This is a cross between a dive and a smarmy spot! Infrastructure is showing but have relatively new tables and chairs, while the walls are adorned with a mixture of local art, kitchen art, and photos of locals visiting. Parking can be treacherous if they are busy. This is cash only, but they have an ATM conveniently located inside. Beware the menu! The senior specials cost more than the equivalent on the regular menu (I will attach photo of this). I got number 2 with kielbasa. Eggs fine, potatoes non-remarkable. Scrambled eggs with cheese peachy. You have to ask for jelly, doled out in those little packets. Cream and ketchup come in little plastic round portions. The kielbasa came cooked black and swimming in grease. The signs of COVID dividers remain on the ceiling. Service was quite friendly. Locals of all types are easily spotted here. So, I would say this place is a cross section of America, hitting in between extremes.

Corned beef and cheese omelette

I've been driving past here since I moved to Gardner. Finally got to stop this morning after getting blood drawn at Heywood Hospital(fasting!) It always looked busy when I drove down by. So first the negatives. It's noisy but most breakfast cafes are. Not self seating, no biggie. The flatware is incredibly cheap. No WiFi again no big deal. The prices seem steep for breakfast foods, however ... Now the good news. Omg greeted immediately by friendly owner. Coffee was good and piping hot. I ordered the 3 egg omelet I mean how can you make an omelette with only 2 eggs! But let me tell you next time I'll only order a 2 egg one! It came out quickly and was stuffed with corned beef hash and cheese. I asked for extra crispy home fries and they were! It was hot and delicious. I'll be back I'm sure.

The house special omelette, soooooo much food...

Westminster cafe is a great local joint. We were in town for a convention, and needed some local breakfast. Yelp helped us find this place. Wait on a Saturday morning wasn't too long, and the staff was super friendly. My gf said the coffee was passable, but not great. I would expect no less in a tiny local like this. She had the biscuits n gravy, I went with the house special omelette. Both were huge. HUGE. Like, overflowing the plate. The omelette was great, the biscuits, were OK. For what it is, where it is, it was good. I loved the local crowd, and the staff was great. 4 solid stars.

Great local cafe (aka The Gathering Place)

I've used Mike & Ants ice cream truck a few times from things like birthday parties to work events!…read moreAbraham is such a wonderful man and always happy. The truck has a great selection of ice cream that brings back so much nostalgia being a kid. Something you wouldn't think of for an extra bit of fun at any kind of birthday or gathering but it is well worth it and fun every time.

Booked mike and ants for a smaller event and we corresponded a few times over email about location, time and price. Thought everything was all set, but he was a no show. Kids were disappointed, but it was a smaller event so we made an emergency run to the store for the ice cream we promised all the kids. Called him on the phone to see why he never showed, and he claimed to have not written it in his book. He said this had never happened before and he would make it up to me. Ok fine, mistakes happen. Give him the benefit of the doubt and book him for our block party two weeks later. Because of the no show the first time I sent a confirmation email the day before the event and he confirms that he will be there. But once again, NO SHOW. We had kids in tears because we promised an ice cream truck and no one arrived. I am completely shocked that a business could be so unprofessional. Despite multiple confirmations and affirmations that he would be at two separate parties, he never showed. So two times in less than a month he was a no-show. I would suggest using a different company if you want the ice cream truck to actually come to your party. I would never have left this review if this were a one time event, but for it to happen to the same person two times is a trend. Obviously we will never use them again and I would warn people about using them too.

This 100-acre farm is located in Fitchburg, Massachusetts. It used to be a historic farm called…read moreMarshall Farm. It's located on a hill so the views are spectacular. We went in the fall and it was a perfect New England day; spooky season in full effect, sweater weather, and autumn decor. There was live music, picnic tables, and animals you can pet; there were goats and sheep. A feed dispenser was nearby, just insert some coins. The bar/restaurant line was not too long and it moved quickly. We had kettle popcorn, hot dogs, beers and cider. These were good and there were so many options; pizza, beer, ice cream, salad, nachos, etc. They are also a pick your own farm; from strawberries, flowers, pumpkins, apples, blueberries, blackberries, raspberries, peaches, it all depends on the season. They even have a sugar house which produces maple syrup and other treats. We had an enjoyable time when we went and look forward to going back.

Looked for Finicky Fork - it was the counter with the long lines. Since we hadn't eaten lunch yet, we waited in the 20 minute line and then placed our order. They take your phone number and say they are going to text you (not giving you any idea of how long the wait will be). We found a picnic table and enjoyed the live music. 30 minutes later, I walked up to the counter in case they had my phone number wrong. Turns out other people had been waiting almost 2 hours. After waiting an hour and a half and still no food, I asked for a refund. They did not give us a receipt of the refund, however and said it would be credited at the end of the day. Its one thing if one person's was delayed, but there were very many (probably 30 people) who had to wait almost 2 hours for food. One woman just asked for soup. Crazy!

The Scandinavian almond cupcake is a bit sweet for me but has a strong almond flavor. You can find a variety of local food , Scandinavian, and other gifts at the store too. It's a nice place to get a gift on the way to visiting someone. They have dairy products and other perishables as well. There's some outdoor seating at the store and the abundance of flowers outside was a nice touch. I guess, hence, the Kitchen Garden... Service was friendly and helpful. I wished they had some limpa or Finnish rye, but I came pretty late in the day. Maybe I'll try the ice cream sometime, though it's from Bliss over in Attleboro, which is closer to Boston. This general store is a nice stop along Route 2.
