Pork belly

This is an intimate wine bar with surprisingly great food! We sat outdoors to enjoy the secluded outdoor dining area. The server went above and beyond to allow us to taste wines before we committed to a glass. I wasn't expecting large portions but I was thoroughly satisfied after the meal. This is an up and coming spot, great for date night!

Where the world meets the table @wetstonewinebarsolanabeach - Solana Beach, every bite is a journey and every glass tells a story. Globally inspired small plates meant for sharing, a thoughtfully curated wine list to explore without a passport, and a vibe where laughter flows as freely as the pours. From baked oysters and Verlasso salmon to crispy pork belly, then ending sweet with pot de crème and bread pudding -- this is comfort, culture, and community all on one table. Come as you are. Leave full, happy, and already planning your next visit. Jennifer and Chef is soo amazing!!!

Came here a second time and found out they started a happy hour! I enjoyed some delicious shishito peppers and rosé with a friend and everything was delightful! Of course the wine was delicious! This was the perfect place to hang out with a friend, grab a bite, and a glass of wine! Was not disappointed at all and already excited to come back again a third time.

We had the pleasure of dining last night at Wet Stone Wine Bar, a relatively new restaurant in Solana Beach. The restaurant offers a few outdoor tables (especially enjoyable this time of year) and indoor seating for approximately 20 guests. It features an international wine list and a thoughtfully curated selection of small plates and main courses, all designed for sharing. Our server, Justin, provided several excellent wine recommendations that complemented our meal nicely. To start, we shared the Smoked Hamachi Crudo and the Local Apple Salad. The Hamachi was beautifully prepared and among the best I've had in the U.S. For our mains, we shared the Branzino, Lamb Rack, and Heirloom Carrots. Each dish was creative and perfectly executed. Overall, it was an outstanding and thoroughly enjoyable meal.

From the moment I realized they moved into the neighborhood I knew it would be love! And it was not just love at first sip, but I got to savor the layers as they deepened with the gorgeous intentionality and charm involved in every aspect of this new perfectly cozy place. The service was so genuine and charming, the whole crew actually cared about ensuring a solid experience from the conversation, to the welcome to the pour to the tastings to everything. Bravo! The food. My goodness. I've never gone to a wine bar for the food. That's changed now. Holy hell. Try everything you can it's made with such love! It's things I've eaten before but that are new to me again. Also, I've always hated olives. Not here. They converted me to their olives. All that to say, one sipping and I'm sold. I'll be back with friends.

scallop crudo

delicious and the overall vibe is great. The food, however, was a bit hit or miss. The scallop crudo was the biggest miss for us. It tasted overly fishy and felt like it needed acidity to balance it out. It came across as raw scallops with olive oil and salt, and unfortunately the whole table struggled to enjoy it. I would skip that dish. On the positive side, the pork belly was really good, and the pimiento cheese was solid, just not particularly memorable. I would absolutely come back for the wine and atmosphere. One small note, upgrading the outdoor furniture from plastic chairs and tables would really elevate the overall experience.

Seared scallops

Came for a glass of wine but ended up staying just to order more after just the olives were great as an appetizer. Everything was amazing. Service was fantastic. Super friendly staff. 15/10 recommend. The scallops were easily the best I've ever had.

Great wine selection and food. Tried their pimento drip which was delicious.. Nice atmosphere and decor. Very good service. Will come back soon.

Hamachi

This place is my new obsession. The wine list is totally different than anything in the area. The food is amazing as well. I have not had a dish I didn't love. If you are looking for a light snack, I recommend the pimento cheese. They have a rotating house red and white that has introduced me to new varietals that I love. The owners, Jen and Graham are so welcoming. It's like being in a cafe in Europe!

Our server, Vinny was attentive and friendly, offering suggestions and answering questions from the group. For the table we got the Brussels sprouts and bacon wrapped shrimp, our table was 4 and the order comes with 3 but Vinny let us know we could add one so everyone could try, I would have liked a fully wrapped shrimp, however, flavor/crunch & emulsion served underneath were spectacular. Filet mignon tacos- so yummy- smaller bites of steak will be my request next time as it was harder to eat before taco fell apart. Buttermilk chicken and bluefin were other dishes ordered, all were a hit. The crème brûlée was on the thinner side of the custard family but delicious nonetheless. This was my wife and I's second visit since the change in ownership, and the first time we forgave them thinking they would get it together. But we did wait a couple of years before we came back. So I made a reservation on a Saturday evening at 6 and we arrived on time. The table we were offered was a very small 2 seat right at the host podium, on the patio. Looked pretty quiet so I was a little disappointed, but ok. So the evening starts ok, we get our drink order in and an app. Just after our wine came they said sorry, can we take your table? They were rearranging for a large group expected later. So we held everything in our hands or laps while they dragged our table away. Good news is they brought a slightly larger one. Ok, still hanging in there. But now for the next 20 minutes they are dragging solar heaters around, moving tables, and in the process, ignoring us because they have all this to do. But our dinner eventually comes and the rearranging is done, but the large party starts to arrive. Turns out, of course, our server was their server. So things slowed WAY down for us but we did get a dessert order in, which was to be accompanied by a glass of port we were to share. After 10 minutes the dessert came and the server clarified with us we only wanted one glass. Affirmed. They disappear for 20 minutes to serve the big group. So our dessert included ice cream, it's starting to melt, we are trying to hang on...and after all this time our server comes over to tell us they are out of port. Now we're 30 minutes plus after ordering, that's pretty bad. So now we eat our dessert, really not enjoying it because of the service. Finally, waiting for our check, the owner comes over. It's been almost an hour since our dessert order. He apologizes profusely that there was a misunderstanding...they do have port...then with a flourish he produces a glass and says it's on the house. We would have sent it back but I think we were a little shocked at unaware he was Tone deaf to the situation. Three hours. $350. Miserable experience. Goodbye Sbicca, we miss the old.

Our party of four decided to have the Lime in da Coconut and Gin Blossom cocktails. Very tasty! Appetizers were enticing, so we tried the Wagu meatballs, crispy firecracker shrimp, and lobster dumplings. One order of each was enough to allow each of us to have a piece or two of each appetizer, which was a great and cost effective way to taste the delicious food. The entrees we had were the chicken enchiladas, herb crusted salmon, macadamia nut crusted sea bass, and the blackened ribeye. Again, absolutely delicious! The tavern itself is not huge. The dark walls are covered with colorful and interesting posters. Really nice! The restrooms were clean and well maintained. Always a big plus! Overall wonderful dinner! That time we saw Ricki Lee Jones and Mike. Fun show! We will be back with a much larger party to enjoy the food, and see Rachel and Tilray. Looking forward to another great time! Thank you! Nancy

We dined in the adjacent restaurant, The Tavern, so that we could be among the first patrons admitted to the general seating venue. We got in early, 6:30 for a 7:30 show and sat off to the left near the side bar. The area is raised a couple steps then has more elevated seats above. We sat where we usually sit and got ready for the show. About 15mins before the show late comer patrons, after finding no seats stood directly in front of us. There is a large standing room area in the center but this area just behind ADA seats is always off limits for standing as it blocks the aisle way toward the rear exit. When we told the security guard he said he couldn't ask them to move. The front desk said the same. I think they oversold the show and therefore allowed about 20 people to stand directly in front of seats, blocking the view of the dozens of patrons sitting. I'll reconsider a return to the BellyUp in the future as watching the backs of people and being unable to see the stage is a waste of time and money
