We renovated our home and added a substantial wrap around porch. We worked with an architect to…read moredesign the porch, and had a really hard time finding a contractor that was responsive and seemed to want the job. Leader was a little more expensive than some bids we got, but I honestly think when changing the face of your house, you get what you pay for. Leader dealt with the City, the permits, the architect, and managed every detail of the project. Lauren dealt with permits and the front end of the project (because I knew nothing when we started all this), and Kaitlyn (construction manager) managed all the contractors and worked with us to deal with contingencies as they arose. We replaced the windows and door on the front of the house. We excavated 14,000 pounds of concrete stairs (layered for over 100 years), we replaced the siding on the front. We had roofers and electricians to deal with. The carpenters that built the porch (Zenon!!!) were masterful and executed the architectural plans perfectly. The structure and roof were completed in 6 weeks start to finish. I appreciate how communicative Leader is, I appreciate how carefully and neatly their contractors worked, I appreciate that every single person who worked on our property was incredibly professional. We absolutely adore our porch. It looks like a totally different house. We couldn't be more pleased with the work of this excellent company.

Since we didn't (gasp) and perhaps because our initial estimate was lower than their over the phone estimate, they didn't even bother offering to come out to give an estimate. I guess our money is not good enough for these people.

It is taking an extremely long time for them to respond to my inquiries. I left a deposit on July 31 to start the work and they still have not ordered the door. I understand they had to wait to get a permit from the town before they could order it, but there still seems to be problems. I am surprised by other reviews saying they respond promptly. It can take a week or two for them to respond to an email. I feel they do good work, but their timeliness is below 3 stars.

Henrique and his fixed the damage, made the room much more weatherproof, and made the inside far far nicer than it was before. Brutal experience with them back in 2022-2024. Would take weeks and, more than once, even months…read moreto get them to come back and do any work (see screenshots of my text interactions with them -- note the dates). They were supposed to build a new rubber roof. It started leaking on 3 separate occasions (which btw was never fully fixed -- we moved on to different contractors who did address the issues). And like I said, it would take months for them to actually come back and attempt to fix anything. Often they'd come by, look at the damage, then I wouldn't hear from them for multiple weeks. Meanwhile, more damage continues to accrue to the walls and ceilings. The internal fixes they applied for the water damage were just patch jobs. They just plastered and painted over. Meanwhile, the insulation behind the wall was soaked and accrued black mold that we had to address later. Also worth pointing out a major blunder at the beginning of the project (see attached videos and pics). They opened up the roof, and left it open for multiple days without doing any work. Well of course a major rainstorm came by (which was on the weather forecast well in advance). Alll that water poured into the house in the middle of the night setting off fire alarms. It was a nightmare to deal with on my end.

Alex addressed it all with no problem, and our kitchen looks absolutely amazing now. the finished product looks like something from a magazine -- it's beautiful and functional! we are so so happy with it and will definitely work with Alex and his team in the future for any other projects we have in our home.

We bought our home last summer, and we've been living with the work done by D.S. Brody for a year…read morenow, and it's holding up beautifully. When our house was inspected, the inspector told us nearly everything looked fine-- except when he looked into the bathrooms. He peered his head into the downstairs bathroom, turned to us with a distressing grin, and just asked, "You're gutting these, right? To the studs?" The bathrooms had been basically destroyed by water damage and general neglect, so we hired D.S. Brody to gut the bathrooms to the studs, and rebuilt from scratch. Long story short, they did a superb job, came in at just about the price we were quoted despite some "surprises," and were flexible and professional. A year in, I still couldn't be happier with how the work turned out. Specifics: on top of being entirely gutted, the downstairs bathroom needed the toilet and the vanity switched, the upstairs bathroom needed to be extended into a hall closet, and both bathrooms required somewhat finicky tile work to be completed. Furthermore, we discovered that the pipes going from the basement into both bathrooms and the kitchen were not up to date and needed to be replaced in their entirety. We also had Dominique and her crew replace our back door and put in some small shelves in the kitchen. The icing on the cake was that we were out of state for more than three weeks of the work; due to some poor scheduling, first we were in Japan during demolition and early rebuilding, and then we were in Florida during much of the tiling process. Dominique kept in touch regularly and dealt beautifully with our absence, including through the discovery of the bad pipes, a (briefly horrifying) realization that the upstairs of our house was not actually built on a perfect 90 degree angle, and a multi-week delay of our tile shipment. The finished work looks and functions wonderfully, and we've had no problems whatsoever during this past year. I want to commend not only Dominique but also her crew, particularly foreman Obel, who continuously went above and beyond to get things looking and working just right for us. We would absolutely hire D.S. Brody for any further construction we might need, and strongly recommend them to anyone else in the area.

(Two other companies never responded to my e-mail with needs.) Despite language about my responsibility for additional charges to resolve potential discovery of wood rot, the manager of D S Brody did not charge extra for carpentry in three damaged areas. The team did a great job. Based on a recommendation from a heating service that recently cleaned our heating chimney, I was prepared to have Brody install a metal chimney cap until: that team re-assessed, informed me with a picture of the crumbling top, then the manager recommended two flue pipes embedded with cement as the optimal long term solution. In response to my request, Brody gave a reasonable fixed-price and completed that task within two weeks of the first.

He did it exactly the way we wanted by replacing the big, old jacuzzi tub with a beautiful, tiled walk-in-shower, new floor, and re-positioning the toilet to a better place. We wanted to keep our double sink vanity/cabinet and the big mirrors, but refreshed them with a good paint job. We love how it looks and works!! Arik and his team are very professional, competent and were a true pleasure to have in our house every day. They arrived on time, were always polite, answered all of our questions, made sure our sleeping area in the bedroom was protected from all the construction dust, cleaned up each evening before they left. Arik told us the job would take 2 to 2.5 weeks and it took exactly 2! The only thing left is the glass doors for the shower. Arik brings in the glass guy Rene who measures, discusses what we want, and then orders it for us. When the glass doors are ready to be installed, Arik will come back with Rene to oversee the installation. Arik's price was quite reasonable for the job, and he stuck with it!! There weren't any real unexpected challenges, but he did a few things extra to make sure the job was done right and did not charge any more than his original quote.
