Well, I was happily surprised and am an now a convert. The salon is clean and well kept, and it's very fuss free but still nice. The front desk staff are wonderful and very helpful. Cassie in particular is fantastic. She takes time to listen to what you would like and has very constructive insight as to what might look better and the thing I love most is she is as creative as can be. I hate having the same color each time and she has delivered amazing cuts and color every time. If you're looking for a great hidden gem that is very well priced with a talented team, this is the place for you!

Due to Covid-19 I was quite concerned about going to a salon, but I felt very comfortable the entire time I was there. They have a lot of precautions put into place including taking temperatures when you enter. Additionally everyone in the salon wore their masks correctly which is not something that occurs in many places. Andy was very easy to work with and I was confident with the length (removing 12+ inches) and style that he suggested. I was very happy with my cut and look forward to visiting again. However, after being recommended the place by a friend and scrolling through the Michelle Michelle (and affiliated!) instagram, I felt excited to entrust my hair to the team. When I arrived at the location, I lowkey thought I had accidentally pulled up to an abandoned school building but as soon as I stepped in the salon, it seriously felt like I was transported to a different space-time continuum. Whoever did the decor was dedicated to the theme of, "colorful + queer as fuck + plants many." Applause all around obviously. Not only was Mollie, the magician who did my hair, incredibly friendly and down-to-earth, but everyone in the salon - from the other artists to the clients - made me feel so welcomed and included. The whole process of consulting, snip snipping, bleaching to high hell, and adding (non-Team-Rocket-red) color was way less complicated and stressful than I thought, thanks to their non-critical and collaborative approach. This is not at all a snobbish establishment; rather, everything from the way people present themselves to the conversations happening throughout the space encourages you to feel safe to be yourself.

Everyone at this salon is welcoming and friendly, and the decor speaks for itself. I recommend Vaun time and time again for nails. They are fantastic at freestyling nail art, but can also take your vision and bring it to life on your nails. The nail service prices include tax and tip, to ensure they're getting paid fairly.
