On our…read morefirst day, we specifically asked the receptionist whether we could bring our own drinks to the sitting area, and we were told that it was allowed. Based on that information, we felt comfortable doing so during our stay. By our third day, she began putting up signs and continued to harass us, stating, "This is the last time I will tell you," even though we had already explained that we were acting based on guidance from the front desk. What made this especially uncomfortable was that we felt singled out, and the repeated confrontations came across as targeted and discriminatory, raising serious concerns about possible racial bias. Clear communication between staff and respectful treatment of guests are essential. Unfortunately, this ongoing behavior overshadowed our experience and reflects poorly on the hotel's customer service standards. I hope management addresses both the inconsistency in policy communication and the lack of professionalism shown.

Lots of great sides or mains here. I especially loved the artichoke dip and crispy little bread that went with it! You can hang out in the swanky little bar area with a piano in the room and perfect lighting and just a whole vibe. Or you can enjoy it in their dining room. We did one of each from 2 seperate visits (me and my friend Danielle). It was one of our favorite things we did on both trips. So much history and art and just amazing service awesome people working here that really care about their craft!

We've had mixed experiences with boutique hotels, but this is an example of one done well. It's conveniently located downtown on Main Street (upstairs) and is a perfect way to either visit the city, or enjoy a night while passing through. The front desk is virtual in the form of text messaging, which we had zero issue with getting our room code and to check out, and we found they responded to our inquiry about parking promptly. The parking lot is off of Railroad street in a public lot that we had zero issues with. The electronic locks for the rooms took a moment to understand, but worked fine to lock/unlock the room. (Hint: Double tap the logo and the keypad appears). Though the pricing can be a bit expensive, it seems in line with what you can expect to pay in mountain towns. Overall, our stay at The Inn left us with the feeling that we got what we paid for, and we would absolutely stay here again.

Plenty of parking close by. Nice decore, plenty of hot water and good bathroom. Sent text 2 days prior to visit. No response. Directions didn't say that door needed to be locked electronicaly when you left the room. For first 24 hrs I couldn't get the door to lock. I was told that the doors needed adjustment. The safe in the room was already locked when I arrived. Was told they couldn't find the key fob to open it. Took a day to fix. New toilet had 3 or 4 problems. Installed incorrectly. I fixed a few of the issues to keep it from sticking but still could use some work. I didn't have any noise issues. The restaurant below closes at 9pm. I stayed 3 nites and was hiking most days and going to bed at 8-9pm. The mattress and pillows were fantastic as well as well functioning A/C and a good ice machine. There are no dressers in the room. Not even luggage stands. You Have to work out of your luggage from the floor. Not good for this level of Inn. No usable chair in the room. There was one "sling" chair that was not easy to sit on and zero back support. I like a chair to read. I don't like to have to sit in the bed whenever I used the room. I sat in the chair to put on my socks and boots and the chair tipped over and my forehead struck the edge of the bed leaving a half inch cut. Minimal blood. Trash, trash, trash!!!! There was one trash can located in the bathroom and no place to empty trash. Hydrate, hydrate. I used a case of water and 16 bottles of Gatorade. Nowhere to put the empty bottles. There are 25 steps to to rooms. I am athletic older man. It was painful to carry multiple 40 lb. suitcases and packs up those stair. The Inn did send me a text...... on the last day, asking what they could do to improve my stay. To little too late. I have been gone for 4 days. I had expected the INN to reach out to me personally about my issues. I expect the owner to respond to this review. That is all u can expect for service during you stay.... The perfunctory virtual response. This place has potential but alot to learn about hospitality. I sincerely wish them luck.

What's not to love? Not sure I even want to share this place…read morewith anyone else who might not appreciate it, but I hv benefitted from it and I hope this helps others find it as well. My friend brought me here, saying, if I'm going to try any hostel, anywhere in the world, it should be here or his other favorite - in Wales. It is a gorgeous autumn in Colorado, so Breckinridge it is. How incredibly fortunate for me that my first hostel was here. I'm constantly reminded that not every hostel is so nice. What a lovely place. Well appointed, so clean - which is all important in this pandemic time. Everyone is friendly. We stayed in a 6-bunk room with a total 4 ppl in it. The less agile (that'd be me) was lucky to get a lower bunk (not sure how that works, we lucked out that not all the berths were full!) The other two ppl were solo travelers, one from South America, the other from Russia. They were friendly and polite. We all did our own thing; I crashed out early, so I wasn't bothered at all that another guest had to pack luggage for an early flight out the next day. There are outlets at each bunk, even USB chargers And a lamp which was a necessity when hvg to walk to the bathroom in the middle of the night. I thought the room was comfortable; temps got down into the 30's overnight but I was comfortably cozy in my bed with its duvet; there were extra blankets in the closet if needed. My friend thought it too warm but he runs that way, but he slept thru the night fine too. A word about the bedding: mine was fine, clean, smelled clean. But one of the other bunks had yellowed bedding - with stains. I presume it was washed and cleaned just looked used, and if you got there in daylight or with all the lights on, one would hv seen it, but I didn't till the next morning when we were getting ready to leave and that might've bn off putting. I came down early, just before sunrise The general areas were at a comfortable temp. Wasn't time yet for breakfast, but some kind soul had already started the coffee. I went for a walk, took some pix, came back once guests had started to straggle in. What a friendly, informative bunch! My friend tells me that's most hostel-goers. And the food was pretty good, pancakes, eggs, cereal; I got the oatmeal and an English muffin. The coffee smelled really good. And I was so happy they had powdered hot chocolate too! Special mention must be made of Belage (sorry, may hv misspelled) but he is a welcoming, knowledgeable host and made us feel at home. If you come here, please contribute positively. I worry that the wrong sort would detract from such a lovely accommodation and experience. And yeah, I'll hv to keep in mind that almost certainly other hostels aren't like this, but it is now my gold standard.

This motel has a lot going for it: WiFi, streaming television, tea bags, tea kettle, microwave. They provide rags, should you come in with lots of trail dust or grime from a hike or bike ride. Firepit, complete with smores fixings on some of the nights. There were a couple of rather minor things that could have been better. The heater was on, I tried turning it off at the thermostat, but no matter what we did, it was still warm to the touch. That meant the windows had to be open for cross ventilation and that allowed very loud street noise from CO Hwy 24 and that means heavy equipment and mining trucks, plus loud motorcycles until at least midnight, and then starting up early morning. The Timberline is not a restful place in the summer months - That must be why there were 4 sets of ear plugs in the bathroom. There is no ice available at the motel. The Timberline was also a bit impersonal; all interaction is done by text. While they were quite prompt with any request, there was no human interaction or personal touch during the days we were there.

First impression was that it was an older…read morelodge, and had not been recently updated for at least 10 or 20 years due to the outdated-looking linens, dirty carpeting, and the "landlord special" type paint jobs and caulking. The room was fairly clean, however, we did find that there were spider webs in the bathroom (with live spiders), dead bugs smashed and stuck to the ceilings and window sills, and the carpet was stained and needed a good vacuuming as there was dirt and pieces of dried mud. The welcome sheets were very cleverly written (by Misty we found out) and were a nice bonus. The beds were a bit stiff, and not all that comfortable, but they were made, and there were plenty of fresh fluffy towels for us to use. We did move the couch in the room closer to the fireplace (I guess this is unheard of by the owner from their reply, I mean who'd think people could want to sit and be comfortable in front of the fire), as we bought some duraflame logs to use in the fire (we were given 1 (not two as the owner has assumed as they always "can't find" any (depends who you ask, Scott said they had none but then when the lady who cleans the rooms heard we wanted one she was somehow able to make one appear out of thin air*), and when we did move the couch we found they do not clean behind/under it, as we found someone's vape pen, and a hair pick. The owner's reply says it is "too difficult" to move the couch and clean in it after every guest's stay, which I find disturbing. This means that any dandruff, trash, or fluids they leave behind are just sitting there on the couch waiting for the next guess. Gross. The room had a small kitchenette, with a double hotplate to use as a stove. The provided dishes were all mostly cleaned spotless, and they had all the basic necessities if you were to cook. However, the faucet of the sink broke off once during use, and caused quite the mess. We were able to fix it and clean the water up and it was fine afterwards, it just needed to be screwed down properly. The grounds are wonderful, and they have many hanging potted flowers, and hanging hummingbird feeders, so there are always a TON of hummingbirds flying to and from. They also have a pond that you can fish from, so long as it is only catch and release. The bad: Our heater went out once each night we stayed, sometime late and night, so we always woke up freezing cold. It was raining the entire time we stayed, so the temperatures dropped to the 40s at night. When we tried to call the office to get the heater fixed when we woke up, we found they don't have the office or phones staffed 24/7, and had to call the phone number provided to us about a million and a half times before a sleepy voice answered to help us out. *Edit: We're so sorry it was a big deal for the owner to have to wake up and get in the shower to come fix the heater that was supposed to have been working properly in the first place so we had a warm room to come back to when we were finished with work. Edit: Changed to 1/5 stars due to owner's response. They basically called us liars. Not the way to approach customer service. Instead of getting defensive maybe try to apologize for the issues we had, and ensure it doesn't happen to customers in the future. And yes, we did call them over and over again starting at 6am, as that is when we had to wake up and shower because we had to be at work by 7am, and our room was in the high 40s. Who'd have thought that when you get out of the shower you'd like to be warm, apparently a crazy concept for the lodge. I've also attached a screenshot of their "summer weather" during our stay. I'm sure most people won't find a 46 degree low anywhere near "tropic." Now when I come back to Bailey for business we will never return to the lodge. Good riddance.
