However one would expect extra special care, kindness and compassion from the staff during this time. The food is often inedible. Often something overcooked covered with a thick sauce. Soup made with flour as a thickener. Often unidentifiable. Not aesthetic.gluey. Who tastes this food? The activities on offer are necessarily limited however a piano player or some other allowable activities would add a lot to their quality of life. Perhaps an art exhibition on site ( entrance could be limited to small groups at a time)? Perhaps a small shop counter for snacks and toiletries and gifts? Some of the staff (not all) are not compassionate, and are impatient, surly and unkind, often even rude. In lockdown interpersonal relations make a huge difference to the residents. Please be attentive, patient, and understanding of their feelings. The residents depend on their telephones and computers for outside communication. Why then do they need to reconnect to the Gidwitz wi fi with having to deal with username and password insertion each time they try to connect ? This needs to be changed immediately! Consistent wi fi is a necessity not a luxury. They are elderly, it needs to be easy. There is no-one ready to help them with their tech pc needs. Since then I have had a team of 8-10 doctors I see regularly up until now and couldn't ask for anything more. Ricardo at one time got involved with these specialists and shortly thereafter was no longer needed. He thinks o.k. to belittle other people in the Physical Therapy industry in an attempt to make himself look better. He attempts to intimidate people due to his strong arrogant ego, and unstable, unethical dishonest attitude in life. After Ricardo for the 3rd time in the recent past went into a fit of rage with my wife and I, became unhinged, verbally assaultive, and physically threatening. (He does this publicly and he doesn't think anything of it.) After his latest act my doctor and Physical Therapist cut their sessions short, opened their doors and demanded he STOP immediately. (They both had patients in their offices) gave notice to leave and did just that. Needless to say the clients had an opportunity to see what an "unprofessional piece of work" he truly is. Sennogroup is now a one man show with no P.T. or Doctor in the office. He has a habit of threatening and interfering with not only patients but also my Physical Therapist. He illegally bills Medicare when I'm in to see my Physical Therapist 2 to 3 times a week, (stating he is giving me "Gait Training" and "Reassessments" which he has never done!) One of his other stunts a few years ago we came into the office to see my doctor's not him. He told my wife and I we couldn't sit in the waiting room due to COVID. He told us to "go wait in front for my doctors" only having a tree to lean on knowing I have a problem standing. At that time we also filed a State Complaint. Ricardo is pompous and intimidating to both the few patients he may have had and the patients of my Psychologist and Physical Therapist he has no dealings with.

This looks like an amazing retirement home/independent living place. It's a Christian facility, as evidenced by the portraits of Jesus displayed, but I think all would be welcome. I'm not religious and didn't feel unwelcome. There is a beautiful fitness center here, and an indoor pool. Plus a beauty shop, little store, and a medical office that looked like an Immediate Care type place, and I saw that it was open during every visit. My relative has been here for over a decade and loves it. Her independent living apartment is cute, safe, comfortable. The halls are quiet. The elevators work. It smells good, like a hotel. Everyone looked really chill and happy. Plenty of free parking and nice landscaping. My relative is currently in staying in the Brandel nursing facility for rehab for a few weeks, and it's nice to be on the same campus as that service. She's in good hands! Thanks, Covenant!

Having her return home was no longer an option; which led me to quickly get to up to speed on senior living options,mostly on my own. I found her a place & moved her in all before her release. While I ensured her safety, I second guessed my decisions as she vocally struggled to adjust; it was a lot of change particularly for someone who rarely left her home. Almost 6 months in, a different set of doubts & worries took over. Did I make the right call, could she live somewhere more affordable, would she outlive her money, etc. I don't even recall what search term led me to Senior Living Experts, but I'm grateful. Rebecca listened to my story and made me feel less alone. She thought where my mom was at was the best option in terms of cost, desired location and care needs addressed, but would do the research and circle back. We also discussed the care she received currently and provided a few suggestions. As promised, Rebecca followed up and confirmed her initial assessment. Yes, I'll still worry about her finances, but I now have a better understanding of the landscape and what comes should her care needs increase. If I had a do over, I would have started with Senior Living Experts, they are amazing!

You can hear the dogs bark through the walls as though they are in your own apartment. You can complain to management, and all they say is: " it's apartment living" and do nothing. If you ask them to go up and listen for the barking dog, they do not go and treat you as though you are the complainer and must just hate dogs. They take the side of the nuisance dog owner every time over the person who is not having a good quality of life in their apartment complex due to the dog barking. There are supposed to be quiet hours, but if a dog is barking before or after those hours and is a nuisance, management does absolutely nothing. They do not enforce the nuisance clause at all.

I only mention this since it's the first impression you get when you go into the facility. The good: the people working there in skilled nursing, physical, and occupational therapy seem to truly care about the patients. There are two main problems: (1) the food is awful, and (2) they don't have enough staff to support the patients. We were there with an older relative who had a knee replacement. She was not able to, or supposed to get up on her own and even needed help to go into the restroom. While we were there the first day, she hit the call button and we waited so long for someone to come to help her, she almost soiled herself. I had to go out of the room and find someone who could assist. The first night she was there, again she hit the call button for restroom assistance. Again, she waited to the point where she got up herself. Of course, someone one day out of knee surgery shouldn't do that, but it was that or soil herself so she got up. She made it to the restroom before she fell, requiring a trip to the ER. The next day, we talked to one of the therapists who explained they had someone call in sick the day before, requiring the facility to move someone off of our floor to a different one. This left her the only person monitoring the patients on our floor. They couldn't keep up with the patients. The next day, we spoke with a manager who contradicted the aide saying she didn't know why we were told they were short staffed and said they weren't. That was when I realized we couldn't rely on them to take care of her and decided she should be moved back to her assisted living facility and hire skilled nursing and physical therapy. I cannot in good conscience recommend Whitehall. I see similar comments in some of the other reviews, which I should have read before placing her there. I am terribly disappointed and even though moving her and hiring the help ourselves was much more expensive, I couldn't keep her in a facility where I couldn't count on the care. Oh - I gave them three stars rather than one or two because of the quality of the therapists. If they weren't good, my rating would have been much lower. Also, I see enough pictures of the facility posted that I didn't think I needed to take any. The ones posted by reviewers are pretty spot on.

After our mom fell, we knew that she would need nursing care but we also knew she did not want to live in a nursing home. Whitehall was the perfect place to have her stay as we determined what she needed. Between the physical rehab and care she received there, and the assistance we were provided to manage the insurance and in-home nursing care, we could not have had better care. Caring for parents is so difficult and sometimes it's necessary to take a pause and get the best information possible from people with experience. We are ever so grateful!

She cares for my dad from 8 pm to 8 am four nights a week. She provides toileting help, dressing and undressing, and all mobility and transfer help she does it with grace and care of the details. What we like most is how much she engages with dad. Dad is 93 with advanced Parkinson's, and some heart issues. They talk about the past, sing songs together. Dad texted me this morning and said " I am up, dressed scrubbed and shaved. What a nice job Sharon does." I highly recommend her. We love her!
