Just be careful! You want a surgeon who can deal with situations when they go bad, which, unfortunately, can happen. I had my first breast lift and implant surgery with him in 2006. I developed MRSA (a bad infection) which led to capsular contracture and lots of pain for a whole year. He, honestly, did NOT know what to do with me. He kept putting me on valium as a muscle relaxer and as an anxiety reliever. Eventually, I left to another plastic surgeon who fixed the situation appropriately. I'm sure he was very happy I went elsewhere, because he truly did not know what to do! Maybe, today he has more experience and would have a better idea of how to deal with negative outcomes. read more

Everyone reads reviews online, most reviews seemed positive and Now I understanding that most of these reviews are probably NOT REAL. I had my breasts implants surgery with Dr.Rothfield on Jun 2023. I wouldn't even give him ONE STAR. Because he gave me a Horrible nightmare. This is a FAIL Surgery and Dr.Rothfield is UNPROFESSIONAL Plastic Surgeon. It's been over 5 months but still pain and numb. It's capsular contracture and rippling very bad.My breasts are completely distorted. The scars are TERRIBLE. I had mentioned these issues to Dr. Rothfield at each time of my appointments and all he says is: "Oh, give it more time" But it's only getting WORSE and WORSE. I paid more than most other plastic surgeon in the area charge. I dropped almost 10K in the toilet at Weston Plastic Surgery in Weston FL. And currently looking for another surgeon to FIX IT. read more

Weston Plastic Surgery: Robert E. Rothfield, MD - Cosmetic Surgeons Near Me - Weston, Florida

Great care from the first appt to follow up appts and final exam a year later. Dr. Rothfield sat down and patiently went over everything, measured, explained the procedure and probable outcome as well as answered all my questions and alleviated any worries. I appreciate Dr. Rothfield's honesty. When other Drs said I could use a lift he disagreed. My explant went well and I'm extremely happy with the results. I can wear so many styles of clothes I used to wear when I was a small cup. Don't need to wear v-necks all the time or worry that my buttons are pulling on my dress shirt. My only minor issue is what to do with all my old bathing suits that complimented a D cups! D was alway bad in school and A's were great. So my natural breasts are great!!! Don't know why I ever got the implants and so happy I had them removed. Be yourself! A-Z!!! read more

Dr. Rothfield is a true gem! He has a fantastic bedside manner and takes the time to listen. From the consultation, through surgery and follow up he is top notch! My surgery and healing went smoothly as he promised it would. An added bonus is his office staff! Friendly and kind. Don't look any further than Dr. Rothfield you won't find anyone as kind, gentle and compassionate. read more

WORTH YOUR WHILE TO READ... STAY AWAY from Dr. Rothfield. DO NOT disregard the negative reviews! I was like you, went online, read reviews and selected a surgeon. Most reviews seemed positive (now understanding that most of these reviews are probably not real), and the ones that were negative I figured they were just disgruntled patients with unrealistic results. I asked myself "how bad could he really be, he seems to do hundreds of these surgeries". Well here is the BAD: At first Dr. Rothfield seems to be understanding, experienced, and knowledgeable caring about your goals for a couple minutes. Unfortunately, the facade fades quickly and the fact he doesn't really care about you or your results shows! He's always rushing around. He blows off your concerns, to the point of making some very rude comments. Perhaps it is the fact he performs so many surgeries he seems to forget that for us (patients) this is often the first time we are getting a surgery and it is quite terrifying. I went in for breast implants and a peri-areola reduction and lift. If you think he can't mess up, I am living proof that is WRONG. See the photos below for the first OBVIOUS problem after surgery. He put in 2 completely different size implants. 400 and 475cc. You may think, "wow she must have been really uneven prior to surgery and they discussed this prior". You would be incorrect. All women are slightly different size, yes. But different size breasts were never my concern and NEVER talked about. It was loss of volume. The size difference was apparent immediately after surgery. I gave it time, waited it out hoping that I was just paranoid. Unfortunately it never changed. A 400cc implant is a COMPLETELY different diameter than a 475cc and that was the major issue. The only thing I respected was that after 3 months Dr. Rothfield agreed to swap out the implant for a smaller size free of charge. Apparently, I am only the 3rd person he has ever had to fix (lucky me!). Also, his staff was very friendly! Related to the peri-areola reduction and lift: This was also a major concern as the open wounds healed. Both nipples are completely uneven and the worst part is the scars are TERRIBLE. So bad that I feel even more uncomfortable being naked than before my surgery. Isn't that the point we are going in for a cosmetic procedure?? I brought up this concern to him and he was completely dismissive. But it was apparent during the healing process that the sutures and skin overlapped. There are a couple very small sections of the scar that shows if he took his time, cared about the results and was experienced enough - that my entire nipple could look appropriate. When I asked him to fix this during the 2nd surgery I had he said it is way too soon and the scars are healing perfectly. Aka - he is too proud to admit that there is a problem and too cheap to add extra time on the free procedure he is performing on me. Let me explain why this is accurate.. the area he had to cut through to swap the implant, he cut out the raised uneven area and did a decent job suturing me up in that small section. Whats next... I have set up an appointment with Dr. Messa in Weston in hopes that he can do something to fix my scars and nipples. I wish I never let Dr. Rothfield touch them. I will pay ANYTHING to have this corrected and have my confidence back. Bottom line... If you are looking for a skilled compassionate surgeon, go to someone else. If you want to take a risk because you think that things can't go wrong, go to Dr. Rothfield. I would NEVER let that doctor touch me again even if it was for free. Feel free to google my name and give me a call if you need any more reassurance. read more

I booked a consult a week in advance. Had a 3pm appointment. I arrived at 250pm. I was in waiting room(alone- no others waiting) until about 3:30pm when I asked staff if he was running behind. A few minutes later I was brought into an examination room where I waited another fifteen minutes. I decided to leave at 3:45pm. First impressions are huge to me. My time is important also. I arrived early and prepared. I am considerate of others time, it's valuable, as mine is as well. Left a bad impression. If you are looking for someone professional, steer clear from Rothsfield. I had a consultation with him and he made it very clear he was unable to help with his rude demeanor he carried with him as soon as he opened the door. I understand he was incapable but he could have handled me with more care and professionalism. Instead he laughed in my face with no concern of how sensitive the topic was. I quickly grabbed my things and left as he followed me out the door. If you want to be treated with respect and care, I recommend seeing a better dr. read more

From the moment I walked in for the first time I was greeted so warmly with smiles by the front desk ladies Iris, Christina and Stacie. On my first consultation Dr. Rothfield took his time to explain each and every detail of the capsulectomy, what he could do and even types of implants used. He took the time and answered all of my questions, this was on the day of my free consultation, never rushed me out. One thing I appreciated from Dr. Rothfield and his great staff is they did not pressure me to take advantage of any other procedures that they have, very common practice when you visit Plastic Surgeons for free consultations. The other appointments before surgery went exactly the same, making me feel comfortable, at ease because surgery is always scary, as well as going through my medical history to the last tiny detail. Surgical Center was great, I was worried about that because other doctors I went for consultations perform their surgeries in their office space which did not go well with me. So I was happy to see at the Surgical Center nurses were all very kind, asking tons of questions, dotting their "I's and crossing their "t's" as well as Anesthesiologist (who also called me beforehand to ask if I had questions and put my mind at ease). Doctor Rothfield I believe has four or five members of his team with him in the operating room, which was very comforting to know you are in good hands. As expected my surgery went amazing, Dr Rothfield has excellent bedside manners, very professional, and courteous as soon my surgery was done, he went to the waiting room to let my family know everything went well. He follows up with his patients thoroughly for a year and his staff is always available for questions. Iris, Christina and Stacie Always go above and beyond, I truly appreciate them!! I wholeheartedly recommend Dr.Rothfield 1000% his work is amazing and speaks for itself! I am grateful that my friend recommended me to this great team of professionals! God bless you all! Thank you!. Ivette A. read more

I am a registered nurse and I work at one of the centers were Dr. Robert Rothfield performs surgery. That in itself should tell you so much. I am one of many nurses who work with Dr. Rothfield in and out of the operating room, this tells you how we see and know that his skill and knowledge to be the absolute safest and best! He is extremely talented and I LOOK AMAZING! I had a tummy tuck and I never once during my consultations feel that I was not able to ask questions. Dr. Robert Rothfield gave me the time and attention that I needed to help me make my decision. The nurses and Anesthesia group were so kind and caring. I felt very well taken cared of and safe most of all. I was driving on day 5 after my tummy tuck and off of pain meds by day 6. I am healing so quickly and I LOVE LOVE LOVE my new body!!! I was so nervous the first time I walked into Dr. Rothfield's office, but was immediately put at ease by his amazing staff. I had so many thoughts and questions running through my head. I was taken into the exam room right away and Dr. Rothfield came in almost as fast as I could get the paper gown on. He was so kind and patient, he spent an hour answering the 50 (or more) questions I had and never made me feel rushed or silly. I was told healing after surgery wouldn't be as hard as I was expecting. Of course I didn't believe them...until I was told why, "because he is gentle" and I immediately knew it wouldn't be as hard as I thought it would be. He truly is so kind and gentle, and they were right. Healing wasn't as hard as I expected. I literally felt better everyday while I was healing. I am now about 4 months out, I feel and look amazing and I have for months already. I wouldn't change a single thing, expect maybe I wouldn't have waited until I was 40 to feel this amazing about myself. I recommend Dr. Rothfield to my friends all the time and I would use him again myself, no questions asked. I would give him and his staff 10 stars if I could! read more

had a Breast Aug done 10 months ago and the outcome is poor. I paid more than most other plastic surgeons in the area charge because I had heard so many good things about Dr. Rothfield. My implants have "bottomed out" pretty significantly which makes it very difficult to wear a bra or swimsuit, much less have cleavage (which was the goal in the first place). Also the scars are large, wide, dark colored and definitely not in the crease where they are supposed to be (much higher on the breast), which Dr. Rothfield says is due to the bottoming out, but it is still very unattractive. I have mentioned these issues to Dr. Rothfield at each of my last 3 appointments and all he says is "oh give it more time", but it's only getting worse, definitely not better. All in all I'm just very sad that I spent so much money to "have the best" but what I got was very subpar. The very sweet and friendly staff doesn't really make up for the high cost with poor outcomes. read more

I went to Dr. Rothfield on recommendation from my primary Dr. First let me begin by saying I do have COPD and Im on oxygen, but also Ive had several surguries done before with no problems. The removal of my implants are medically necessary. Dr Rothfield did the examination and all went well, until he quoted me a price. when he preceded I told him my primary Dr. told me my insurance would pay if it medically necessary. Dr Rothfield said I would have to pay up front and if my insurance paid for it his office would reimburse me. He told me insurance wouldn't pre-approve. Now if anyone has had surgery you know that nothing can be done without approval from your insurance. Come to find out Dr Rothfield was over charging me for the procedure and when I questioned him he didn't like it, so hid office called me this morning to say Dr Rothfied changed his mind and won't be doing the surgery. Btw he was charging me $3200.00 and Im getting my surgery done by a well known Dr at $1000.00. He's a money grubber just like a previous reviewer wrote, Dr Rothfield is all about the money! read more

I received a breast lift from Dr. Rothfield and I could not be more happy with the results. Seeing a previous comment that Dr. Rothfield advises on more procedures than necessary is far from the truth. I went in knowing that I needed a breast lift, and could have easily opted for implants in addition to the lift if told to. Dr. Rothfield explained that implants will obviously achieve bigger breasts, but that for my young age was unnecessary to be happy with the results of the lift. The entire office is so helpful and kind, and always available to answer any questions when you call. Besides numerous follow up appointments to ensure the healing progressed nicely, the amazing results, and the kind staff, Dr. Rothfield goes above and beyond. Shortly after my surgery I was nervous about an incision area and called the office, which I did not know was closed on Friday for the holiday weekend. Dr. Rothfield met me at the office just to take a look because I was nervous. Could not recommend enough! read more

Obviously it was a very big decision for me to finally have the plastic surgery done that I'd been tossing around in my mind for over 20 years. I could've once again visited the surgeon's office to have yet another consultation and then gone on for the next number of years without actually doing it. Dr. Rothfield's professionalism, patience, honesty and eye for detail, along with his amazingly helpful staff (Iris, Christina, Stacy) helped me finally make my idea a reality. Every one of them (including the doctor himself) took their time to answer any and all of the questions that I had leading up to my decision to go for it. The day of the surgery I felt at ease knowing that I was in the right hands. Dr. Rothfield's surgical team also made me to feel very comfortable. The procedure was done successfully and my results are everything that I had hoped for! I've been back to his office for a number of follow-ups so far. Dr. Rothfield is probably one of the best Dr's I have ever seen! He is Honest, compassionate, and has a wonderful bedside manner. Last year He did my tummy tuck, I was 32 at that time, and 2 kids later... He was honest in that no matter how much exercise I did, that I would prob not lose All of what I wanted. I did see 2 other Dr's for other opinions. All the doctors agreed that I would greatly benefit from the procedure. BUT the others felt the need to add... Maybe we can add lipo.. maybe lift your breasts. But Dr. Rothfield focused on the reason I was there. He answered all my questions! No matter how silly or serious. He had a respectable answer that made me and my husband completely comfortable with his medical expertise. Not superficial at all. So now it is now about 18 months later and I just went back and had my breasts done! Not because he said they needed it but because I wanted it! now at 34 finally I look proportioned again! I went to see Dr. Robert E. Rothfield regarding the replacement of my old implants after my previous surgeon had retired. After interviewing other doctors, Dr. Rothfield was by far the number 1 choice for me. While explaining the procedure to me he answered most of my questions and concerns before I even asked. He was also very honest when I asked whether he would recommend I get a tummy tuck. His answer was no. He did not think I needed it. The same cannot be said for the other doctors that I interviewed. Dr. Rothfield performed my surgery 8 months ago and I am extremely pleased with the results. Dr. Rothfield also has a very professional and kind staff.
