Very personalized service from the front desk to the dental room. I like the care a lot. Perhaps the only thing I miss is being asked what choice I would like to make regarding a crown, would I like gold or some other material. I've been a patient at this practice for over three years. I have never missed an appointment. For as long as I have been going there the front desk is constantly saying "we're short a hygienist" making it necessary to schedule cleanings almost 6 months IN ADVANCE which I have always done. My appointment which was scheduled for tomorrow was cancelled because I did not have time to return their phone call today by their deadline asking me to confirm the appointment -- I was a mere 10 minutes late doing so. I asked when I could reschedule and they tell me the have no appointments available--again because they're "short a hygienist". I don't know what the problem is as to why they cannot find another hygienist if it they are so busy....seems like business is booming. To make matters worse, I had two porcelain veneers placed on my two front teeth last June. One veneer has fallen off TWICE, once only a few days after having it attached and then again this past January. For the amount of money I paid, this is completely unacceptable. To treat an established patient like this is HORRIBLE and insulting. Needless to say I'll be taking my time and money for my dental care elsewhere. read more

I love Dr. Krits. My son and I go here and we just both love his honesty and he actually listens to me. If I am having any sort of discomfort while getting anything done, he stops and makes sure I am ok before moving forward. His team is amazing indeed!! The only reason I did not give a five is because of the amount of times you will get called to confirm an appointment. There must be some major flakey people out there to create this extensive of a process. If I make an appointment, I am there!! But the office does call you then ask you to call back then sometimes call again.... Other than that I love them!! read more

I have been going here for years. I had a crown done a few years ago and had some pretty severe pain in it recently. I went in and was told I needed a root canal. Since I had just paid a good amount for the crown they said they would give me a discount ( awesome right? ) So I got my quote and was told the amount I would pay and that I could pay half during the root canal procedure and half when I came back from the new crown. So lets start with the procedure... They tell me it may take an hour and a half or so. Fast forward almost 3 hours later. Face is throbbing and in pain but they are done. Then the manager comes in to tell me that the nurse pricked herself with the needle and has infected herself with my blood. No biggie, I understand mistakes happen. Then he makes the comment you are covered in tattoos and people with tattoos could have hepatitis so you need to get tested...ok wtf? Does this guy not have any people skills? At this point I'm so tired and in pain I let it slide and go to pay the bill so I can go to the lab and get tested. I go to pay and its more than what was quoted for a "build up charge". Ok fine so I pay that and go on my way. 3 weeks later my crown is ready and I got in at my scheduled appointment time which I have taken off of work to do. I get there and they tell me before my appoint I need to pay the remainder of the bill which is now $400+ what the quoted me. When I ask what's goin on the front desk lady says my insurance didn't pay the amount they thought they would. OK so you didn't think to let me know that over the past 3 weeks?? I then ask to talk to the manager and get this rectified. She isn't in so I head to work since they refuse to do my crown without the full amount. I head into work late and WASTED MY TIME. When they manager comes in she calls me and I tell her the whole story. This time its a woman, she apologizes and her way of making it right is letting me pay in 2 payments and reschedules me again. Not sure if there is even a discount by this time as I have had extra charges piled on multiple times. Maybe this was their way for making up the "discount". Cherry on top of this story is the day before my appointment to get the crown they call to reschedule me because the double booked themselves. So here I am 3rd appointment to get this crown on tomorrow morning. Lets hope I can get it on because I am never walking back in this place and I suggest you do not either! read more

Horrible scheduling. The other reviews describe are correct, it is almost impossible to get an appointment. If you do manage to get in, expect to spend 5 minutes with Dr K, once a year. I finally switched to a new clinic after waiting 9 months to get an appointment at Western Trails; the new place is so awesome that I am shocked I put up with such bad service for so many years. read more

After several years without a visit to the dentist, I made an appointment for a check-up and cleaning at Western Trails Dental. After all was said and done, it took them 3 appointments to fit in my xrays, exam, and cleaning. Why? I don't know. Maybe this is just standard dental practice these days? Despite the annoyance of the 3 appointments, what really angered me was the quality of their billing department. Every time I went in, I paid some amount of money. Not much - always less than $30. But I also have dental insurance which I thought paid for most of the routine, preventative care. So I just thought I had paid everything and went on with my life. Bad idea! Six months later, I got a nasty $180 bill in the mail saying my account was overdue and if I didn't pay immediately my bill would be sent to collections! Why hadn't I got a bill before? As someone who takes their finances and credit seriously, I am livid. Yes, it is always smart to check up on your medical bills, but they should have sent me bills at 30 day intervals. I would not recommend Western Trails Dental to a friend. read more

I went to this place on August 2021 because I have broken tooth they fix it and after two months it's broke again I went on November 2021 and they fill it again and now after 6 months broke again, I called the manager and she said they have to do different treatment she meant different type of filling. I came to River City Dental because it got such good reviews on Yelp. Unfortunately my experience was not so positive. It took a month to schedule an appointment, and after waiting a month, on the morning of the appointment they called to tell me that the hygienist had called in sick and that they would have to reschedule - for another month later! I told them that I had already waited a month, but they said there were simply no openings until then. They also have a strange system of having you sign a bunch of forms on a separate electronic screen than the forms themselves. I do not doubt that they are trustworthy, however, I can't help but feel awkward releasing my signature on a blank screen - to be easily repasted onto any release form. Finally, after getting a filling for a cavity, I experienced extreme pain in the area of the filling (despite having felt no discomfort previous to the filling). Not a great experience today. Stressful environment with Fox news in the waiting room (murder, violence, more murder) and CNN in the hygienist's chair area. It would be nice if there was no TV in the waiting area, or else something more soothing. Also, if there's a TV in each exam chair area, maybe the hygienists could allow the patient to choose something to watch? To be fair, I'm sure my sweet and friendly hygienist would have let me choose the channel if I'd asked, but it would have been nice to be offered the chance. Also, not sure why I have to return for a separate appointment to get a cavity filled. Is this normal? Does the office just want the extra money for a return appointment? It's definitely an inconvenience for me to get to the dentist's office 45 minutes from home, and I'd rather just have the cavity filling taken care of when I'm in the office. The front desk was very busy when it came time to pay... I sat and waited over 15 minutes to pay before I had to just leave (I'll call the office to arrange alternative payment). I called several weeks ago and left a message during the weekend, with a specific question, and never got a call back... After today's visit, I wonder if the front desk workers are simply overloaded with too much work? Maybe I just caught the office on an extra busy day. In the past, everyone has always been really nice and efficient. I wish they didn't have the TVs on, though. Everybody in the waiting room was reading a magazine or something on their phone. read more

I chose River City Dental because it's close to where I am living and they are part of my insurance network. I went online and saw other reviews of the place. It wasn't looking too well. The reviews ranged from sitting in a crowded waiting room for 3 hours, to numerous cancellations, and rude front desk. I never encountered any of that. My experience was great dealing with River City Dental. The only reason why I'm giving them four stars is because they were hard to find. I had to wait two-three months for an appointment. I guess they were busy. The front desk was nice to me when I first entered. The waiting room was not crowded. There was only 4 people in the waiting room. They gave an x-ray and a cleaning. The hygenist was a pro and my doctor, Dr. Winnelle Bonilla, whom I highly recommend gave me great service. They both helped me feel at ease at the dentist. Also you can watch TV while you are having your teeth clean. This was my first dentist I have seen in five years and I had no decay or cavities whatsoever. That was a definite plus. They also give you a free toothbrush and toothpaste. read more

I called to make my appointment 5 weeks ago and was surprised to find out the next appointment was tomorrow (in 5 weeks!). Today, they call me to tell me that the appointment is canceled because the hygienist can't make it. The next appointment? Another 5 weeks! The receptionist made no attempt to squeeze me in earlier and made it extremely clear they just don't care (she never apologized or anything). I'd just switch dentists immediately, but unfortunately my HMO sucks and has very few options. read more

DON"T AGREE TO PAY FOR DR. KRITS LAWYER. I just went to get a crown. After I sat down, they pulled down a computer monitor and asked me to sign 4 screens of legal jargon. Each paragraph required a signature on a digital pad. I agreed to 90% of it, even the part where they said densitry is "not an exact science" (news to me). When I reached the last paragraph it said "I agree to pay for the dentist's legal fees". Under what circumstance should I pay his legal fees? I told them I would NOT agree to pay the Dr. Krits laywers under any circumstance. When I said I wouldn't sign the one paragraph, the guy escorted me briskly all the way to the very front door, like a bouncer in a bar. I had to hold steadfast and insist they refund $450. While they processed my credit, the bouncer (dental assitant) breathed down my neck and rushed me to the front door a 2nd time. To be treated this way after 11 years of being a patient was horrible. Dr. Krists: I don't know why you are sking patient to pay for your lawyer. I had dental work for 40 years and never had to invole a lawyer. My appointment was on 03/29. read more

I went to this place because they took my insurance (HMO), but I'll go back and send my family there because they performed perfectly. Now, our family has had awful experiences with the other providers on my insurance, so my expectations were low. I was also scared about the other reviews (citysearch.com) I found via google, but since I did find one favorable review on yelp.com, I tried it. And like that yelper, I am glad I did. Actually, I went there twice. Once for the exam and once for a filling. Both times, I bicycled there. There is no place to tie up a bike, but I improvised. The staff greeted me with a smile when I came in, and had me sign in. I didn't have to fill out any forms because I had done it all on-line beforehand. In fact during the entire visit I didn't have to deal with paper forms - all my signatures were digitized on tablets... maybe that's just how they do it these days, and it seems way more efficient. I sat down and watched the fish tank and I was called after only a few minutes. Both times, I was prepped and didn't have to wait long at all for Dr. Bonilla, who was professional, and listened to my concerns. In fact, all the staff were friendly, fast, and professional! Now keep in mind, I only had a filling done on my front tooth which is chipped, so it wasn't that involved, and as such I'm not sure how they do on more advanced dentistry. But, I have no reason to believe it wouldn't be great. read more

I REALLY hate going to the dentist. I've gone to other dentists who were cold and had poor bed-side manner. However, dental hygiene is vital so I reluctantly signed up as a new patient at Western Dental. Much to my dismay, at my checkup I had to make a following appointment for cavity fillings. (Another reviewer mentioned that they thought it was weird they had to make a follow up appointment to get fillings. This seems pretty standard since they take time and you're getting anesthesia.) I digress.. My next appointment greatly exceeded my expectations. Dr. Behmanesh and Angelica made me feel extremely comfortable and the fillings were relatively painless. I would highly recommend this office. I still don't look forward to having to go to the dentist but this office has definitely improved the experience. Thanks! read more

I had such a pleasant experience at Western Traiils Dental that I had to share the joy. The staff are all incredibly friendly at 7:30am and went above and beyond when helping me figure out treatment plans and financial details. What would normally stress me out beyond measure turned into a simple, reassuring process. Also, the aquariums throughout the office are absolutely gorgeous. And while my assumption goes unconfirmed, I would bet that the aquarium in the lobby is a clear nod to Finding Nemo. There's a big clown fish and a little one, and even a little Dori. I will admit I took about a dozen pictures. Truly a great indicator of a phenominal dentistry practice. read more

Being in the industry I can be pretty picky about the Dentist and Hygienist I chose to go to. I wouldn't think twice about following Dr. Ana Salinas to any office she works at. She is super friendly, efficient, and makes you feel like family in her office. Marissa, the Dental Hygienist is also fantastic...she removed the lower staining I had from the typical coffee, tea, and red wine stain most of us have. I felt like they both took their time with me and never felt rushed. As I mentioned earlier being in the industry we know what's good and the staff here is definitely great. This is my new dental home. If you are anywhere in the Austin area don't wait give their office a call today, you'll be glad you did. read more

I was making a switch to an "In Network" dentist for insurance purposes. I tried to make an appointment at Rose Dental but the staff there failed on many levels. I was able to make an appointment here rather easily. I showed up at my appointment here and everything was normal.....until the dental exam. The Dentist raced through my exam, barely communicating with me at all. After 10-minutes or less, she said my treatment plan would be at the front desk and walked out. 10-minutes = a treatment plan that amounted to $6000 I simply returned to my "out of network" dentist and paid substantially more but felt satisfied with the quality of care and confidence in the process. read more

This is a mixed review. I will never go to this practice again. Dr Krits is very good - I like his confidence - his work is good and I have seen so many dentists in my lifetime, I feel I am an excellent judge of this. His staff wear gloves that smell like mildew - this is most unpleasant. The problem is his staff. I was given bad rates, but told to purchase dental insurance because it would help and would not conflict with the very bad indemnity offered by my employer. They kept repeatedly calling me telling me if I did not get the work done, I would have a very bad situation in my mouth. I finally agreed to come in and they gave me one price of $700 for the crown and then later came back and charged me over $1600 because they insisted that the indemnity was primary and they did not have to respect the rates of the insurance I purchased. They have been aggressively collecting ever since. With my prior employer (old plan) they received a little over $800 total for a crown. This was reasonable. Now with two plans I have to pay $1500 (plus the $132 paid by the indemnity)? Worse yet, because they pulled the crown and replaced it, I now have a tooth that is abcessing and I cannot afford to fix it. Their business practices are not good - I cannot do further business with them no matter how much I might like the doctor himself. read more

While confirming my appointment I asked the receptionist some questions regarding pricing which seemed to irritate her. I just had 2 crowns done with Dr. Salinas. She is my kind of doctor. She really seems to care and exudes competence. The report she had with her dental assistants was impressive. Other dentists seem to dismiss them just as help but Dr. Salinas you could tell was mentoring them. Overall I had a wonderful experience here. read more

Poor communication, lack of organization, high-pressure approach Before this bad experience, I had been a patient here for two years. At that time I was seeing Dr. Behmanesh (she is no longer with them.) I had always had a pleasant experience before this visit. I wanted to stay with WTD because it is so convenient to where I work, but instead I will go back to see Dr. Behmanesh at her new practice. When I called to make my appointment, I specifically said, "I have a crown that has broken and I need it to be replaced." I assumed the person taking my call would have scheduled me for the procedure, or perhaps the appropriate reply should have been, "You need to be evaluated by the dentist first, and you will have to return for the crown replacement procedure." Of course, NONE of this was communicated to me, so I went in assuming I would be able to have the crown replaced the day of my scheduled appointment. Also, after I made the appointment, they called me a couple days later and asked for me to change the day of my visit. I explained to them that it was really difficult for me to get off of work and could I please keep the original scheduled time. They were fine with it. .... Well, the next day they call me AGAIN, and ask if I would like to add a cleaning to my visit. Again, I tell them no, that I really just want the issue of the broken crown addressed. Anyway, I get there and the dental hygenist tells me I am due for my bitewing x-rays. I obliged and had them take the films. Well, she does those and then she gets out this other camera thing that she proceeds to jam very uncomfortably into my mouth. Then, she pulls up the pictures and starts going over each one of my teeth pointing out all these little flaws. So, I can see where this is leading... they are going to try to get me to schedule more procedures. All the while I am wondering why are they not just working on the reason I came... THE BROKEN CROWN!!?? So, the dentist finallly comes in and starts talking about how I should get veneers for my front teeth. Then she tells me that I will need more crowns on other teeth. So, I finally say that I really just want them to address the crown that is broken. Then the hygenist tells me there is no time to replace my crown. So, I told her that perhaps if they spent the time they did trying to upsell me on more procedures they could have worked on my crown. Of course, she gets irritated with me and says that there is no way they could do the crown in that amount of time. She goes out to talk to the front desk regarding the issue. By this time I realize that I am just wasting my time with these people, and even if they could squeeze me in to do the crown that day I wouldn't want them to do it. So, unless you want to get a high-pressure sales pitch to get more work done on your teeth all the while dealing with an unorganized office staff, I would stay away. read more

I went there because i had tooth pain and it turned to a terrible experience. First i have waited for more than 40 min to see the dentist. They have tried to reach my insurance for a while then gave me some paperwork to complete. After 40 min., finally I've seen the dentist. She said my wisdom tooth must be extracted. I accepted that and they started the procedure. It took them almost an hour to finish it and it was a terrible experience for me. I felt pain and swallowed lots of blood. After they extracted my tooth, I felt dizzy and had to sit for a while to stand up. They told me bleeding will stop in an hour but it continued almost 12 hours. After a week, still feel pain. Make yourself a favor and DONT go there. They are not professionals and only care about how much more they can charge to customers. I don't recommend this place to anyone. read more

Stay Away! This office has had trouble for the past 2 years keeping dental Hygienists. My last appointment in Feb was cancelled because they had no Hygienist and then I missed their call to confirm appointment phone call and they cancelled me out of my appointment! They called me on Wednessday to confirm a Monday appointment. When they didn't hear back from me by Thursday at 2 pm they cancelled my appointment, which I had to make with them 6 months in advance. To make matters worse I purchased their in house dental plan and it expires at the end of the month so I am not able to receive my second appointment which I technically already paid for. read more

Warning....know your insurance benefits before you go! Knowing my insurance pays for cleanings and fillings 100%, with a cleaning and a filling I was going to have to pay $139 out of pocket after having treatment there...um, I don't think so! The doctor prescribed a debridement cleaning ($90 charge not covered by insurance) which according to my insurance is usually done when your teeth haven't been cleaned in a long time...my teeth have been cleaned twice prior in the last 6 months! Also, they were going to charge me $49 for the desensitizing medication they use (optional and not necessary to use in a filling also not covered by insurance) when doing fillings. When I told them that I didn't want those options, I was told that they were not optional and that they would not treat me otherwise! Wow...so making extra money treating your patients with unnecessary add ons is more important than ensuring the patient gets the treatment needed with having some say within his own treatment plan! I filed a complaint with my insurance...I urge others to do so as well who have had similar experiences. With a significant amount of complaints, insurance companies will not renew the contract with the doctor! I felt that they were totally trying to rip me off! Sad because I did like the staff and doctor up until the point of handing me my treatment plan! read more

I guess I had three bad experiences here. For my first appointment they only did xrays and had to reschedule me for a cleaning the next day. They called the day of to notify me the hygienist was sick and I would need to reschedule. Then for the confirmation of my appointment I had to return their call by 2pm the day before or my appointment would be canceled. This is too high maintenance for me. read more

I have been going to this practice since Dr. Thorndale (I think that was his name) was the dentist and he had one dental assistant and his wife ran the front office. Since then it has changed names twice and I have seen numerous dentists filter through. I have stayed with them because they were accomodating and would work with you on payments and just about any issue that would come up. Well all that has changed. After being a loyal patient for almost 20 years and paying off thousands and thousands of dollars, last year I went in for a new partial and was not happy with the entire process. They will nickle and dime you for every last penny they can squeeze out of you and will be rude while doing it. The dentist and his dental assistant are really nice but the front office staff if horrible. They must make a commission on how much extra money they can charge. I have learned to call my insurance and let them tell me how much to expect to pay or they will code the treatment for a higher price. And the answering machine is a joke because you will never get a call back. I would love to change dentist but it is so hard with the DH MO. read more

This is absolutely the WORST dentist experience. STAY AWAY. They not only sent my bill to the wrong person (a different client), but that person's name was still on it when I eventually got the bill. They reported me to collections within 2-3 months without ever calling me about the bill. When I found out and asked them to send me the bill, they sent it to the wrong address (My street is Triumph and they sent it to Triton or something). When I finally got the bill (with the right name, with the right address) it has an invoice that says I owe $252 with absolutely NO indication of what that amount is for. And a "ledger" that says I owe $407. So now I'm in the process of ALSO trying to get them to send me the right amount. I asked for an estimate for how much a procedure would cost and was quoted $166. I paid the $166 at the office. It turns out my insurance doesn't cover the almost $700 procedure at all. I have no idea where they got the $166 number. Nobody ever answers the phone or is able to help me. They cannot email me, but insist on doing everything through snail mail. They will not certify mail or do anything to make sure the snail mail actually gets to me. It is a disaster that has taken up hours of my life and is stressing me out. read more

The previous DMO clinic was the worst medical experience I've ever had, but I was able to get a bunch of teeth pulled off the one visit -before changing the PCD to Dr. Krits. They picked up where things were left off, and did it fast, friendly, and were very tolerant of a meltdown that I had over thinking my dentures would be delayed b/c yet another tooth broke and had to be pulled. They have a great sense of humor and I feel very comfortable there. read more

It is really amazing to find someone who cares more about the patients health than getting paid. The staff is very nice, accommodating, knowledgeable, and professional. DO NOT GO TO RIVER CITY DENTAL They have stalled me for 4 months trying to just get a cleaning. After waiting 1.5 months they called me 24 hours ahead of my appt. and changed the time. I couldn't make the change so I had to wait another month. On that day they gave me the wrong directions on the phone which made me 10 minutes late. Then they asked if I had filled out the new patient paperwork online. I said i was never told and they said they should have told me when I first set the appointment. Thus, I had to take 15 minutes to fill out the paperwork. Because of the delay, they didn't give me the cleaning. Instead the scheduled it for 1 week later. I was laid off in between that time and lost my benefits. I asked them honor the co-pay price because they were the ones who caused the appointment to get pushed. They told me that both of these items weren't their fault and that I'd have to pay the $85 non-benefit, full-price. They are awfully cheery over there but look at you funny when you ask questions. I explained my displeasure and this girl's smile never changed as she repeated over and over, "oh, I'm sorry. there's nothing we can do." Are they just beaten down by the heathcare system or is it the management philosophy? Either way, they have no accountability and poor customer service. DO NOT GO TO RIVER CITY DENTAL. read more
