OMG this place is amazing! The beer is outstanding - best I've had in Baltimore. I'm not into fruity beers, so I can't speak on those, but their IPAs are incredible. I've only got food from here once (so far... I just moved to the neighborhood last month). I'm always a little reluctant to review food that was packaged to go because it's a little unfair to the chef. But this is where we are now. So here goes: We got the burger, hot chicken, and fried tofu. There wasn't much to the tofu, to be honest. It's kinda sad to open a box and see 9 cubes of fried tofu. But it was just $6 so whatever. I'm sure it'd have been more pleasant on a plate. The burger was delish. It was a teeny bit soggy but I think that's due to sitting in a box for 10 minutes. I can't wait to try it in house, I have a feeling it'll stack up on my list of "Best Burgers I've Ever Had" (Husk is currently #1). The hot chicken was also great, perfectly fried, very crispy. That said, it's not "real" Nashville style hot chicken - the sauce is far too smoky. I think they used smoked paprika when it should just be regular paprika and cayenne. But that's a quibble from a hot chicken fanatic who visits Nashville a couple times a year. The sandwich was delicious despite my issues with their heterodox approach. I'm so excited to have this place within walking distance of my new house. I keep trying new breweries from around the city and reconfirming that my local spot, Wet City, is by leaps and bounds the best (despite their limited list). I've only done about half the breweries so far, so I can't say that Wet City is flat out the best. But I have a feeling... Edit: I should mention, when I first moved here and was looking at places to check out, I totally skipped over this. The decor and menu looked like they were trying way too hard to be hip. There's not much that makes it stand out over other bars but every time I've been here I've been totally satisfied. The staff is also super friendly and they have outdoor space which is nice during Covid. When you walk in a row of menus are on the left instructing you to take one and grab a seat. Your choices of seats are either at the long bar or in the open floor plan which includes 2 tops or 4 tops with chairs or large picnic tables. Each table has a little sign that informs the guest that it is tavern style service and you must go to the bar to order your food and drinks. There is a water cooler station clearly marked with large plastic cups for you to help yourself. It was a Tuesday night and the atmosphere was chill. My husband and I split the short rib grilled cheese, and the hot chicken; both were delicious, the drinks were well-made, the service was uninviting. Scott, our bartender was great at giving suggestions and telling us about each drink, which they have plenty of. Super nice guy. So this place was just the cutest. I had a friend ask me to meet him here and I thought it was some type of joke. Wet City? What's that? Are you joking? are you being sarcastic? The parking actually wasn't better so that was already a first great impression. The lighting and the ambience was really nice. I felt at home when I first walked in. I sat at the bar where every bartender was extremely nice. Throughout the night they continuously came over to ask everything was ok or if it was anything else that was needed! A great lunch spot. I enjoy coming here for the lunch special. They have 1/2 salad, sandwich, and soup available and each time I've tried a new combo, I have been pleasantly surprised. Was skeptical of Wet City at first, thinking we didn't need some cool-guy beer bar around the corner from Brewer's Art. But the beer selection is one of the most interesting in Baltimore, turns over at a good clip and goes well with the grub. The bartenders are excellent and know the suds, now including Wet City's own (generally IPAs and sours). Love that everything is available in a half-pour. Some of the food seems a little steep but when you consider its quality plus the beer and cocktail options, all of which are reasonable... just get there early and take advantage of the specials if you want to save a few bucks. A place like Wet City opening up in Baltimore simply just makes me happy. I know I've been gone for a while so may not have realized how much Baltimore is changing but this is the kind of local watering hole I've always liked. It's got a good selection of drinks & beer, the food is spot on, and you can go there all the time. Located off the main strip in Mt. Vernon this new bar is great. It has a great selection of beers, cocktails and wines. The apps were quite interesting, but I admit, can be hit or miss. As you enter, grab a clipboard and get to work. Service is quick, which is great, and waiters will take your order within minutes! Although the white walls give off this sort of sterile vibe, the dim lighting and variety of high tops, low tables, and combination chairs for 2-6 people make this an excellent place to go on a date or meet a group of people. This place is an excellent place to end your night. Open late, they welcome all and are perfect for when you just want a little more fun! I like that they're 1) not trying too hard but 2) are not afraid to try new things, like Popcorn Carbonara (which I might suggest you stay away from because frankly, it was just popcorn with egg). The crispy brussel sprouts were drenched (I mean marinated and soaked) in balsamic vinegar which made them just too sour and not crunchy at all, but hey, you win some, you lose some. MUST GO for craft beer nerds. They have a great selection with enough of a mix of IPAs, stouts, ales, and sours to satisfy the different tastes of people in your party. Which, I know, doesn't offer a ton of competition but it's still very good. Would it hold up to Nashville? No. But it's delicious and the perfect beer-food. I am not so sure about the food, but the quality of drinks definitely makes this place an institution. The service is at the bar, but at all times the seating is easy to find, the minimalist decor in the late 70th style is aesthetically pleasing and the choice of beers is overwhelming, to say the least. The crowd hanging out here are mostly students from the nearby Arts School, so the crowd is fun and eclectic and definitely feels like a change from the Baltimore usual mood. The beer is good, but the vibe here seems to be needlessly hipstery and pretentious-hence, the beer is frankly overpriced. You can get bigger pours of similar tasting stuff for cheaper elsewhere. The food options are limited and also overpriced, and our orders (of fancy tater tots) took a very long time to come out. Their happy hour deals are frankly not worth it--snacks are only $1 off, the only discounted food is the hot chicken, and only very specific sizes of beer will be discounted. If a beer you want isn't offered according to their arbitrary size guidelines, you can't order it in a larger or smaller pour (and thus can't get a happy hour deal on it). Definition of a hidden gem. Used to live very close to wet city and it's a great place to grab a beer and some bites. Happy hour is Monday through Friday until 7pm. They always have a great selection of IPA's on tap and their food is pretty good as well. I've tried the chicken and pretzels. I have been going to wet city since they first opened and I have always loved the atmosphere about this place. As soon as you walk in you are greeted with great the mood lighting and even better music and refreshments. My top favorites are their fruity beers. I usually get whatever is on tap and their double patty smash burger. This is one of the best burgers in baltimore City. It tastes as if you decided to make a burger at home; never disappoints when it comes to flavor and overall presentation, and comes with fries. It's honestly worth every penny. I also enjoy their hot fried chicken. These are both staples on the menu and can be ordered year round. This place is very assuming from the outside but is a great space for a date night or just a chill night with friends. Their drink list is pretty extensive and overall is a great experience. Finally went in--the brightness has always put me off a bit, but since the sun was still up, it didn't seem as weird. I sat at the bar anxious to dive into that stellar and constantly changing beer list. I appreciate the brief descriptions, prices, and sizes available listed. I love smaller sizes to encourage sampling! Prices are reasonable for the premium selections, and include tax. That's kinda nice. The decor, while sparse, is a nice contrast to the usual bar scenery. Music was a bit loud for just a few people. I like that they had one tv that was turned off. Nice to have that option, but not have on distracting nothingness. Service, on the other hand, was just ok. The guys behind the bar just didn't seem very engaging, and one in particular had an angry tone. Disappointing, because there is a lot of intriguing offerings--obscure spirits and a slushy machine with googly eyes, but no one seemed enthusiastic about being there, let alone entertaining my curiosities. Also, at one point, a guy came in and waited several minutes with money in hand, and was never helped. Maybe there's a story there, but it just didn't look good. I also overheard a woman apologize to her companion for having to wait so long for his cocktail, because I'm a weirdo eavesdropper. Great beer selection, the two times I've been in here I've had the pleasure of speaking with the owner. He is very knowledgeable about beer, which is a change of pace from alot of these places. Also if your tired of trying the same old beer.. same brewing Company's.. you need to go here he serves delicious oce cold obscure selections, it amazing. If your a REAL beer drinker... Wet city is a great place for drinks. They are a go to spot for me because they serve half pints and have a great beer selection. I love the half pints because they're roughly half the price and they also give you the option of drinking less if you feel so inclined. It's a great way to try out new beers. The location is great and the decor is quite nice and unique. The place is spacious and put to good use with interesting lighting and artwork on the walls. The food is fine (not the best not the worst) but it's quite expensive. Frankly, I would say it's overpriced. It's a little nicer than basic bar food but it's hard to find much on the menu for less than $15. My wife and I always go here trying to eat a light dinner on the cheap and it never works out. Also, be aware they don't provide table service during the week so you order both drinks and food at the bar. Overall, I'm happy to have them in the neighborhood but I just wish their food options were a better value. read more

This was a great place for an early family dinner. The co-owner PJ (I really hope I remembered that correctly!!) was an incredible server with his enthusiasm and interest in our every need. Before he ever waited on us I let him know there were no paper towels in the bathroom as I came out. He smiled broadly and thanked me and then rushed off to fill it up. I was so impressed with the little gesture and the care he showed in wanting things to be just right. We had our 3 kids ages 6/4/2 with us at 6pm on a Thursday. The staff was very accepting of our 3 kids and their "dance party," behind our table. They gave lots of high fives and encouragement. The fries were exceptional! There is an interesting drink menu and even the complicated cocktails were fast to arrive.
