I came to exchange my Apple phone case because it was peeling off, and I have a one-year warranty. However, they refused to help, explaining that they are not an Apple Store, even though they call themselves "Apple Experts." I spoke with the receptionist, who said she would contact upper management and get back to me, but I never received a call. A couple of days later, I stopped by again, this time asking to speak with a salesperson, as an Apple service technician had recommended it. As soon as I started to explain my issue, the salesperson immediately refused to send my case to Apple, claiming it would cost too much. He then began yelling at me very loudly, telling me to leave because it was "private property," and verbally abused me, calling me names. I was in shock and couldn't believe how aggressively he was acting. I honestly felt scared, as if he might even become physically abusive. His name is Mark Nelson, and his behavior was completely unprofessional, frightening, and unacceptable. I will never return to this store, and I cannot recommend it to anyone. It was rude and disturbing, and I feel it's important to report this so that it doesn't happen to anyone else. Please avoid this store. read more

I purchased a new iMac from WestWorld in Edmonton in 2020, only to later discover that the model had actually been manufactured in 2017 -- three years prior. This significantly reduced the lifespan of software support and performance, something I believe should've been clearly disclosed at the time of sale. When I brought this up, the store claimed they didn't know the model year, but as a certified Apple retailer, I find that extremely hard to believe. Most recently, I returned to the store on April 7, 2025, to have the iMac checked, already knowing (based on Apple's own diagnostic support) that the issues were related to its age. I explained this to both the service desk and to Jessica, who helped me when I picked it up. Her customer service was not professional -- she appeared frustrated with the number of customers waiting and did not speak kindly or respectfully to anyone at the desk. Jessica brought my computer out from the back carrying it in her hands, not in the box I had originally provided for protection. I immediately noticed a substance smeared on the screen. When I asked about it, she responded dismissively, saying it was from her hands, then casually sprayed Windex on a cloth and wiped the screen -- a method that is not recommended for Apple displays. I was shocked by the lack of care and attention shown to such an expensive piece of equipment. For a premium product and premium price, this experience has left me feeling completely misled and disappointed -- both with the product I received and the treatment I received from staff. Not what I'd expect from an Apple-certified store. Now, just five years later, I'm left needing to purchase a new computer -- something I wouldn't expect after investing in what I believed was a brand-new iMac. I highly recommend that anyone considering a purchase from this store ask for -- and receive written proof of -- the computer's manufacturing date before completing a sale. I've been going to WestWorld since the before times...and by that I mean before Apple Stores. They do sales and services there so you can use them as an alternative to going to an Apple Store. They also have a great showroom to look at all sorts of Apple and third-party products. They also have some great used products. I recently upgraded my very old Mac-mini to something more recent without spending a ton. I also got a great deal on a colour laser printer and added a webcam to my system for virtual meetings. Covid info - They have curbside service. They also limit the number of people in the store and masks have been mandatory for staff and customers. There is a hand sanitizing station and the staff are diligent about sanitizing their hands before and after they handle anything. read more

DO NOT TAKE YOUR PHONE HERE FOR SERVICE. Took my 2 month old iphone here on Saturday due to a non working home button. They did some tests and said it needed a new screen. I picked it up and by the time I got home, the screen was glitchy and the home button wasn't working. By the morning the the phone was totally dead. I took it back and left it there all day and it was returned to me saying that there wasn't anything wrong with it. I wiped it down with a disinfectant wipe and the screen started turning white then tuned to a rainbow effect. I took it back the next day and they said it has water damage, and my only option was to get a new phone. Total amateurs working here. My husband and I have dealt with this Company for many years. We are 78 years old, and decided to do an upgrade for our I-Mac. We told salesperson we were tired of change, and wanted some relief. So he (asian man) sold us a computer with 5 plugs in the page. Did not reveal that none of them were USB plugs. He was dishonest with us, by withholding information. I would junk this computer before entering the door at this store. The salesman told us we had the opportunity to look closer! We are not newbies to the computer. I are both retired career people. Now we have adapters hanging off the back with a snaggle of plugs. I have to unplug the printer in order to install a brand UPS map updater. I bought two "Lifeproof" (expensive) phone cases on Saturday. The lady at the counter opened one to show me. I took them both but only installed one at home before thinkog of opening the second. I really did not like the Lifespoof case because the plastic cover on the front arched and left a space so that you had to press hard to get through to the phone to operate it. Immediately removed the first case and repacked it. Never opened the second one. I took them back on Monday and the man inspected them and discovered that the second one had been opened (before I bought it!) and was dirty and missing the documents. No amount of trying to convince him that I had never opened the second one would persuade him. I guess I'm the sucker for not inspecting both cases before leaving the store, but being told that they would never have sold an item like like was paramount to calling me a liar. They refunded the first but not the second. Grr. I trusted them that the product on the shelf was new but ended up getting screwed because it wasn't. I'm never going back and intend on spreading as much bad press as I can over the incident for the $110 they screwed me out of. read more

Worst customer service ever. Uncomfortable atmosphere. No greeting. No welcoming smile. No what can we help you with. Just what do you need/want; then the 'woman in charge' simply told a junior employee what she needed to get and she moved straight to the cash register where I was to pay. Okay - what just happened? An elderly gentleman came in he wasn't greeted either. When he told the woman he needed help with his computer she told him he needed an appointment (he didn't have one). When I had paid she told him we can make an appointment now if you want. There was no one in the store only the junior employee and a tech sitting in the back. I recommend you think twice before giving WestWorld Computers your business. Yes, they have all the Apple stuff you need but for me, personally, it is also the 'service experience' that matters. I left because the service - or should I say lack of service - was so brutal, I didn't want to spend my hard-earned cash. I wasn't even greeted or offered help. I felt attitude. The show space was too sleek and the sales people were too oblivious. I ended up going to Best Buy, where the sales people literally line up to help you, and your questions are answered promptly. I made a purchase in less than 15 minutes and never looked back. I've been handling all my computer issues at Best Buy ever since. As a Mac specialty store you'd think they'd be making the extra effort these days, 'cause they're not the only ones who've caught on to Mac Fever. Step it up, West World. So my first Mac product EVER crashed on me yesterday and wouldn't restart. I was in a PaNiC because I had my son 10 days ago and all of his newborn pictures were on the laptop that just crashed and of course we hadn't backed them up yet! So we immediately tried troubleshooting based on the online forums - no luck. MORE PANIC!!! Went online and booked an appointment for 45 minutes later at the Genius Bar at the Apple Store in West Ed. Packed up the whole family - 10 day old baby in tote - and went down to West Ed - Good grief! Met with our assigned Genius Bar employee at Apple who determined that our hard drive was starting to fail on us - he said if we replaced it right away the pictures should be recoverable. He was so honest that he told us if we went to West World Computers down the road that we would be able to get a harddrive double the size for the same price because it didn't really need to be an "apple" brand harddrive. KUDOS to him for his honestly. Besides, we have 4, that's right 4 FREAKING apple computers and laptops in our house and 2 iPhones and 4 iPods... So Apple has easily squeezed 10K out of us in the past decade or so... They won't be hurting if we don't drop another $200 there on a harddrive. So we sauntered off to West World where Hugo assisted us and was super helpful and friendly. He did try to upsell us on diagnostics but respected our wish to only first replace the harddrive and to go from there if that didn't do the trick. He even offered us a refurbished harddrive for $50 off of the normal price and we were able to more than double the size of harddrive available for the same price at the Apple store! Hugo helped us with a few of our other Apple questions and was efficient and thorough. My computer was fixed by the end of the day and we will definitely be back! Still a huge fan of the Apple store in West Edmonton Mall - but West World definitely won me over with their service! Also noticed they have trade in deals on their computers and such... I visited this place as I was considering a Mac....lets just say their service did not exactly make a convincing argument to get one. There were hardly and sales staff on the main floor, and I felt as if I was being pre-evaluated by the others just standing around. They were less than helpful the moment I grabbed hold of one of them; they were oblivious as anything and could not give me any quote on student price discounts. Where's the cheery service that's suppose to distinguish Mac? I did not like their store arrangement either. All their accessories were horribly organized and their prices were not even close to being competitive with other electronic stores. They argued everything was 'Mac-exclusive', yet I found the exact same iPod case at the nearby Best Buy for 20% cheaper. I went in for my appointment and showed them what keys needed to be replaced and they said it was all good and that apple would cover it. How did my experience at West Word go? Not the greatest, I definitely left with a flame of angry, disappointment, and over all disgust in my body. My family has been shopping at West World for over 12 years and the service here has gone downhill BY FAR! The older gentlemen that sold me my MacBook Air was just blatantly unfriendly. Like when I would ask a question regarding resolution, screen size, or comparing prices, he just had a undying tone of, "why would you ask such a dumb question?Don't you know this?" So reluctantly I couldn't find the model of the Air anywhere else in Edmonton, so I bought it. About a month later, coming back to West World, deciding to give them another chance, I had some questions about downloading Microsoft onto my new Air and how to do so and what not. The young brown-haired gentlemen at the service counter, somehow had stolen the first older gentlemen's rude spirit (from before) and somehow treated me twice as worse. I asked him questions about my air and he just stared at me and gave off arrogant expressions when I asked questions. He relied with "that is simple enough" to my questions, acting like I should have known this already. It made me feel uncomfortable and overall lacking in intelligence. Once I brought up Windows PCs and compared them to Apple Mac, he completely shut me down and said, "we don't deal with Anything Microsoft or 'PC' here". I give Westworld five stars for great service to me personally, and to my dental clinic for the past 20 years. Recently we installed 12 Mac minis and an iMac at my clinic along with 24 monitors. They came in and delivered everything on time, and installed everything for us on time and on budget. We were having to use a Windows product for our digital X-ray so all of these computers needed Software bridges and a lot of expertise to get the Mac and Windows sides to work together. They helped train us and were on site multiple times to hold our hands during the implementation of our new equipment and Software. Westworld couldn't have been more supportive and I thank them for going the extra mile. All hard costs and labour and terms were estimated up front by Calvin Anderson our representative at Westworld, and he was not only helpful during the purchase - he was even on site during install to make sure everything went smoothly. I especially encourage businesses to seek out Westworld for their Mac computer and computer support needs. They can handle everything from setting up a printer to very complicated and large networking Mac systems. Five stars for sure. Give them a try. read more

Westworld used to be the best Mac shop around until the new Apple store came, now it feels like everybody has a chip on their shoulder. This may have nothing to do with the timing of the new Apple store at West Edmonton Mall, but the service I have received has declined accordingly. The sad part is I would be just as happy to stay a Westworld customer if I didn't feel like it was a burden on the employees every time I walk in the door. Recently when I have come in I find the floor salespeople to be sub-par. And the girls at the cashier till to be apathetic and lack the friendly demeanor one would expect from "Apple" types. (note to manager, hire cashiers that are more happy; oh, and the girls who are on the right side when you walk in the store, what do they do? Answer the phone? Could they move them somewhere else, it detracts from an engaging consumer experience when the first 4 people you see when you walk in the store are people that are not going to be helping you at all, or at least not till you checkout) One of the traditionally awesome things about Apple lovers is, well, their love of everything Apple and the resulting enthusiasm about "knowing" everything Apple. Now, it feels like this essence is gone at WestWorld. The people at Westworld really know their stuff, and have been selling Apple products longer than anyone else in Edmonton. Possibly the biggest advantage with buying at Westworld is that they have in-store Apple certified repair so, in the unlikely event that your Mac gets sick, they can fix it right there instead of you shipping it to Apple. I tell everyone looking for an Apple to go to Westworld. I recommend them highly and am confident they will not disappoint you. Service is a little slow, but good. They'll talk to you on the phone, check stock and hold products for you. Often they'll tell you product is not in stock whereas it actually is. Product knowledge too is relatively deficient, so it might be more for businesses or people who are looking for product and repairs only, rather than product selection. While their bench rate is lower than Apple, I am wary of their inconsistent 'charge as much as the customer will pay' pricing for both the service and third-party parts for upgrades. They have to do at least as much as they do given the stiff competitition from and greater and faster product inventory, better deals, hassle-free returns and free data transfer at the Apple Store. I see this place more as one for business customers as they sell discontinued and used products that might be needed by a business. read more

Being an Apple User, how did my Android Lover of a Fiance take me here to revive my dying Apply Laptops of more than 5 years. Right off 170street, independent store with private parking lot. What Apple Store could not accomplish with old computers, WestWorld definitely gave it their best shot. Services ranging from AppleCare, Selling of products and providing individual Businesses with matching technology. You can either walk-in, call to book for an appointment and/or see the website online (very easy to use). I called in to book for one computer and the next walked -in. Both times services was fast and the staff was extremely knowledgeable. Honest and upfront about whether or not my computer had any chance of revival- it only cost 50$ for diagnostic and that was worth it. My second computer - revived! They offered to delete info from the old product and recycle but that cost 150$, that was the only thing i didnt think was worth it. Products can be traded in and they have some reasonable payment plans for products they sell. Great secondary option for Apply patriots other than the Apple Store. I've had some ongoing fan issues with an older iMac; I phoned Westworld up, and over the phone they said it was a common problem with these older machines, and would be around $50 to take a look at it and another $50 for a fan (they said they stocked new and used parts). I dropped it off, at which point I was told the diagnosis would be $98 - I figured that would be okay, so $150 for the repair. They ran a diagnostic right on the counter, and it came up as the optic drive fan. A day later I got a call from their service department - the girl said 'yes, it's the drive fan, and these machines are 'vintage' so we don't carry any parts. Would you like us to keep it and dispose of it? We have a recycling program.' No 'sorry, we have some bad news on your machine', no suggestions for a suitable replacement, no apology for basically doing nothing in terms of additional diagnostics. I explained to the 'sales' guys as I was leaving that this was actually an optimal sales opportunity; firstly, they should have informed me immediately that the machine was 'vintage' and no parts were available. But, beyond that, you now have a cusomter with a clear need for a replacment machine, and rather than help them understand the issue, come up with some suitable suggestions, and help them out, you just grab their cash and send them on the way. I use five machines between home and work, and I'll buy a replacement within days. Guess they don't really need another customer though. On my way home I stopped at Future Shop and checked the macs out there - very helpful sales guy. I think businesses like this do a great job of increasing online sales for mac - they're not terrible operations, they're just not very good, and they don't care about gaining new customers. It makes buying a machine online really easy and enjoyable in comparison, and definitely makes you want to try a few other stores for service. I brought my children's computer in for service. I get that it's over 5 years old, but it's for the kids and I wanted to see what could be done. Our service tech'a first step was to tell me to buy a new computer. I asked why it suddenly stopped working, he said that there was too much on the desktop. I said that the desktop was always full. He said I needed to buy more ram memory. I asked whether all the existing ram was being used all the time. He didn't know, someone showed him how to look it up. He ran a diagnostic test which showed the fan wasn't working. He said that the computer was too old and there are no longer any parts. I asked whether it could be repaired. He said no, but did I still want to buy the additional ram? A quick google search at home shows that there is lots of information and help on fixing the fan. I have purchased all my computers and iPad from here. Bought a lightning cord, for my iPhone for my car. It has not worked well at all, it was less than 4 months old. Had pkg and receipt and the gal spoke with the manager who approached me and ugly face and I even commented on his facial expression. He said it worked on his phone, it was charging it and he couldn't resell it. I told him I didn't think he should because it was not working well at all. But it worked for him! Then he showed me where it was kinked and and said again he could not resell it. Sometime things are made poorly and have flaws. I am going in to Westworld to pick up my Mac book Air. I fell and landed on top of my beloved computer when I was crossing the street in Times Square NY. It wouldn't turn on after that. A very sad girl is now happy because my Apple protection plan completely covered the repair. Westworld replaced the logic board and I have always been happy with the service they provide. Five months ago, I purchased an Otterbox cable at West World to recharge my IPad. I was told it was an excellent product that was long lasting. But six days ago the cable quit working altogether and when I phoned the store I was reassured the cable had an excellent warranty and that I could bring it in for a replacement. I was advised to phone ahead to make sure the store was not too crowded. I did phone ahead this morning and learned to my dismay that their sales department had completely reversed its narrative. I was informed they would not replace the cable and that I would have to contact the supplier myself. I was given a customer service number for Otterbox, and after I recovered from the unpleasant shock of dealing with West World sales staff's behaviour, I called Otterbox; a recording at that number announced that the customer phone service was suspended due to COVID-19 and all warranty claims would be somewhat delayed. After that, I finally managed to locate a way to reach them by email, which I have done. Hopefully, I will eventually recover my loss, but I will understandably not be purchasing any further items from West World. Although their service department has been good, I do not find their sales department to be trustworthy.g read more

Needed to back up files to a hard drive. They gave me the hard drive back with pictures of their own staff party, nothing of mine was on the drive. Very unprofessional service. I lost all my data. Very very poor service. Rude staff. They deleted all the pictures instantly and gave me back my backup drive. I got a refund, but so disappointed to lose my data. Still need to work on their lack of communication; When I went in to pay for the service, the service manager had already called me to let me know they would be removing the fee. However, the man who brought me up to the front to pay for my service had no idea and was still going to make me pay the full amount. I was lucky the service manager had caught me at the desk before I was ready to pay because otherwise I still would have payed the full price! Bought my Mac at Westworld. Technical expertise & service leave very much to be desired. E.g. #1 -- Asked how to merge 2 PDF files. Was told I needed a special program. No you don't! Staff then checked Google which had the answer. E.g. #2 -- Head phones broke off. Westworld couldn't remove the fragment. Microsoft at WEM removed it within 90 seconds. E.g. #3 -- Phoned to find out what the key was for an emblem in a shortcut. Was told everyone was busy, and someone would phone back. Waited 45 minutes. No call. Phoned back. Was put on hold. After 15 minutes I hung up. E.g., #4 -- Phoned back. Was asked the name of the sales person!! Duh!!! Like I would remember; it was months ago. Asked for my phone number. I hung up. read more

Buyer beware!!! I purchased 4 iPads and 4 cases and 4 Apple care warrant. One of tbe iPad ended up with a cracked screen I called tbe Apple store to book an appointment got there only for them to tell me the Apple care wasn't activated. They sent me back to west world. I went there explained my story and asked them to look up all the warranties to be told that only 1 out of 4 was active. They activated the others and told me I had to back to the Apple store to get a replacement. I told them I was not doing that again as I was already there and they needed to replace the product. They refused and tried to tell me then didn't have any but when asked if I could go purchase one I was told yes !! The manager Dakota told me he would call Apple and see what they would say. 40 mins later he is still on the phone no one knew for how much longer and no one would DO the RIGHT thing by replacing the iPad. I left the store very mad and 30 mins later they called me to tell me I had to bring tbe iPad to the Apple store if I wanted a replacement. So off to the Apple store only to find out they dont have any. I've shopped at this store prior, but recently needed my battery replaced; the experience was greater than I envisioned. A hot lunch, buffet style was provided that day, (I had already ate, but the effort and quality was evident) and better yet my repair was done within a couple hours. I had to get my Macbook fixed the other day (yes, things actually go wrong with Macs occasionally - not often, but on occasion). My experience with WestWorld was OK. It took them a few days to do the diagnostic tests which would have been fine with me but every time I called to check on it, they told me it was on a tech's desk or it was being worked on. This freaked me out because their prices for labor are HIGH! I ended up only getting charged the minimum charge for my laptop (only for the diagnostic test because I chose not to get the new part for $500) which led me to believe that I was lied to every time I called! It couldn't have been being worked on because I would been charged a lot more if it had (the minimum charge is only half an hour of labor). I would have appreciated the honesty and would have rather been told that they hadn't gotten a chance to look at it yet. But other than that, they were nice and they didn't try to convince me to get the part it needed. They also made a recommendation on how I could get it fixed cheaper by buying a different part somewhere else so I really appreciated that. Before Apple stores opened in Edmonton, this was where we went to get our Apple products serviced. Their tech support staff are leagues ahead of the "Genius" bars at any Apple store, and they fix any issues efficiently. I've had some hardware issues with my MacBook, and when I had to leave it there for service, they always finished before their estimated timeframe. Their sales staff are also friendly and knowledgeable, but you have to seek them out in the store. I find the layout of the store a bit hard to navigate, but I like that it's a large store with plenty of space so that you're not bumping into other customers. Sales staff are not pushy either, which I love. They are often happy to talk about products with you until you make your decision. My 6 year old MacBook finally hit the end of its days, and I had to look for a new laptop. I didn't feel rushed or pressured into buying something before I had considered all my options. I've had some issues with my external hard drive and moving data back and forth, and each time I've gotten quick service. I come here whenever I have questions, am looking for a product, or have a tech issue because every visit has been more helpful than going to the over-crowded Apple stores. read more
