are thinking about movers, please do not hesitate to call What's The Move. Moving is usually overwhelming, but with them, it was surprisingly uplifting. I'd recommend them to anyone looking for reliable, thoughtful movers who truly care. Thank you for turning a big transition into something genuinely positive! M. Rodriguez read more

I highly recommend Chris Ballen and his excellent crew who moved us from a 35 year large residence in the historic district in our new smaller retirement home in a new subdivision. What's The Move crew arrived exactly on time at 10AM on moving day and moved our heavy formal furniture from a 1902 Victorian home in two loads until 10PM nonstop. The great teamwork exhibited by this close crew was obvious and their rapport was excellent. They responded to the challenges of removing doors twice for room entry challenges of large furniture. The detailed immediate bill was available and very reasonable for the extras not priced in the original estimate. I would recommend Chris and his team for any local move you are contemplating. We definitely will recommend and use again! read more

What's the move is a great company! From the beginning to the end the communication was there. When I was just looking for a couple of quotes the owner Chris was able to answer all of my question. The day of the move Chris makes sure to call and make it know that they're on the way! I love the fact that he was able to work around my schedule!! I moved out of a townhouse with an roommate to an 1 bdrm apartment. From him and his men meeting me at my first location, to getting everything I needed moved, making sure not to hit any walls, traveling to the next location and putting my stuff where needed, it was an overall great decision to go with his company! Not only does Chris and his men move good but they also are very funny and can joke around too! read more

What's The Move assisted with loading a POD this past weekend, on one of the hottest days of the year. The crew, Chris (the owner), KB (All-American), and Josh, were incredible. They worked so well as a team and performed a miracle to get every last box and piece of furniture into the POD. They were so kind and funny, and worked very efficiently. They also made sure the pieces of furniture that I really value were wrapped well and taken care of. The pricing was fair, and I always appreciate supporting a small, local business. I plan to book them again to unload the POD in a couple of months and would recommend this team to everyone! read more

I had the opportunity to use this company "What's The Move NC" for my move and I must say I am very happy I did. From the owner "Chris" to the team lead "Josh" and of course "Whitley" and "Chase" very polite and professional group of guys. The company is very reasonable in pricing and got the job done in a very reasonable time. An extra shout out goes to Josh, seeing him delegate to the team with proper placement and handling of my stuff on and off the truck speaks leadership. I will recommend getting with Chris and his team for your next move. #whatsthemove #checkmate. read more

Chris and his team did a great job of getting our stuff unloaded and moved into our new house in record time. They took the extra care to ensure everything was put into the appropriate rooms so we didn't have to reshuffle all of our belongings after they left. Additionally, they were able to move some of our heavier items up to the second level, which I would not have been able to do on my own...without a scratch. They were professional, courteous, and a lot of fun to move alongside of. Would definitely recommend. 5 out of 5 stars for this group! read more

I'm very pleased with my experience. I needed help removing my things from storage and into my uhaul. My original day I wanted was booked so we made a plan for another day and time that worked for me so I loved the flexibility! Also he sent out 2 movers to help me move and they were very nice and also very efficient in their work. They packed my uhaul very well! I had to travel 2 hours to Virginia and none of my items were damaged. I would definitely recommend this company and I also would book with him again when the time comes. Thank you so much! read more

The reviews are true, these guys are top notch. They (Chris and Chase) showed up right on time, started instantly, and got my entire apartment moved (up and down 3 flights of stairs on each end) in amazing time. I was only moving a few buildings over but they treated my stuff like it was going across the country. They went above and beyond every step of the way and were very positive and friendly. On top of the great service, their pricing was very competitive. Overall, I could not have asked for a better moving experience. read more

I honestly can't thank What's The Move enough! My original movers never showed up, and I was completely stressed trying to figure out what to do. These guys stepped in on short notice and completely saved the day. They were so kind, respectful, and genuinely cared about helping me get everything done smoothly. They treated my things with care and moved quickly without ever making me feel rushed. It's rare to find a team this thoughtful and dependable -- I'm beyond grateful and would recommend them in a heartbeat! read more

Very professional service from start to finish. They communicated clearly, arrived within the agreed-upon time frame, and handled everything with great care. They were especially cautious when wrapping and protecting the pool table, moving the furniture, and setting everything back up properly. The service was efficient, careful, and reasonably priced. I really appreciated their professionalism and attention to detail. I would definitely recommend them to anyone who needs furniture moved or assembled. read more

I had a U Pack trailer that was about half full, which this company unloaded and moved into my new home in about four hours. The two men who did the work were clean, personable, and professional, and did a great job placing things and setting up the beds. I was very happy they could work with my schedule because U Pack is not the best about giving definite times for delivery and pick up of containers. The pricing was very straightforward and I highly recommend. What's The Move. Really good guys. read more

Highly recommend this moving company!! Chris and Matt continuously worked hard! The furniture was wrapped in blankets then wrapped in shrink wrap to keep everything secure. They are professional, reliable, courteous, strong and absolutely great guys!! These 2 fellas moved a piano that was 500 lbs! Just the 2 of them. When I say they are strong, careful, meticulous I'm serious! THIS is the absolute best moving company you could hope for to meet all your moving needs. They are outstanding! read more

We found What's The Move on ChatGPT when we asked it for the best moving company in our area in NC! ChatGPT was right! Chris, Matt, and Marvin were OUTSTANDING! Couldn't have been better. They were so professional and accommodating. They wrapped delicate items and were super careful! They went with the flow too which was much appreciated since we had to go to 4 different locations to pick up and drop off stuff. The price was right! They made a challenging moving scenario fun :) THANK YOU!!! read more

Chris and his team Matt were awesome! I moved from Raleigh to Charlotte and they were so accommodating. They were responsive, professional, smart and great with last minute requests. Nothing was damaged. My friend that was helping me has moved 12 times and said they were the best movers she has ever experienced. They were true to their word and so accommodating to all my requests. The price was fair and worth every penny. Would definitely use again and recommend highly ! read more

Chris and Steven were awesome! They were very friendly, helpful and professional, and I was impressed with how they wrapped all of my furniture and secured it to the walls in the moving truck to protect everything from harm during the move. Chris also did an excellent job disassembling and reassembling my bed frame. I felt like I was in good hands the entire time. And the price point was totally reasonable.
