Growing up in Kentucky, I was taught that women are prized based on their home-making skills, sweet tea or maybe their ability to ride a horse. However, that is not reality. Reality was that I had moved to Florida, wasn't getting any younger and had Size A breasts with one slightly smaller than the other. So at 28, I told my boyfriend I wanted to make a consultation for a breast augmentation. Fully supportive, he researched and concluded Dr. Rothfield to be the BEST. After my initial consultation with Dr. Rothfield, I immediately knew he was an elitist in his field, although his credentials clearly speak for themselves. I didn't want or need any other consultations if I were to follow-through with the surgery. After doing further research over the course of a couple weeks, I decided to get the surgery. My surgery went just as planned and I began my road to recovery. About a week after my surgery, Dr. Rothfield's assistant called to check-in. Of course, I was happy about my choice to have the surgery but felt this overwhelming depression that I couldn't shake off for some reason. I was completely honest with her about how I felt and she advised that I come in and see them. When I got to the office, Dr. Rothfield explained how I was suffering from posttraumatic stress disorder which is just as common after surgery as when having a baby. He and his staff comforted and reassured me of everything. No awards, recognitions, or even online reviews for that matter, compare to the reassurance he provided me when I was having a very emotionally tough time. I am from Michigan and had the ability to travel within the US for breast augmentation. I did research upon research upon research to locate the best surgeon I could possibly find. In the end I chose Dr. Rothfield. From the first email I sent, the first phone conversation through the end of surgery and follow-up appointments, I truly could not imagine having gone with anyone else. Dr. Rothfield is an utmost professional, along with his office staff. The first time I spoke with Dr. Rothfield on the phone, it was after hours, I believe on a Friday. I was so impressed he took as long as I needed (which wound up being a half hour) of his time to speak with me (an out of towner at that) and answer all of my initial questions. He is thorough, honest and his integrity is unquestionably what made my decision. I truly felt he cared for me as a patient and person, not just another surgery. Dr. Rothfield's work is impeccable! I have had endless compliments from both men and women on the work he did on my breast augmentation and how natural my breasts look. I went from a small B to a large full C, under the muscle. I had almost no trace of bruising and almost no pain (I believe this is pretty rare, but I also believe this speaks to his ability and talent). The same evening I went out for dinner. A+++ doctor. I went to the internet in search of a plastic surgeon with experience in augmentation revision and that is where I found Dr. Rothfield. I had consultations with 2 other Dr.'s but after meeting with him, he was my top choice. He was so knowledgable and attentive to my situation. I had very lopsidded breasts that were too large for my body. I had 2 previous surgeries with another doctor where my experience was horrible. Initially, I had saline implants and after 10 years one of them burst. I went back to my original surgeon where he replaced them and that was it, surgery lasted 20 minutes. I requested he make me smaller and he did the opposite made me larger from 400cc to 500cc silicon. 5 month after my surgery, my breasts were noticeably lopsided. It was awful, but I refused to go back to my original surgeon. That's when I found Dr. Rothfield, after the initial consultation and the pre-op visit, he was able to make a diagnosis. I had one side that the pocket was too big, which he closed and made smaller one and the other side had a Capsular Contracture (scar tissue) which he removed. He also replaced my old implants with ones that were in proportion to my body. (something the previous doctor could not grasp) I am 2 weeks post op and Extremely pleased with the results. I can wear a bathing suit that fits and I am no longer self conscious. I highly recommend him, I wish I had done my research the first time or second time around because he truly is a very good surgeon. I (thankfully) found Dr Rothfield when my implants from another surgeon had broken inside of my chest and was causing unbearable pain. His staff was very helpful in getting me a quick appointment, and Dr Rothfield turned out to be very different than any other plastic surgeon I had met with. He actually put my health & safety as a top priority, he gave me options that no other surgeon had even mentioned, and he let the decisions in regard to what to do with MY body be up to ME... Whereas every other surgeon was basically TELLING me what I NEEDED to do in order to look the way that THEY thought I should look. The outcome of my breast augmentation surgery was better than ever anticipated. I'm so happy I trusted Dr. Rothfield's advice on going bigger (425cc) as well as the type of incision. I live in Boston full time and Dr. Rothfield made it extremely easy to schedule all my appointments in advance and take any questions over the phone prior to flying down for the procedure. We had a lengthy phone call before I decided to fly down and he was answering all my questions before I could ask them. Anytime I called or had questions I was met with detailed information. The day of operation I was mostly with the surgery center nurses who were great in prepping me. Dr Rothfield offered me to play music during pre-op to make me feel comfortable. He and the nurses truly made me feel so cared for and taken care of. In all of the post-ops he's been very succinct which has been great as I'm in and out of the office in 15 minutes. It's so nice to have a doctor that actually takes my appointment on time and I don't have to take hours off of work to go to. If I have any additional questions I can always call the office. The entire staff was so helpful in the whole process, from start to finish. I always felt very comfortable and safe, and am overall so very happy with my end results! After loosing nearly 100 lbs from a long overdue weight loss plan. I was left with a few troubled spots that I worked very hard to get rid of. I had a breast augmentation done 12 years ago by a doctor in ft. lauderdale which, it never was very good. My left breast deflated and I had no choice but to interview Doctors for a replacement of both breast. I interviewed 3 other doctors until I found Dr. Rothfield. When I first went into his office I knew then he was going to be my Doctor His staff was very polite and experienced and he explained everything about the surgery, within a week I had my breast augmentation done and felt wonderful after. This is my one year anniversay (10/10/19) of my surgery. I am absolutely thrilled with the results. My old breast implants (1998 surgery) had become hard and very painful and the previous doctor had made them much too big. I chose my new doctor- Dr. Rothfield - for several reasons. One, he truly listened to my concerns. He was most concerned about my safety and well being not "just my size." He went through the process of what would take place so I completely understood the risks and possible outcomes.
