Please forgive my brutally honest long review. I contacted…read moreLasikPlus not having very high expectations. My pre-conceived notion was that LasikPlus was the TJ Max of Lasik and Teplik was the Nordstrom's. I will admit I was completely wrong and boy did I have that backward. Dr. Sam from LasikPlus went above and beyond to answer my questions and concerns. Please note: I called Dr. Teplik's office concerned my Lasik had failed. and they did not allow me to speak with anyone immediately even I am their patient. Even more impressive was the professionalism by Dr. Sam. She said nothing negative about Dr. Teplik, ensured me that my vision changes were unlikely from Lasik failure, and still referred me back to Teplik for an evaluation. Regardless, Teplik under-corrected both of my eyes and I had to return for second Lasik. Dr. Sam took the time to understand my situation and concerns completely. If I had to do my Lasik over I would without a doubt go to Dr. Sam at LasikPlus. She is absolutely amazing! Teplik stopped caring about me as a patient after my first procedure and they were paid. If you want great care both before and after your Lasik, LasikPlus and Dr. Sam will surely deliver.

He basically dismissed me after I told him my profession. I asked about eye plugs after surgery and he wouldn't tell what they were, or why or why not one would need them. I waited the minimum 3 months to see how things would heal, then waited an additional 3 to see if things progressed. The latter portion was partly my decision and my scheduling challenges, but the touch-up surgery was worth waiting for. They say that this can be a common thing for about 1 in 10 patients. While going through this again 6 months after my initial surgery wasn't the idea I had going in, it was even easier than the first surgery, plus it didn't cost me a cent. I had my full vision almost immediately following and now have better than perfect vision. Had some of the same team treat me this second time around, including Dr. Madsen, but again everyone was really comforting and helpful. I love not wearing contacts or worrying about driving at night! Thank you again x2!

Before being examined for cataract surgery at Pacific Cataract and Laser Institute, I read the…read moreassociated information on their website, and then checked the online reviews. The reports of religious indoctrination and hidden charges for the examination concerned me, so I went to my appointment with some apprehension. That apprehension was short lived. My experience was 100% positive. My waiting time was less than 15 minutes, there was no religious propaganda and there were no hidden charges. When I asked upon checkout, I was told--with a smile--that my insurance covered the examination, which took roughly half an hour and obviously incurred significant costs associated with the process. Furthering the good experience, my ophthalmologist recommended that I stay with my contact lenses for a few more years. He said I could have the surgery, but the benefits wouldn't outweigh the minimal risks at this point. The company could have chosen to take my money--roughly $3,500 out-of-pocket--but they were completely honest instead. In short, last month my optometrist examined me for contact lenses and glasses, then suggested I visit an ophthalmologist as a candidate for possible cataract surgery. Yesterday, I paid nothing to do so, as medical (not vision) insurance covered the examination, and my experience was 100% professional and positive. I will certainly be back to Pacific Cataract and Laser Institute in a few years when the surgery will presumedly be needed.

I was referred there for cataract surgery. They had another optometrist assessing me instead of an…read moreophthalmologist. He said cataract surgery would likely not solve my problem but never explained what my problem was that couldn't be corrected by the cataract surgery. I was surprised by this decision so probably not able to ask the right questions but he was in a hurry and rather abrupt. Then he wrote in the notes that he had a long conversation with me and I decided against cataract surgery. The woman who saw me before him was very helpful but he was not. It is very poor care to not see an ophthalmologist before cataract surgery and let an optometrist make the decision about whether you would benefit. Then if you did have cataract surgery the surgeon would not have looked at your eyes him/her self. I am getting a referral to an ophthalmologist.

This was my third time in two years visiting the Tigard office. My wait time today was about 5 minutes. The young lady who did the preliminary exam was friendly, courteous and thorough. She asked if I had questions and answered them. When Dr. Page arrived -- less than 15 minutes after my eyes were dilated -- he did a further exam, checking my optic nerve and other parts of my eye. Dr. Page is a great listener and I didn't ever feel rushed. He answered all my questions, thoroughly explained the differences/similarities between cataract and RLE surgery, and helped me decide which type of prescription would be best. He's friendly, knowledgeable, easy to talk to, and isn't condescending like so many physicians. Should I need cataract surgery in the future, I feel confident that Dr. Page and his staff will see me through it (pun intended) successfully. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend him or this office to a friend or family member.

I was a little surprised at the 3 star rating for the Tigard Vision Center. Good thing I didn't let…read morethe negative reviews sway me from making appts for my husband and myself. Due to a few years of procrastination and then COVID, it had been 6 years since our last eye exams and getting new glasses, so we were long overdue -- when road signs become almost too blurry to see while driving, you KNOW it's time to stop procrastinating. I checked the website and I liked that appts were required so that customer visits could be spaced out in order to limit the number of people sitting in the waiting area at any one time. We were the only ones waiting when we arrived. The reception desk is directly in front when you enter and we were warmly greeted immediately. To save time, we had filled out all our paperwork online so we were all checked in. I am bad about remembering names but everyone we came in contact with was friendly and seemed like they truly enjoyed their job. There is a private parking lot and the inside of the building seemed fairly newly remodeled and was clean and well organized. Everyone is masked and masks are still required for anyone entering the building. The one person's name I did remember (as well as her great glasses!) was Lindsey (sp). I was pretty anxious about my exam since it had been so long since my last one and I'm not getting any younger these days. Lindsey expertly guided me through all the fun eye tests and answered all my questions. Dr Tammy Nguyen did our exams. She was so nice and professional and explained everything she was doing as she examined my eyes and had me read all those eye charts. I especially loved that for an extra fee, you can have a digital scan of your eyes rather than those annoying dilation drops. I was especially worried about age-related macular degeneration as both of my parents had it. Dr Nguyen assured me that there was no indication of it but I did have a few cataracts that were normal for someone my age, so we'll need to keep an eye on it. Except for the normal changes all our eyes go through, I was relieved to know that everything was OK and all I needed were new prescription lenses. After the exam, I was escorted to the room where you choose your new frames. Everything was organized and displayed in a way that made sense. I'm kinda overwhelmed by too many choices, like kid in a candy store with a dollar to spend. Again, I didn't get her name but the young technician who helped me was professional and patient so I put myself completely in her hands. She helped me pick out two new pair of glasses that fit and flattered my face (I chose the Ray-Ban aviator-style sunglasses, the only style I will wear). And I'm not going to lie, prices aren't as low as Costco but the selection is excellent and you do get what you pay for. My husband even found a pair of wrap-around sunglasses he hasn't been able to find anywhere else. We were both very happy with the customer service, our frame and lens choices and the experience overall. Can't wait until our glasses are ready! Tigard Vision Center is a solid 5 stars.

I don't do it on purpose, but since I've been coming here for ten years, it is like a comfortable pair of shoes, "Well, hello, R S T L N E. Nice to see you again, S K Y R C O." For years I saw Dr. Shannon, but since she left the practice, I've been seeing Dr. Brad. The clinic is modern, clean and has all the bells and whistles (flat screen TV in the waiting room, chocolate treats on the counter, magazines from this millennium). My annual eye exams are always quick and painless - I don't even have to study. But the glaucoma test where they puff air into your eye makes me jump every time. They also push a high-tech retinal scan, called OPTOMAP, with the zealousness of a used car salesman. No thank you! They have a good selection of high quality frames in the attached store, but over the years, both my husband and I have had to return lenses or frames that weren't done right the first time. We haven't had any trouble exchanging items, but it was a hassle and waste of time going back and forth.
