This place is truly amazing. We have been two years in a row now and they just keep getting better and better. Our absolute favorite thing is the outdoor hot tubs. It is so nice to be in them, especially when it is snowing.  This year we decided to try something new and utilize the onsite movie theatre. It was sooooo cute and they had a million movie options. They also had a microwave in there which made making popcorn for the movie efficient. My only complaint is that many of the chairs were broken so it was hard for my husband and I to sit next to each other.  We also love the onsite restaurant. Their food is always good, they just seem to sell out of their menu items a lot, they also have a very small selection of alcoholic beverages. But every time we get food there, it is so delicious and the service is great.  This place is so magical that this year (after being to Colorado 5 times) we saw 3 moose as we were exiting the property one morning.  Highly recommend this place!

We encountered Grand Timber Lodge through interval international. We ended up staying with them for a week and I wish I could say the experience was better. The pros: --the views --beds were comfy --hot water came quickly through the pipes --good wifi --amenities in the main lodge like their shuttle bus, hot tub, pool, game area, showers, and lockers--which we never used. The cons: --Washer was moldy and smelled terrible. We could not use it.-- See pic --Door knobs still exist here!! I hope this is not the standard in all rooms because it is not ADA compliant; see pic --There are stairs to get to the rooms. The elevator took us to the 2nd floor from the garage but we had to carry our luggage up and down the stairs. That was an inconvenience and not good for those with physical limitations.--see pic --Upon check in, they require your license plate number. Also the garage requires a key card for entry, but if you forget to put up your parking placard you will be threatened with a boot (they even posted a phone number to call if your car gets stuck with a boot). What was the purpose of giving the resort my license plate number then? --Upon check in, we were told there was a restaurant on site but that it would be closed during most of our stay to prepare for the busy season. So we were stuck having to eat off site even when we did not want to. --Upon check in I had to meet with one person, then had to check in with another person to get details on the resort. --There's a FAQ list (see pic) posted in the room that specifically states upon check out that we should: 1) load the dishwasher with all our dirty dishes and start the dishwasher before check out and 2) take out the garbage to the trash chute I've never been told by any resort to take all these extra steps to help the housekeeping staff out before check out. --Prior to getting settled in we always make sure to wipe down all tables/side tables/counters with anti-bacterial wipes. Our wipes had a lot of dust and dirt on them. --The hallway noise was loud which woke us up early each day --The location is not walking distance to Breckenridge Main street (although they do offer a shuttle) --Lights in the entryway, dining area, and kitchen area flickered in and out sometimes like a strobe light. There's way too many light switches in this unit (some we did not even know what they turned on) that I think it may be a safety hazard (as evidenced by the flickering?)--see video (unfortunately Yelp is not letting me upload this video) --Dining room lights were hung way too low. They were literally in our face and blinded us by the brightness (see picture). Who wants to eat staring straight into a shining light bulb? We avoided ever turning these lights on. --The door peep hole is about 15 inches from the top of the door so someone like myself who is 5'3" could not see who was at the door (even if I stood on a chair, if the person at my door was shorter than the height of the peep hole I would not be able to see them either)--an ADA compliance issue and even an issue for non-disabled people (see pic)

Excellent customer service. Was confronted with a double booking at 11 PM but was able to find a staff member that fixed it for us. Awesome units with everything you could need to make your stay more enjoyable. Conveniently located right on the ski area shuttle bus line. I would definitely recommend staying here.

Woke up early to light snowfall on golden aspens, clicked on my fireplace, made a pot of coffee and read some of my Jeff Carson novel (Colorado author)! Really, what a great getaway here in Breckenridge! These condos are equipped with everything you need! You can basically park your car in the garage until you are ready to go home! The free shuttle service (gratuity accepted) will take you downtown and to the grocery store. From there you can catch free busses around the local area. The concierge told us about the fall passport for dining. The $10 purchase goes to charity and you get deals at many local restaurants! We ate at restaurants we would not have tried, had we not been told about the passport! Yum! But about this beautiful property: Fully stocked kitchen with starter coffee packages Fireplace in the large one bedroom Six person dining table in large one bedroom Couch and two chairs with large screen TV in the large one bedroom King size bed in large one bedroom Bathroom suite has a double sink and tub in one area with a separate Jack and Jill toilet and sink and shower in the other area-huge! Plenty of lighting Ceiling fans Washer/dryer with soap Deck I think I could move in! We had a large one bedroom with a suite lock-off for a which gave us 2 BR. We overlooked the pool and spa area (the large one) and we had easy access to all amenities including the gym, the bar/restaurant, the pools and hot tubs, etc. This time I did hear more noise that other reviewers talk about, but it was very quiet when we were sleeping. This is my favorite of the Grand Vacations properties, but they all have advantages! I recommend checking this one out!

Old dirty stained mattresses for three days on property.

We had a stay here at grand timber lodge and one hour into checking in we had to book a new place to stay. The carpet is stained. Nothing is updated. The bathroom was filthy. Absolutely not able to accommodate a family of four in a studio. And the worst part was for three days they had their old stained mattresses on the property for everyone to see how disgusting they were. Gross. Very outdated. Dirty. Don't waste your money.

If there was a 3.5 I would choose it. Adequate rooms - nothing fancy but clean and all the amenities you could want, but you can't really control the heat! It gets so hot you have to open the windows even with the heat turned off. It's an annoyance but workable. They huge hot tubs and pool by buildings 5 and 6 are great. The resort is ski in/out but you do have to walk a bit for ski out, but not more than 100 yards. It would be nice if they had more ski lockers near the ski out - they were always full. They have underground parking, plenty of activities for kids and adults, a spa, a bar/restaurant, and dvds to borrow, all on the property. You also get a killer view from some of the rooms.

Hotel area.

Pluses - Very friendly staff. Polite, always available and very helpful! - The resort is clean and has sanitizers everywhere - Beautiful view!!! - The resort is big, has a lot of activities, such as: pool, hot tub, movie theater, activity room, restaurant and etc Minuses - No early check in. Had to wait till 4pm, you spend most of your day waiting. - I would like to know up front about all COVID policies. Such as closing sauna and activities room. Also, our building did not have ice machine. The only building that did not have one. So,being updated is extremely important in this time. * This does not reflect on the hotel, but if they offer you a tour for a discount price, do not take it unless you want to spend 2 hours of your life listening about time share for 30,000$. So far, good experience will come back.

Moose on property.

This place is awesome but huge. Walking distance to town and close to the ski lifts. Easy to ski in and great shuttle service to/from lifts and town. Even a momma moose and her calf agree that this place is a great place to stay.

This is the view from Building 7, not exactly "panoramic."

Our first visit to the Grand Timer lodge in the summer of 2013 was pleasant enough - at that point they were trying to sell us on a time share. So it was astounding that on our return trip a year later - when we would potentially sign up - everything went to hell in a hand basket. We arrived early, did the preliminary check-in and were told we would receive a call when the room was ready. Bear in mind this is summertime at a ski resort - the relatively slow season - so we were stunned when two hours after the official check in time a room was finally allocated to us. Other reviewers rave about the views and granted there are some lovely outlooks, just not from our room. (we've posted a pic, you won't miss it). Our unit was spitting distance - literally - backing on to a block of units that has seen better days. Don't get me wrong, I loved 'Animal House,' I just don't expect to be immersed in frat house culture when you're expecting a luxury, mountain retreat getaway. On our first night, we were treated to our neighbors performing a long playlist of Karaoke's Greatest Hits - full tilt, out of tune, in their underwear - until 3am. At which point I was wondering if "I Would Survive." Gloria Gaynor wouldn't if she'd heard how they'd butchered her song. Our calls to the front desk went unanswered and it seems they had no security guards on night shift. When we raised the ruckus with the receptionist the next morning, her response was "oh you should have called us." Right. How about moving us away? "Not possible, we're at full capacity." I would have believed her if the parking garage wasn't half empty and we'd seen more than 50 guests on the grounds all day. Needless, to say we didn't buy into the property. I will grant them, the shuttle is very convenient and the bar tender serves the best Bloody Mary west of the Rockies. Perhaps if we'd indulged in a few more vodkas, the horrible view would have been too blurry to focus on. I would agree though, with their tag line "Let the Grand Timber Lodge help you create memories that last a lifetime" - the image of our neighbor shaking his y-fronts, while karaoking into the wee hours of the morning, will stay with me a lifetime.

Nastiness from the jetted tub. Housekeeping cleaned it up, but it didn't seem to take care of the issue so we didn't use it.

My buddy and I finally made the drive over from Arizona and had a blast skiing here. Breckenridge Ski Resort (or just Breck) is a popular resort that is owned and operated by Vail Resorts, Inc. We have Epic Passes and used them while we were here. Breckenridge Ski Resort opened in 1961 and has a total of 35 chair lifts. It has five peaks that are part of the Ten Mile Range. We stayed in nearby Frisco and made the short drive over each morning. We then took the BreckConnect Gondola to Peak 8 and began our day there. Lower Peak 8 is home to the base village of Breckenridge Ski Resort. There are places to eat, shop and rent gear in this area. For trails, there is a good mix of beginner, intermediate and advanced runs that you can access from Lower Peak 8. Check out Ullr, the Norse god of Snow statue while you are here at base village. My buddy and I are intermediate skiers that mix in some black runs here and there. I personally have been skiing since my teenage years. We spent most of our first day skiing runs off the Colorado and Rocky Mountain Superchair lifts to get our warmup reps in. We then finished our day hitting some blue runs over at Peak 6. There are a number of places to grab food and drinks. We hit Sevens (at the base of Peak 7) for an early morning Bloody Mary. We also grabbed lunch at T-Bar over at base village. But for the most part, we snacked on granola bars and other goodies that we carried in our pockets. We like to grab hotels that have a big continental breakfast so that we don't have to spend a lot of cash on food on the slopes. Day Two we wanted more challenging runs. Some people told us that Whale's Tail is a good challenge and fun to ski on. Whale's Tail is a double black diamond run that has a 604-foot drop, from 12,858 to 12,254 feet. It is nestled between Peak 7 and 8 and you have to take the Imperial Express lift to get to it. Imperial Express is the highest lift in North America at 12,840 feet. Crossing the catwalk in strong windy weather was no fun. But you get beautiful views of the entire mountain from the top of Whale's Tail once you get there. If was worth the challenge and we had fun skiing down it. The rest of the day we took it easy and skied mostly green and blue runs over at Peak 8 and 9 to wrap up our trip. We enjoyed hanging out in the town of Breckenridge after our two days of skiing. The town itself is very charming and has a number of bars and restaurants. Breckenridge attracts all sorts of outdoor enthusiasts in both the summer and winter. Breckenridge Ski Resort has made the town a popular destination for skiers since it opened in the 60's. The town is definitely worth a stop after a day on the slopes.

Our group ran a little late and I ended up being the only person who showed up, and the staff could not have been more patient or accommodating about it. I was fortunate enough to get what essentially felt like a private ride, which made the whole experience feel very personal. They give you a walkie talkie so they can share updates and explain what you're looking at along the way, which I really appreciated because it made the ride feel intentional and educational rather than just scenic transportation. The snowcat itself is super comfortable and cozy. There are seat belts, thick blankets in the seating area, and the heat kicks on so you are warm the whole time. The cabin has large glass panels on all sides, so you can see the forest, the mountains, and the groomed trails without being exposed to the cold. The ride is very gentle and smooth, and they move at a reasonable pace while being thoughtful about cross country skiers on the trail, stopping when needed to let people pass. I found myself completely mesmerized watching the grooming attachment in front reshape the snow and lay down those perfectly clean parallel ski tracks. We stopped at a historic cabin that had been relocated and rebuilt years ago, and it was cozy inside with a guest book and bits of history to read. I ended up wanting to get back into the snowcat fairly quickly because it was so warm and comfortable in there, and the views from inside were amazing. It was quiet, beautiful, and surprisingly peaceful, and I came away with some great photos on my film camera and a super memorable first snowcat experience.

We did the willow (easy) snowshoeing trail which took about 40 minutes and offered beautiful views, a route under the gondolas and being in the trees with lots of cute squirrels.
