However, at selected stores, they offer knife sharpening - which brought me to this particular location. Apparently, the knife sharpening machine is an infrequently used options - as the called associate needed some guidance on how to use. Also, there are size limitations, as my cleaver was too large for the machine. While I waited for the sharpening machine to work its magic (8-15 mins approx), had an opportunity to look around. Emphasis on the amateur backyard BBQ'er. Large spice section and a solid options for grills. Store is small, but I gather there is an emphasis on a more boutique home improvement experience. Love this Ace Hardware for home needs. Definitely the place I like to go if I have a question about a product. Their staff is more knowledgeable than you will find at other hardware stores. This store is undergoing remodeling and the web site has no real view of their inventory. I ordered an 'in stock' item on the web with a 1 hour pickup. After waiting for 2 days for the ready email, I dropped by the store. The order was not 'ready' - 'next truck' as the excuse. I cancelled the order online, but that did not work - online customer service never cancelled order. Finally spent 20 minutes on the phone to cancel the order and now I wait up to 7 days for the refund. read more

Customer service severely lacking. Not helpful and overpriced in the first place. I like using "local" businesses that are independently owned and operated and things here were good the first few orders. But in store it is like pulling teeth finding someone to help locate items, honor their ad pricing, much less provide you with good suggestions. Sorely disappointed to say we are going to true local stores and even bigger box stores for larger purchases moving forward. Things have just gotten worse. 3 strikes you're out generally in my book, and I was lenient after this lovely store passed that threshold long ago. Last night I walked into your location in an absolute panic! I had bought a rocking chair from a furniture store down the street and it wouldn't fit all the way, so I had to leave my tailgate open. After they loaded the chair, they were basically like "good luck with that". I wedged it in further myself, but it did not feel safe at all. My husband was at work, but was really worried about me driving home. He asked that I go to your store to get something to hold it in place. He said, "Everyone is so nice there! They will help you!" He was so right! As soon as I walked in, I was greeted by the sweet brunette at the cash register (I wish I had caught her name). She immediately paged someone and Ben came to the rescue right away! We went to my car to have a look at "the situation" and he knew exactly what I needed. I thought I needed bungee cords (I am clueless), but he suggested ratchet straps and showed me different options, price points etc. He quickly rang me up and then proceeded to install them for me!!! He was fast, but also very careful and made sure they were extra secure. Unlike the people at the furniture store, I felt like he really cared about everyone's safety. He even said it was a miracle that the chair stayed in the car, and I totally agree! I know I probably sound so dramatic, but I was truly an absolute ball of nerves when I got there! And when I left - I felt so calm and confident about driving home! Please do something special for Ben to acknowledge how kind, caring, patient and knowledgeable he is. I actually stopped in on the spur of the moment to buy a little plastic wading pool for my dog that was on sale just as they were closing. I also used their "facilities." The store and "facilities' were very clean as I recall and sales people extremely friendly and pleasant. Lots of really great products, items and lines on the shelves (Admittedly, I LOVE hardware stores and could easily spend an hour or two just browsing!). I would highly recommend shopping at this hardware store (others are much closer to my home than this one). read more

I probably come into this ace a few times a month. For both business and personal purposes. You cant find a more family feel store around the area than these guys. It's always a smiling face and a "can i help you find anything?". They always have sales up front with some great deals. I can always find what I want there. and you cant forget the free popcorn. theres nothing like walking around the store eating popcorn (or you can get it on your way out, but then you'll spill it in your car). I went in to research the Big Green Egg, and they were extremely helpful, even though they knew I wouldn't be buying that day.

For starters, any place that has a 25 cent soda and free hot dog promotion twice a year as well as free popcorn every day is alright in my book. As for the hardware store itself, Ace represents itself as the "helpful place" and they live up to that. I don't generally have a whole lot of hardware needs and am admittedly prone to hitting up the larger places first, but Ace has a great selection of things that you probably won't find at the other stores. Need a random bolt or screw that your piece of furniture from Ikea is missing? Ace is the place. Need a tiny spring to fix the whammy bar on your Rock Band guitar? Ace is the place. The prices really aren't that much different, and the staff are generally much more knowledgeable and friendly than the larger stores as well. read more

Even better than Lowes, every time. There are multiple knowlegable employees all around the store willing to help. You can get what you need, and get in and out quickly. It's a little more expensive than the big box stores, but it's worth it, and I usually have a coupon anyway. Complimentary popcorn, too. :) I highly recommend this Ace Hardware. read more

Not helpful. Tried to get key made but had my own. Don't mind paying for labor. Guy wouldn't do it and kept insisting he had keys. I know but I like my own. Asking questions that aren't relevant and I've don't it there before and had no problem. And he lost my screw ad tried to tell me he didn't lose it and it wasn't there. Had him go find it and he did. I took my lawn mower to Ace Hardware in Garner. To have to engine checked over. To make sure everything was installed and connected correctly before starting this new engine. The store was prompt on getting it in to look it over. I ask Bobby to call me once they found the problem with the governor. He never called me I called a few times just to ask what they found, or what the problem was. Each time I called either Bobby or the tech working on my mower was never there. Or to busy to talk to me. And I ask if they would call me back. Bobby did call me and left a voice mail That the tech working on it was out sick and the work order was locked in his tool box. So he didn't know what they found. I ask when they did know to please call me. I never received a call. I called back two days later to find my mower was finished the day before and no one called to tell me. When I picked my mower up, Bobby was distance to me. The parts I ask them to order at the very beginning of dropping My mower off. Where never ordered. Also, when I ask was my mower ready to go. As ready to start. Running. The tech said yes. So I get it home. It hardly turns over. Once I got it running. The engine is revving up and down. The fuel line got cut from incorrect location. And wires fell off the ignition solenoid.
