The heart of this community is its people. Their culture of compassion, respect, and personalized care is evident in every interaction. Residents are genuinely engaged through meaningful activities, and the team goes above and beyond to create an environment where everyone feels valued and connected. What makes Artis especially unique is having a dedicated social worker on their team. This added level of support helps new residents and their families navigate the transition into memory care with confidence, compassion, and ongoing guidance. This is an invaluable resource during such an important life change. It's a pleasure partnering with a team that is so collaborative, communicative, and committed to providing exceptional care. I highly recommend Artis of Wilmette to any family looking for a memory care community that leads with both expertise and heart.

The only solution offered was to downgrade her room or pay $1,000 more per month for a room originally quoted at the same price, a clear bait-and-switch. We moved her to another facility where she now sleeps peacefully. Artis cannot be trusted.

The staff and other residents of Mather Place gifted my grandmother a truly happy and comfortable last few years of her life. My entire family agrees that she lived some of the best years of her life here, if not the best. She also made some of the most cherished friendships of her life here. She was never shy in expressing that. My grandmother was never lonely, confused, or felt taken for granted for while living here. Respect for the elderly is unfortunately hard to come by in retirement homes I'm beginning to learn, which makes me even happier that Mather exists. I'm grateful for Mather Place because I know she passed away with a full heart despite any physical discomfort she experienced. I simply wish that all retirement communities were as respectful, diverse, and proactive as Mather is. Thank you so much for all you've offered to my grandmother and our family.

(I will not be more specific because I do not want this place to be able to figure out who I am.) While they were there, I saw a few patients who had broken a hip or arm because of lack of staff. The food was not edible and sometimes not even cooked properly. There is an extra charge for absolutely everything and the base prices are very high. (In fact consider getting a full time care giver in your loved ones own place because you will save money.) If you think there will be activities and friends for your loved one, think again. Some of the staff members are the best in the world and some of them are mean and incompetent. When one resident gets a communicable illness many residents will become ill as well necessitating difficult trips to the emergency room. When you go for a look at the facility they tell you what you want to hear. They do not tell you the truth.

Chestnut Square is a community quite unique in how their dedication of care for their residents. It was the best decision made after my dad passed and she did not want to stay in their home where they lived for many years. The friendships my mom made were unbelievable. My sister Sandra moved into Chestnut Square at The Glen in August of 2023. We had done quite a bit…read moreof research and looked at three or four other communities in the region that were nice, but we ultimately chose Chestnut for a variety of reasons. First and foremost were the staff and residents. They were all some of the warmest and friendliest people I've ever met. Not only were they warm and friendly but extremely helpful and very competent, as well as accommodating. The food was excellent, and the entire building was very clean, well-maintained, and quite attractive. There was plenty of programming and amenities both at Chestnut Square, as well as a short walk away in The Glen Town Center. Just across the street is a beautiful natural area with paved paths, a lake, shops, and plenty of places to explore. During her time at Chestnut Square, Sandra made many close friends and even developed a wonderful, close, and fulfilling romantic relationship with another resident who lived down the hall. The most important thing, however, was the dedication the staff had toward the happiness and fulfillment of all the residents. It really showed how happy everyone was in the community. Pretty amazing! When Sandra's health declined and she needed more assistance, Chestnut Square was able to provide additional on-site support through its phenomenal sister affiliate, Partners in Healthcare. The caregivers from Partners treated her and her loved ones like they were their own family. This was all available in Sandra's original apartment with a very thoughtful aging-in-place model, so she wouldn't need to transfer to another floor or facility. The care was exceptional, providing her with warmth, dignity, and respect. It comes as no surprise that Chestnut Square (a non-profit organization) is driven by their dedication to residents as well as staff--who all seem to really enjoy working there. Our entire experience with Chestnut Square was wonderful and provided the whole family with tremendous peace of mind!
