They are overpriced, deceitful, and prey on rich people in the Weston area. I received a flyer in the mail and had my car towed there to be checked out when I lost my front brakes. I figured I'd give them a shot, and thinking it would be cheaper than my dealer (nope!). 5 days later, they finally reported back with an assessment for a crazy amount of money $4,000+ to fix it (more than my car is worth). Removing out the lower-priority line items, then almost $2,000 to fix just the main problem at hand. So I decided not to do service there. They then charged me a $90 diagnostic fee just for checking the car. Their flyer had said "No Surprises", but this was certainly a surprise! Also they said I had needed rear brakes, too, but this was not true at all. I'd just done them at my dealer, and they were fine. So they were trying to sneak that in anyway, as part of the overall package. Also a bad wheel ball bearing that they didn't find. They sent a survey to my phone asking me to rate them from 1 to 5, but never even cared to respond to ask why I had sent them the lowest rating. They also sold out my email address, as I started getting spam marketing campaign emails from 3rd parties with them mentioned. They had never got my consent to do this! read more

Terrible experience with Weston Automotive! My wife had her rear brakes and rotors replaced in 2021. She drove less than 17,000 miles to find that the driver side rear outer brake pad had broken in two. These brake pads are designed to last 35,000 to 70,000 miles. When I called and spoke with the owner, he could not have cared less. Took no responsibility. Would not provide the manufacturer of the pads. Only stated that Weston Automotive only covers any work for two years. My wife's safety was of no concern. Never again! Overcharged and under delivered! read more

Went for a simple overall check on my car I dropped my car at 730 and by 330 I didn't hear anything from them . I call to pick up my car by 4 and when I got there they had gave me a bunch of bogus charges aside from a diagnosis fee which I was fine to pay but they took it upon themselves to put extra charges for work I didn't agree to be done . They gave me a whole list of things that supposedly had to be done right away so I figured I'd go to a smaller garage mechanic near my home they went over all thr paperwork and they came back to tell me everything they listed was complete bs and illegal what they did putting work in the car that I didn't approve and got stuck with a bill with bogus chargers. Beware it seems reading other reviews they go after woman and they aren't honest . But then again it's in weston so they think everyone has money it's crazy that people are just not honest and try to take advantage of woman. Better yet I took my father in law with me with me after the weston experience and he was there when the new mechanic looked at my car .if your a woman with no man with you I'd be careful . I needed two new tires on our GTI. I ordered a pair off Tirerack and began calling for appointments. Shops were either booked up for over a week, or wanted an "I do not want to do it" rate ($120+) to mount/balance two tires. I called Weston Automotive on a Wed and ended up talking to the owner of the shop; he quoted a reasonable rate and said I could come in anytime on Friday without an appointment. I asked if I should call Friday morning to make an appointment and was assured that was not necessary because they were not going to be busy. I arrived around midday on Friday and said I was there to have two tires installed. The guy behind the desk told me to leave the car for the afternoon and they would call me when it was ready. I laughed and said something like, "That is going to be difficult because I live a couple towns over and do not have a ride. I called on Wednesday and was told I would not need an appointment and did not need to call ahead." At that point the guy standing in the doorway kind of groaned and said, "I am the owner and talked to you on Wednesday... We were supposed to be slow today but a tech called out, so now we are busy. I told you you would not have to make an appointment, so I will mount the tires myself." Most shops (especially big chain stores) would have just said "sorry", and either sent me on my way or made me call for a ride, so this was a huge relief and the main reason for writing this review. I talked to the owner for a little while, and then he installed the tires in about 45 minutes. I mentioned the shop had some negative reviews (especially one on Tirerack regarding "balancing powder") and he said, unfortunately, that was under the previous owner but still shows up for the business. An extra endorsement. As I was talking to the owner an older couple approached us as we were talking. They had an old car towed in and needed the plates removed before donating it to PBS, or another non-profit. It was obvious that they loved the car, but the shop owner explained to them that it would need a lot of work, so donating it was probably the best decision. A shady shop would have convinced them to keep the car and then milked them for ongoing repairs. read more

Broke down near this place on my way home to RI they looked at my car and told me the wheel bearing was ready to fall off which also ruined my new brakes that I had done somewhere else the day before. After they inspected the wheel they said it would cost me $1,100.00 dollars. I felt that was a bit steep so I called my garage in RI and they thought so too. I told them I was going to tow my car to RI and have it fixed there and UBER home. They charged me $100.00 to diagnose the issue. My RI garage fixed not only that wheel but put new rotor on the other side for under $500.00. I feel that Weston Automotive thought they had a stranded traveler and thought they could take advantage of me. So, Id be careful. I didn't see a place to respond so this was the closest I could do.. Thank you for replying to my post. I'm sure that you follow manufacturing guidelines with your customers interest in mind but so does my mechanic here in RI and they did more work than your estimate for almost a third. I recently had a great experience with Weston Automotive. I was able to get an appointment within a day or two of when my new BBS wheels were delivered from The Tire Rack. They swapped my tires (which were only a few months old) and existing TPS sensors onto new wheels, balanced and mounted them while I waited. When going with a new wheel - especially a dark color, you worry about the installer scratching them during mounting. Installation at Weston Automotive was flawless, the cost was very reasonable and they are damn nice work with. I highly recommend this installer. read more

Great service and fast turnaround from Chris at Weston Automotive. Had a damaged tire, WA was able to fit me in for a repair right away, offered me a ride home but I decided to wait. I am a 24 year old female, and not to be "stereotypical" but I am exactly the type of person that mechanics can easily take advantage of! Weston Automotive is ethical, helpful, and extremely friendly. I have used them a few times for basic oil changes, car inspection etc. they always do exactly what I ask, nothing more or less. The prices are always in the range of what I am told they "should be". Car procedures of any sort stress me out....they put me at ease and I feel very comfortable using them. I brought in my car with a couple of "mystery ailments" and Weston Auto did one expensive fix that didn't fix the symptoms at all. They offered up another possible "solution," which also didn't fix the problem (but sure did cost a lot). After two expensive, failed attempts, I decided to go elsewhere. The problem was then fixed immediately and inexpensively by a gas station mechanic. All of the work we've had done on our cars here (from oil changes on up) has been expensive. I could deal with a hefty price tag (what else would you expect in Weston?), but not for work that isn't thorough. I feel like Weston Auto took a "low-hanging fruit" approach to my car---they went for the first possibilities that felt reasonable and didn't bother to see if other fixes were necessary, too. And one other minor detail: I like mechanics who call when work is finished. It's a little courtesy that goes a long way. With Weston Auto, it's on the customer to check in for progress updates. read more

Weston Automotive is the best. They give great service, timely and at very reasonable and fair prices. My dealer for my Audi wanted $3500 for my clutch, they did it for $1400. My dealer wanted $1800 for the timing belt, they did it for $1000. My daughter went to the Honda dealer and they told her her problem would cost over $600, they fixed it for $60. They drive you home and pick you up in the surrounding area. They are the best, professional and good at what they do. read more

These guys are great ... I can't believe that I live in Weston and have not gone to them sooner. Reasonable prices, courteous service, and good work. I had an oil pan leak and they gave me the choice of a permanent/expensive solution and a temporary/inexpensive one. I took the latter option and they did a great job. My girlfriend and I just bought a Jeep Cherokee from these guys. We are delighted with it ! We looked at many vehicles and were about to give up when we saw the ad they had for the Jeep. We went to go look at it and it was even better than we expected. The staff and especially the sales manager Jim DelConte were fantastic to deal with. The jeep had a minor issue and they fixed it at no extra cost in the price. Jim called me every day to keep me informed on the status of the repair. The son is running the business and is clueless. It is no longer Vic's. They just sent me a postcard mailer - using specific info I told them NOT to use (my physical address in Weston) - and displaying all my personal info - legal name, year make and model of car - 100% needed to steal the car. A stack of these postcards in the wrong hands and someone can be making plans to steal. The tone of the card was also threatening and had LOTS of bad info - like saying my car was due for inspection. If you have not found one, it is time to start using a different independent garage. read more

I ADORE Weston Automotive. They fixed a broken blinker..simple, yes. I was told elsewhere that since it was not a bulb problem, it was a wiring issue, which would take all day to diagnose, and very costly. My sister, who has been going to Weston Auto for almost 30 years, suggested I try them. Two hours later, and for $64, the problem was fixed. However, the blinker stopped working a day later. I just went back this morning. It was repaired (no charge) and inspected in a half hour. read more

I don't write Yelp reviews ever but the service was good enough to compel me to change that. I went in for an oil change a few weeks ago and I was blown away with the job they did. First the man who answered the phone was polite and professional and told me up front the cost of what I needed to have done. I work down the road and was able to drop the car off on lunch and hitch back with a coworker. It was done in 1 hour and 5 minutes. When I got back he told me the price of the oil change was half of what he initially quoted me at because my car, an older Lexus, did not need synthetic oil. These places are notoriously the type to up-charge, and quite frankly there would be nothing I could do about it because I know less than nothing about cars. He could have easily given me the blend, charged me for the synthetic and sent me on my merry way with twice as much money in his pocket. Needless to say they have earned my business again and I am happy to have a shop I can trust. read more

Broke down a couple miles from here and the lady from AAA suggested this place, and I felt I didn't have much time to research about it so I agreed. The tow truck picked me up and when I told him where we were going he said "those guys are assholes and most of the people I tow there end up getting towed back out". I didn't have another place in mind, but I figured it couldn't be that difficult for them to replace what I thought was just the tire and rim. After examining the car, he said he found $3000 worth of damage. I looked through my insurance's list of registered repair places and this place wasn't on there so I had to get it towed elsewhere. They charged me $120 for just diagnosing the problem; he said this took him an hour. I don't have any problem with being charged for their time, but I think that's pretty steep. Not sure if that's the standard price for labor or if I just seemed like a young girl that was easy to take advantage of. Either way, I'm sure they make a decent amount of money this way. read more

Given the convenience, we have used them many times with mixed results. Fine for simple things like inspection stickers and oil changes, but very inconsistent and possibly dishonest with more complex matters. There have been instances of repairs with significant charges and persistent unchanged issues with the car, explanations that don't make sense or are contradictory, obvious mistakes (wipers put on incorrectly), and disappointing customer service from the decidedly unfunny insult comic desk clerk. read more
