This was the worst experience I have ever had with a hotel. The room was run down and very dirty. The sheets had many stains and feces on the bathroom wall. When I requested a refund they denied it saying I used the shower and bed and I definitely didn't. Look at the attached pictures. Do NOT stay here!

I was able to book last minute for my party of 9. The snorkeling was incredible. We saw turtles, sharks, barracudas dolphins! Not to mention all the beautiful smaller fish and coral. James, Kate, and Doug were pleasant, helpful and professional. I really appreciated that they supplied reef safe sunscreen and instructed us on how to protect the beautiful setting while having fun.

Hands down the best. We come here every year. Snorkeled all over the keys and this is not only our go to for experience but Katie and crew (& Rudder) are just the coolest.

We LOVE going snorkeling and diving with Looe Key Reef Resort! Captain James and Captain Katie are extraordinarily knowledgeable about the reef and are so much fun. Mate Josh is so funny and helpful and all the staff at the dive shop and restaurant are awesome. Thank you for always making our family feel welcome and wanted. I highly recommend the seared ahi and the fish dip...my favorites!

Best snorkeling in the keys,! Captain James is the best! Snorkeled with sharks, give parrot fish that you could hear chomping on the coral.

Damage list for room items.

After looking at this "resort" website, we booked two nights here. This was for two people, my wife and myself, and we wanted to do some snorkeling while we were in the area. After walking into the room, we quickly realized that this was not a good idea. The rooms are less than basic - no headboards, minimum decor, and the bathroom could use a good power washing. I have stayed in a lot of places, but never seen a damage list for every item in the room (see the attached photo) maybe so the clientele can figure out how much they can afford to trash or steal ahead of time? We decided since the room was abysmal, we would sit by the pool until it was time for our snorkel trip. The pool is directly off of the highway, and the road noise is very loud. We took the snorkel/dive boat about 6 miles out to the reef for a two stop snorkel. When we got back on the boat between snorkels, the boat reeked of weed, which is strange, because the only ones remaining on the boat were crew members. Not cool if the captain and mate were lighting up while they are responsible for 19 snorkelers/divers. (Do what you want on your own time, but not while you are captaining a boat and responsible for guests - it's not like your guests could swim back to shore if you forgot someone). After a long day of driving to get to the "resort" and several snorkel stops, we were ready to go back to the room and relax, but our awful room was next to the Tiki bar where live music played until 9:30pm. The next night the tiki bar was packed and the live music lasted until 11pm, after which we were treated to some guy on his Harley outside of our door blasting a Jelly Roll song on repeat. This was probably a motel built in the 1950's or 1960's, and is in dire need of a good cleaning and update. Seriously, at $350.00 a night, I would implore the owners to spend some money to make this a decent place to stay. I would recommend staying here only as a last "resort".

Incredible SNORKELING AND DIVES!!! If you snorkel or dive, Looe Key is for you. The reef is a 10 star with abundant marine life and scientists working to heal and grow more coral. WE called last minute and got on the boat, Captain Katie and her crew were top notch with everyone's safety and enjoyment their priority. The crew is highly experienced and knows the area, it's waterways and the marine life. They worked well with all ages and experience levels. This boat was fun from the first step onboard. AS for the equipment, they personally fitted each snorkeler to ensure the fins and mask were a good fit. (that was a first...( other boats just give you equipment) Couple things above the norm... snacks and drinks were offered on a tab for the ride back and they offered a fresh water rinse off. Much needed after all the salt water. I will go back and I will bring more friends... Love the crew, the reef and the sights. Thank you to everyone that made my experience positive and fun.

This was our 6th trip to Looe Key on Wednesday, May 20. James was our Captain, who we have had 5 times before since 2015. This was our first time on the smaller boat. We could not have had a better trip. The water was crystal clear, we have never seen it this clear before. The visibility was amazing. James took us to 2 good spots, and we saw sharks both times. No Goliath grouper this trip but plenty of colorful fish. We also saw some dolphins and they had a baby with them. James made sure we got to see them. We also saw some turtles. What an awesome trip and a perfect day. Snorkeling Looe Key is one of our favorite things to do in the Keys.

Excellent day on the water. The captain was a lady! I'll be back soon. I can't wait to see that reef again.

You have the option to dive or snorkel, and the dive shop will supply you with anything you need before you go. Its $50 per person for snorkelers, and you'll be in the water for two hours. You can choose to bring your own food & snacks, or you can run a tab and purchase whatever they have on offer (chips, water, sodas, beer, etc). They supply the eco-friendly sunscreen. We went out on the Kokomo Cat II with Captain Katie & Josh, and I can't say enough good things about them. You couldn't ask more a more fun pair of people to take you out to Looe Key. They were extremely knowledgeable and you can tell how much they genuinely care about the imperiled coral ecosystem. There is not an aquarium in the world that can match the diversity of marine life that you will see out at this reef. On the two days we went out, we saw dolphins, sea turtles, caribbean reef sharks, nurse sharks, goliath grouper, green morays, spotted eagle rays, pufferfish, barracuda, hogfish, squirrelfish, various species of parrotfish, angelfish, snapper, filefish, & wrasse. And don't even get me started on the schools of blue tang. If you're in Key West, forget about Sea Fury and do yourself a favor and make the 30 min drive over to Ramrod Key. Strongly recommend! Also, bring a GoPro!

We rented Molly (21ft Switch) for one day and we had a blast! These boats are so much fun and great for the keys! We received an email the day before letting us know Molly would be ready the next day and also where to park, temperature, wind and seas information which was great and super helpful! Getting to the dock was easy, Thomas and Maryanne were there to greet us and help us with our bags which was wonderful. Thomas went over a little safety briefing and how everything works on the switch. We were thankful for a cooler with ice and a few drinks, as we forgot to buy ice for our cooler so that was great! After a few minutes, we were on our way! Returning back, Thomas and Maryanne were there to greet us again at the dock and help us offload our stuff. Everything ran smoothly and so easy and they were both so lovely to us! All in all, we had a great time and couldn't be happy with the service we received from Sandbarjetboats. We will definitely be back and rent from them again (if my husband doesn't buy his own switch! Haha). But we were very happy and HIGHLY RECOMMEND them! 5 stars all the way!

We settled in and set off for the ride to Looe Coral reserve for snorkeling- 1st stop. We beat the crowds and secured the best tie off spot. We spent about an hour enjoying the below the surface life. We even swam with a sea turtle. The snorkeling was the best I've ever experienced, and I guess that's why Looe Key is one of the top ten worldwide snorkeling places listed in last month's issue of SCUBA. After capturing some kicking videos underwater with the GoPro, we climbed back aboard and headed out to the flats to check out a few sand bars. He picked a great spot, devoid of other fun seekers and after a beat we opted to head out for more touring. We went back into the mangroves and checked out the local sights. Cap'n Clint was so forthcoming with information and he is knowledgeable and so much fun! He has history here, and it shows. I hope to go again and I am definitely booking this for when my family comes to visit. Things spotted while boating: sea turtle diving, sting ray, some type of shark (No dolphins, . this time, but they're out there somewhere!) Things not spotted: other tours . Thank you Clint Moore for a great day- we will try for better than baloney on bread next time (bad on us)
