Got my free pretzel today. Didn't even know about it. I ordered a jalapeño dog and it was not quite done. There were some raw Dow in there. The cinnamon pretzel bite was just ok. I hope the freebies are better

Wetzel Pretzel is a guilty pleasure. It's the definition of junk food. Bread and a lot of butter! Don't eat it every day but treat yourself once in a while. We got the Wetzel bites which was good and the pretzel dog which was way too oily. Friendly staff. Overall, decent.

Mmm hairy greasy pretzel . Service was friendly but a bit chaotic. No more almond crunch when I tried to buy :( ... they wouldn't make more , so just plain and pizza were availably .

Wetzel's Pretzels never fails whenever I'm in need for a quick bite or some carbs for refueling. This little kiosk is randomly placed in the middle of the mall offering a large option of baked bread goods. Items that never fail me: Pepperoni Twist Wetzel Dog Dog Bites Pizza Bitz & Wetzel [original] Bitz with Pizza Sauce. Food items are affordable, filling, and delicious while service is prompt and friendly. Minus one star because sometimes my Bitz are charred at the bottom more than I'd like. Meh.

Over at the Oakridge Mall location little miss Juanita needs to learn some customer service skills and not be rude to paying customers!

I just couldn't do it! I couldn't walk past these pretzels! So much for my low-carb diet! I did learn recently that low-carb diets only work because you initially lose a bunch of water that carbs were retaining, so with that said, I don't feel that bad. Plus my daughter ate most of it. These are so delicious! They are perfect too, because they are bite size. I feel like I just wrote these same words, and I remembered I got some auntie's pretzels the other day, also in the mall. Pretzels are just yummy! I love to eat mine with mustard! It's just a perfect combination. This location also gives out samples, and it's always of their cinnamon bite size ones. I'm not a fan of cinnamon, so I wish they sampled something else. This location is at the end of the mall near Nordstrom rack, but if you aren't on this side, don't worry they have another location in the food court. They make sure to tempt you from both sides! Good luck walking by these yummy pretzels!

Buttery salty goodness. A classic salty pretzel is what junk food dreams are made of. Made fresh, a variety of flavors. A salted pretzel while walking around at the mall is my go to snack!

I should've used my instincts when I came in to this crowded unclean restaurant that this was the beginning of a terrible experience. Floors aren't swept, tables covered in food and dishes, people crowding the register. But like most adventurous people who respect the food industry, I get that staff can be backed up or some orders take longer to cook, or maybe there's just a large party dining in. I truly get it. I wanted to give this a chance as it seemed like a diamond in the rough due to the current review status. Boy was I so wrong. I waited for over an hour for a soup, salad and pork Schnitzel (still waiting as I type this review) . Staff did not give us any update, nor did they seem to remember what we ordered, no sense of urgency. What's the point of giving us a receipt number, or table placard with numbers if no one is following it, and there's a handful of people asking for a status update? It wasn't until we asked for a refund IF they haven't started with preparing our order did they actually care. Mind you now it's 30minutes before closing, they are still taking orders and they still haven't served others who are just as upset for not being served. Maybe it was a bad day, but it affected me and family enough to not consider coming back. Good luck to you Esther's Update: after 1hr 45min, They forgot our salad, the soup of the day was sub par Campbells soup, and their pork schnitzel was lackluster.

The fermentation concept is woven into everything from the beers and botanical mocktails to the food and it actually works incredibly well. The drinks are creative without feeling gimmicky, and the flavors are layered and thoughtful. The food was surprisingly memorable too, especially how vegetable-forward dishes still felt rich and satisfying. The atmosphere has this warm, artsy, almost hidden-gem energy that makes you want to stay for hours. What really stands out is that the place feels intentional. You can tell the owners care deeply about craft, community, and creating an experience instead of just another brewery. Easily one of the coolest and most distinctive food/drink concepts in San Jose right now.

Fox Tale Fermentation is a small place like a Japanese ramen shop. My high school classmate suggestion this place and I thought she was vegetarian. I asked her why this place; she wanted to try it out but she's a meat eater. I'm down to try new places so we went. When we went, it was really crowded for a Thursday dinner time. A lady saw my cane and offer her table to sit at so I felt seen. You pretty much order at the front counter; you pour your own water. Front counter was so nice to us as we try to order. We got the funk salad and kombucha. We didn't order a lot because we wanted to try the place. When we got to our table, it was near the door. Our funk salad came and it was hefty mf. It was a bowl of salad all right. So you know how I said earlier that I don't like vegetarian food? OMG I was amazed. The best salad I've eaten. The vinaigrette was so good; it was citrusy. My salad was cut into small pieces so it wasn't big that I need to cut it. The sweet potato was sauteed. The princess sauerkraut was so good. I don't like sauerkraut at all but it was divine. I never tried kombucha because I thought it was dirt tea. I was wrong. It has the fermented taste and I never knew. After trying it, it's not something I would order again. I liked how I was eating "healthy" food after I ate bad yesterday. I don't have that bad bloated feeling. It's very wheelchair friendly and restroom is unisex. The restroom is clean. The establishment is clean. I would go here again if I have a vegetarian visitor. This place rocks!

Staff was attentive, friendly, and helpful, and even when we moved to the bar after dinner, the bartender was awesome. The place had a lot of seating available in multiple rooms, with lovely artworks throughout and a combination of exposed brick and wooden wall panels. And though we didn't come on a night with live music or entertainment, we absolutely enjoyed our experience here. To eat, we got the sausage combination platte, wiener schnitzel plate with potato salad, and jägerschnitzel dish. The portion sizes are quite large, and we were impressed by the taste and quality of each of these items. The sausages were so juicy and flavorful, two of them stood out but I didn't know which one was which. It wasn't too heavy, which I appreciated as well. The breaded pork cutlet was yummy, especially with the thick buttery white wine mushroom sauce, and the spätzle was cooked perfectly. I finished every single bite, and I'm typically not a big fan of pasta. That's how much I liked the dish. My bf wiped his plate clean too, with tender veal and german style potato salad. I liked how the soft drinks came in beer mug looking glasses, fitting for the theme. We also tried a couple different german schnaps before leaving, the jagertee and bärenjager, and both were really good.

I have to start my review by saying how sorry I feel for all the people who come here and spend…read moretheir hard-earned money. I apologize on behalf of this place, and please don't judge European cuisine based on the kind of terrible food you get here. Nothing is authentic about preheated food that's supposed to come freshly out of the oven. I honestly wouldn't be surprised if they just put some of it in the microwave. We arrived on a Saturday at 5:45 PM and the place was completely empty. The owner's first question was whether we had a reservation. That was the first red flag I should have noticed, but the red flags just kept coming. The food arrived suspiciously fast. We ordered a lot of dishes, so I was actually worried it wouldn't even fit on the table. The first thing I asked for, as a European, was bread. I asked if they could bring out plenty so I wouldn't have to keep asking for more. She brought 4 tiny pieces and said, "If you eat all of it, I'll bring more." Well, that didn't sit well with me. After the first bite, I immediately asked her to take it back because it was terrible. It tasted like minimum one-week-old dry, moldy bread. Then the manager came to the table and interrogated me about why I called the bread terrible. He claimed it was "authentic German bread" right after finding out I was European just minutes before. I even asked them to at least put it in the toaster, hoping that would improve it a little. After that, it felt like they kept harassing us. "Is everything okay?" Even the owner started yelling from the other side of the restaurant asking if everything was good. I'm only posting the pictures to show how much food we ordered -- and there wasn't a single dish that wasn't terrible. This is the type of food that's only enjoyable when it's fresh. Not a single dish tasted like it was cooked that day. Just think about how day-old reheated French fries taste -- terrible. That's exactly how we felt about the entire meal. The weirdest part came when we asked for to-go boxes. They didn't know we only planned to take the food home for my friend's dog. When they came back with the boxes and tried taking the plates away, my friend said, "Oh wait, I want to take that pork skin for my dog." The waitress replied that she could bring a smaller box for it, and I was honestly so close to saying, "Save yourself the trip -- all of this food is for the dog anyway. Just put it with the rest." But I decided not to be as rude and unprofessional as the staff was here. I don't think I even need to mention that we will never come back. I posted this mainly to warn my fellow Europeans not to come here, and to educate those who may not realize that nothing here is fresh. I'm saying all of this as a former restaurant owner in Europe, a former chef, and simply as someone who knows how food is supposed to taste.
