I schedule a Wednesday appointment on a Monday (got in really quick) and was very impressed by their professionalism. The clinic staff was sweet, they made the place feel comfortable and took care of what I needed on the paperwork side. It seemed like the clinic was a little short staffed and people were covering other positions, but overall everyone did a nice job. The doctor (Dr. Kevie Kawasaki) is an OD and she was so welcoming and kind. Her presence and grace to just make everything better in the clinic without blinking an eye was very obvious. Seeing a doctor in the clinic who isn't afraid to also be a leader and do it all was pretty great. It was clear no job was below her and she just wanted to better the space for everyone. As for the actual appointment, she was very helpful, resourceful, and got me exactly what I needed without a hassle. Thanks, Dr. Kevie!

I should have left time before last when the tech did my whole entire exam because the doctor was too busy to do it. My bad. I went again on October 4th, saw a floating doctor that was filling in for another on maternity leave, who by the way was great and I will likely be going to the clinic she regularly works at-not affiliated with Lenza. I have called repeatedly in the last 5 days to ask if my glasses are ready as I was told standard 2 weeks. I left two messages-no call back. I am no longer living close to the location and happened to be passing yesterday, so I stopped. Signs on the door that they are closed, call the Newberg office if you need assistance. Called that location, no answer, left a message, no reply. The store front in Wilsonville's hours on the door now say 3:00-6:00 Monday. I then called before 6:00, no answer. All I want is some customer service for the $350 glasses I ordered 2.5 weeks ago. A call back, or someone to answer the phones. Now I just want a refund and never to be associated with them again. There is no reason to not have staff at locations, answer messages, or be open during reasonable hours. To me this is a result of a bigger problem. I will be calling the Better Business Bureau if I don't hear back by the weeks end. **Update, called again, reached McKenzie who assures me that my glasses will be ready Thursday or Friday. When I try to explain my frustration, he says they are short staffed and there's nothing they can do about it. I suggest calling people back and if that's not an option hire an answering service or don't have an outgoing message. "Yeah, ok, well then you have a great day", then he hung up on me. I was a caregiver for a WWII Veteran and took him here for about a decade before I became eligible and started to visit for my own care. The staff are kind, respectful, efficient and I've never needed to wait more than 15 minutes for anything. I do recognize that they could have more doctors on staff but I get great care & advice from Jake Murgoitio as a Physician Assistant, Pharmacist Eric Ballew and incredible nurses. The Eye Services (Optometry and Ophthalmology) transitioned away from this clinic to the Portland VA Medical Center but I think it was a good way to be more efficient. For any Veteran who is eligible, you will get excellent health care here!

I signed up for VA benefits in 1968 shortly after being honorably discharged from active duty. But…read moreexcept for my student loan benefit I didn't participate in any of their other programs. Mostly because I had excellent medical coverage that was fully paid for by my employer. Back then there were no co-pays, no deductibles... and you could be seen the same day if you needed medical care. Plus, back then the VA hospitals didn't have the greatest reputation so I let some less fortunate Veteran take my slot if they needed care. Fast forward a few decades and I have become a "regular" at the VA when I have medical issues. I did not enlist in the military because I wanted free healthcare for life. But I have to say that considering how things have gone in America these past 20+ years I feel blessed to be a VA client. The Hillsboro clinic is my go-to for routine care and annual physicals. I have a great PCP and the staff there has been consistently amazing. Not some of the staff. All of them, without exception. Every year they draw massive amounts of blood for proactive testing. So a special shout out to the nurses who work in that department. They are sticking hundreds of Veterans ever day and have been doing so for a very long time. So it's about as painless as it gets. And I say that being not all that crazy about needles. My only complaint is that it can take a long time to see my PCP and even longer if he refers me to a specialist. Easily two months. Often considerably longer. I did have a recent health emergency... the first significant health emergency in my overly long life. I had to go to the VA hospital emergency room and they took me in immediately. At midnight. I gave my name, last four and my dob. 30 seconds later a nurse was hooking me up to all sorts of plumbing and literally saved my life. I wrote a review of that facility on Yelp as well. Complaints about the VA or the people who work there? HA! So, while the long waits for care is certainly an issue they are certainly not uncommon especially with the for-profit facilities. I've been on Medicare Advantage (which I pay a LOT for every month) for 15 years but have never used any of those services. The care I receive from the VA meets all my needs so I'm happy. My PCP has waaaay too many patients and the staff at all of these facilities is way overworked. Still, when you show up they treat you like you are the only person in the world. Total professionals one and all. I have never once had a bad or disappointing experience at this clinic or at any VA facility. I am very grateful to the folks who work there and I honestly don't understand what all the griping is about. Maybe it's just that some people would complain if their [FREE!] ice cream was too cold?

I DO NOT accept that. And neither did Dr. Corbin. She sat down with me for 45 Minutes and listened compassionately to my concerns, taking furious notes, and then asked MANY questions about my health and menstrual history. I've NEVER had a doctor say "what I believe is..." And she basically told me exactly what I experienced ALL my life and what hormones cause that and what imbalance can do, etc. And she suggested a DUTCH TEST. It was $300 but I was ALL in, because I could FINALLY get answers and hopefully some kind of treatment or insight before being told again "there is NOTHING you can do." She said "if it's affecting your quality of life, then we need to see what we can do to better it." Holy hell why is this NOT the standard?! So my DUTCH TEST came back, and you do this AT home, and mail it...y'all it's EASY!!! It's urine, not blood!!! My levels all were "within range" but I was on the lower end with my progesterone, and my "bad estrogen," was high. Which meant I didn't metabolize it well to get it out of my system. She put me on an OTC DIM supplement, I chose Thorne for their quality, and bought it on Amazon. And I also get to take oral progesterone from day 14 through bleeding, on my cycle. In two weeks I felt BETTER than I ever have since having kids and my kids are 8 and 10! I could NOT recommend Dr. Corbin or her compassionate staff any more highly. She is fabulous. The customer service is now shockingly poor. Just getting the initial appointment seemed ridiculous while the person scheduling me seemed to be rolling her eyes when I had the nerve to be questioning what their latest and earliest appointments are. They are close to my house but I work close to Hillsboro which can be tricky to get to or from sometimes. Saturday appointments are not available and even regular appointments are booked out for weeks - perhaps they are so busy that they just don't care? I genuinely do not drive around during the day. I also was not aware they have half of Beaverton under construction so I was running late by about 10 minutes. The entire lobby was full of people and the person at the front had a conversation with the eye person who I think my appointment was with.... the eye person glared weirdly at me. Was it my cane? I was super confused and trying to get to the counter around all the people storming their counter. The person at the counter had wandered away, then over five minutes later they come back finally to say I was now over 15 minutes past my appointment so he would have to reschedule me?
