There fish is by far the tastest around and you can choose from Cod, Haddock, Salmon and many others which are all cooked fresh when you order. The Chips are well cooked and always fresh. You can be sure that this Chip Shop is busy but is well worth the wait, the staff are always friendly and very efficiant. Excellent Quality food and Service. Well worth a visit.

The shop front entices you in with its cheeky appearance and what I think is a brilliant name for a fish restaurant, and on my visit the takeaway was packed (it was around 5PM so that made sense), however service was quicker than I expected it to be. What struck me about the cod & chips I got was the utter lack of grease, which made a refreshing change as I didn't have to wipe my lips after every bite and I also felt slightly less guilty about eating deep-fried goods. They tasted splendid to be honest, and the prices were so reasonable that I'm thinking of going back and checking out the restaurant. It's won awards, and I can see why.

If you're after a fish supper, I'm now convinced there's no better place. As promised, there was a queue half way down the street early Friday evening. Locals know what's up. If you've not given them a go, don't worry about that one bit. I was in within 10 minutes. The fridge has your standard chippy pop options, including (if I remember rightly) shandy bass. That takes me back! The choices are also the usual, so no need to explain. I opted for the regular fish and chips with some curry sauce. Haddock and chips was under a fiver! The fish was cooked beautifully, the batter hardly got soggy at all (unlike most places) and the chips were just what you crave from a chippy. Basically, this place is the business.

Given that I work near here, I got used to eat fish and chips every friday. I haven't tried many fish and chips shops till now, but my collegues told me that this is one of the best in town. And they are right! The fish is good, damned good. For less than a fiver you can have a huge haddock with countless chips. Honestly I couldn't say anything about all the other choices in the menu because I stick to it and I am not willing to try anything else! Of course you can have scraps for free and add salt and vinegar while they wrap your meal, but if you want a sauce you have to pay for that: add less than one pound for a big curry pot (or mushy peas if you prefer) and you're done! Go for a smaller pot for 45p if you prefer, but it won't be enough... Anyway, this shop is not in a posh area of Leeds, but if you end up in Wortley or Armley don't miss it.

Steve, the owner, has our family order almost ready and waiting every Friday night, and I don't remember having a bad meal over all these years. They do have a selection of options, such as pies and sausages, however in my eyes you have to go with the traditional lightly battered cod and chips! Located very centrally in Bromley Cross and close to both the Coop supermarket and Bargain Booze, so if you're plotting for your night in, grab yourself some nice beers or wine to accompany your delicious fish!

As well as serving traditional fish and chips, they have extended their menu further for an even greater selection, including greek gyros and ice cream. The staff seemed friendly/polite, although they were quite busy, I was served rather quickly, they had a staff member taking fish orders, while you wait in a queue to pay, I liked this approach as it meant not only was the fish cooked fresh to order, but they were keeping the queue moving quickly without delay. They do have gluten-free fish here, and they use a separate fryer too which is great, they do have limited other options, I would have liked them to manage a gluten-free curry sauce/gravy to go with the food, or a gluten-free sausage, hopefully, they'll consider that in the future. I was impressed with the quality of the fish, the batter was also crispy and a good portion size too, the chips were fresh, seasoned well and cooked well, I enjoyed my meal, it was quite reasonably priced at just under £8 too. I had to settle for some mushy peas for the side, I didn't enjoy them at all, I found the peas to be hard and almost inedible. It is cash only I'm afraid - this is one of the biggest negatives for me, I also do find the packaging to be a little flimsy and cheap, compared to the box which most other chippies are using now, so there are areas for improvement but otherwise The Bridge is a great local chippy with a greek twist and a very good gluten-free fish. Sunday openings (rare in a chippy) are also a huge plus. I would return. 4*

As well as being a traditional English chippy, they have restaurant space upstairs for you to dine in and enjoy your meal as well. I held a recent birthday get together here with my home mates (its proximity to a couple of pubs made it the ideal choice and it worked out brilliantly). Anyway, the fish they order in daily is delivered fresh and on ice, once battered in the crispy goodness it's delicious and I always order it (£3.30 for cod or £3.40 for haddock). The chips aren't too greasy and you receive a hearty portion. As well as Holland's Pies, which they warm up in the oven, they also make their own in-house (steak & ale, cheese & onion, beef & onion or rag pudding). Pretty much all the extra typical bits and bobs you can order are available (mushy peas, gravy, curry sauce, scampi, sausages, onion rings, chicken nuggets, spam fritters and canned drinks). If you're a philistine and don't want a chippy tea, they also offer a range of filled jacket potatoes. They even sell ice cream - no wonder this place is busy, it's a gastronomic wonderland.
