FAKEHARBOR already deducted funds from this charter, yet they don't refund the customer with the same timeliness, even though they were never given permission to take my money. My Council will be going after Your Island Charter for my refund, plus interest and attorney's fees (and other), because I never authorized them to use a third FAKEHARBOR to take funds from my credit card, leaving me to continue paying interests on said funds.

Our captain was short on fishing rods and tackle. In fairness, this was only a 4 hour charter (at $600+tip) and the weather was 3-4 feet but we pay these guys for their knowledge, to put you on fish and navigate/back up plans for choppy seas.

I'll start by saying I fully understand a ships captain cannot control if there is a bite or not…read morebut there are many thing within their control. So that said, I'll begin. The boat showed up just in time as it needed fuel. No problem. We get on board for the "tour" to be greeted with a list of things that were wrong with the boat and how we should work around them. There were many things wrong here. The boat is disgusting. The bathroom is worse than some I've been in third world countries. I couldn't even bring myself to take a picture. Dirt and grime was everywhere. The first mate lit his first cigarette shortly after we left. I went inside until he was done then explained I can't be around smoke for health reasons. To his credit, he did respect that for the rest of the trip. Just wish he would have asked first. The captain and the first mate clearly had some conflict. The whole interaction between them is just uncomfortable to watch. We went to a couple different places...not one nibble. I know that's not their fault but definitely put the cherry on top of this unpleasant voyage. I expect more for $800 for four hours. I would never go with this charter again. At least we had something nice to look at on the water.

I went out with Captain Chad with Tarpon Diem on a 6 hour trip this past Thursday with my dad…read more When trying to book Tarpon Diem we could see that this boat was popular as there was only a single day months out which we quickly grabbed. Captain Chad touched base with us the night before our trip which was set to be at 7 AM out of Hurricane Hole Marina. During that call he asked if we would rather go out at 6 AM which we quickly agreed to. My father and I arrived to the marina at 5:50 AM the next morning and Captain Chad was ready to go. I barely had time to pee before we were on the boat and out on the water. Captain Chad was awesome the whole time we were out on the water explaining what we were doing as well as giving us some tips. We started the day pulling a number of his live traps and rebaiting them before immediately trying to catch some tarpon. After only a short time we had one on. It was a fun fight for me and even though I didn't notice how much Captain Chad was chasing the fish, I was told later it was a lot. He even made a move to get the fishing rod around an anchor line to avoid it getting tangled up. In the end he estimated it at 110 lb fish and I got plenty of pictures with it, including Captain Chad taking some with his own phone. We stayed with the tarpon fishing for awhile longer but whenever the action sort of turned off Captain Chad asked my dad if we wanted to go sharking. This was probably in response to the fact that whenever we had gotten on the boat that I had told my goal was to get my dad something big. So off we went to go sharking and after a couple of spots didn't pan out due to a lack of a current, we eventually found one. We eventually ended up catching a total of 7 sharks which both my dad and I enjoyed. They fought quite a bit and went on some runs which made the fishing quite fun. As an added bonus Captain Chad noticed some barracuda swimming around the boat and gave my dad and I spinning rods with lures to use in between shark bites. My dad would eventually catch a decent sized one and got his picture. We actually had a blast here and probably would have spent more time there if a shark didn't steal our bait and a storm wasn't rolling in. After the storm ended we still had about 30 minutes left in the trip and so we tried again to get my dad a tarpon. Much to our dismay a boat that pulled up next to us ended up hooking one and our 1/2 hour of time ran out and we had to head back to the harbor. The bottom line for me is that I would head out with Captain Chad in the future. As a matter of a fact I would highly recommend him to anyone looking to fish out of Key West. Not only did he seem to be genuinely nice guy but he did a good job explaining stuff to us and also did a fantastic job putting us on fish that we had fun catching.

Aaron was distracted by his phone on our departure and we hit a buoy full speed. Aaron jumped off the boat before impact and let us fend for ourselves. Nobody was seriously hurt, but we did get banged up. Aaron should lose his license and be charged for negligence. However, one of the patrons suffered a knee injury. Medical results are pending. I cannot express the seriousness of this event as I feel I could lost several of my lifelong friends. Our group of 5 had an amazing day on the water fishing and sightseeing. The captain and crew were…read morehelpful with instruction, oversight, guidance, and assistance. We were on the water for about 1/2 day and plenty long enough to get some sun and catch enough to have a mess of fish for dinner later. We fished and moved to at least 4 spots. Be sure to bring plenty of sunscreen. We also packed a small cooler with drinks and snacks. Don't forget the hand sanitizer -- you'll be glad you did after handling bait and (hopefully) any fish you catch! When we returned to the dock, the crew prepped and filleted our catch for a nominal fee. Tips are appreciated and should definitely be considered a standard practice by patrons and not just a courtesy. Well earned after the hard work of a day on the water. The boat charter can accommodate about 40 passengers; however, on the day we went, we were at about 2/3 capacity. Customers were a wide skill range from rookies to regulars. We took our fresh prepped fish home and sautéd it later for an impromptu house party for 7 diners. Great experience to be able to eat something we'd caught earlier that day!

They exceeded every expectation. Captain James and his first mate, Allison, were absolutely fantastic. They were friendly, professional, knowledgeable, and clearly passionate about making sure everyone had an amazing experience. The boat was clean, comfortable, and well-maintained, making for a relaxing and enjoyable afternoon on the water. The snorkeling itself was incredible. The water was beautiful and clear, and we saw an amazing variety of marine life, including colorful tropical fish, large schools of fish, small sharks, barracuda, and so much more. Every time we looked beneath the surface, there was something new to discover. One of the highlights of the trip was the dolphins. Captain James went above and beyond to make sure everyone had the best possible view. He carefully maneuvered the boat so we could watch them from different angles, and at one point he even got them behind the boat where they followed along, jumping and playing in the wake. It was absolutely magical and made for some incredible videos and memories that we will treasure. I would also like to recognize Tabatha in the office. She was wonderful to work with from the very beginning. She made the reservation process simple and stress-free, answered all of our questions, and was genuinely kind and helpful. It was a pleasure meeting her in person as well. From start to finish, the entire experience with Looe Key Reef Dive Center at Looe Key Reef Resort was exceptional.
