Our mid-April weekend stay at The Timberline was incredible! Our group was larger than what the loft could hold, so we claimed a hotel room as well. The loft was gorgeous with its vaulted ceilings, open concept, fun artwork, comfy couches, and a large dining table to boot. The high-end kitchen provided everything we needed to make our own meals...including a huge refrigerator for our food and beverages, granite counter tops, pots, pans, plates, bowls, dinnerware, and glassware. There are 3 separate bedrooms (2 with their own ensuites) that are roomy and cute. This place can accommodate up to 6-8 easily...depending on how much you love each other. The owners have added their own kitschy style that adds to the character of this place. Provided are plenty of games to play and a large tv to view. It also includes a community open fire in the courtyard with all the "fixins" you need for s'mores! The Timberline is located on Leadville's main street. It's walking distance to local coffee shops, restaurants, and shops. We even ordered out one night from the yummy pizza joint right across the street...WHICH HAD A MENU THAT ACCOMMODATED OUR GF FRIENDS. The extra hotel room was also wonderful. It had 1 large bed in the main room, bunk beds in the back, a bathroom, and a small kitchen nook with a sink to make your coffee and/or keep your snacks. It too had its own style and came with a personal note from the staff. It definitely met our needs. I highly recommend staying at The Timberline. I consider this place a hidden gem for now, but I assure you, that won't last long!

Based on that information, we felt comfortable doing so during our stay. By our third day, she began putting up signs and continued to harass us, stating, "This is the last time I will tell you," even though we had already explained that we were acting based on guidance from the front desk. What made this especially uncomfortable was that we felt singled out, and the repeated confrontations came across as targeted and discriminatory, raising serious concerns about possible racial bias. Clear communication between staff and respectful treatment of guests are essential. Unfortunately, this ongoing behavior overshadowed our experience and reflects poorly on the hotel's customer service standards. I hope management addresses both the inconsistency in policy communication and the lack of professionalism shown.

Lots of great sides or mains here. I especially loved the artichoke dip and crispy little bread that went with it! We did one of each from 2 seperate visits (me and my friend Danielle). It was one of our favorite things we did on both trips. So much history and art and just amazing service awesome people working here that really care about their craft!

Like others have said, the Alps is comfortable and includes the amenities that most people want. It certainly is cheaper than most other Leadville motels and a good value. It isn't large enough to have a breakfast and that helps keep the prices down. When full, the parking can be tight but not really a problem unless you are pulling an ATV trailer. Watch the water temperature, Jeff makes sure the water is hot for the cold Leadville winters. We will stay here again.

Though I had originally intended to only stay for about five days the breakdown of my car stranded me there for the better part of two weeks. This hotel is probably one of the best in the mountain top town of Leadville which is located just off of HWY 24S. about 70 miles southwest of Denver. The rooms are nicely furnished, equipped with small fridges and microwaves and are very reasonably priced. The owners were on vacation during my time there but the former owners who were holding down the fort were extremely personable and helpful during that most trying of weeks on the road. Located at the edge of a town which stands at 10,430 feet elevation, the motel offers a scenic view of the nearby snow covered mountain peaks.

The WiFi was off and on Their cable TV sucks, I couldn't able to change to another channel using their remote. The Good: Their breakfast and the dinning area was awesome!! It's looks like they have a Super8 type of room but the breakfast looks like a Hilton because they have everything from waffle maker, cereals, bagels, hard boiled eggs, banana, coffee, juice, etc.... They have plenty of table to seat, there are some beautiful pictures hanging on the wall and a TV. Pretty nice area to enjoy your breakfast. Their housekeeping was pretty good too!! Normally I don't like people making my bed but after running the trail marathon and come back to my room with my bed nicely made and everything was organized, I was impressed. Their bed is firm, very comfy, the pillows were ok, sheets and cover are clean. The hot shower feels amazing after being on the trail all day!! JUST BRING YOUR OWN SHOWER HEAD!!!! The room was clean and the rate was good but there isn't much else to praise about the accommodations. The room we booked was very basic with an OK queen-size bed. However, there were two things lacking in the room that I expect even with a basic motel. The room did not have air conditioning and it was fairly warm the day we checked in. We also had to deal with more noise from the parking lot in the morning with the window open. The second complaint is that there was just one outlet in the entire sleeping area of the room. That one outlet had a triple tap and an extension cord plugged into it, with multiple lamps, the TV, and the coffee maker plugged into it. Finding a place to plug in a laptop or phone charger was quite challenging and possibly dangerous given the load on that one outlet (which was likely duplicated in the other rooms too).

But....the kitchen in our unit was impossibly small. We thought that was how they all were, until we saw others and discovered that it was only this one particular unit (Lakawanna 1B). No exaggeration, there was not more than 1 person able to be in the entire kitchen at the same time. The second we put 2 people in there to expedite breakfast, we accidentally broke a glass. And of course, felt awful about it! There is a nice area between the cabins for playing horseshoes or other outdoor games, but the weeds are so high that it makes for a challenging game when people are not wearing long pants, as the children in our group did not like to. Also, we discovered that other cabins had very nice back decks with tables to encourage eating outdoors. Ours had a large front deck, with just some dusty plastic chairs. Positives were the amazing view, the ability to get our large group all lodged nearby one another, the comfortable beds, large bathrooms, and the fact that we did not have to put a hefty deposit down. Overall, this resort is fine and I would stay there again - but I would be certain to select one of the other cabins that would allow more space for cooking and family time.

Never have Yelp reviews been so wrong!…read more I love this place so much that I almost don't want to review it. I don't want to spoil a good thing. This is the EXACT type of place I look to stay (but rarely find) on an outdoors-focused vacation: - Minimalist: I don't need anything fancy, just a bed and AC/Heat - CHEAP: no more than $100 is my goal...this place was only $50, that's FIFTY DOLLARS a night! - Walkability: there is a brewery literally 100ft from this motel! - No fuss: you get a code via email (through Air BnB) and you just walk in. There's no counter, there's not people telling you about some crappy free breakfast, no people drawing on hotel maps, no running out to get your license plate number. You just arrive, type in your code, and you're in your room! The room was tiny but efficient, exactly what we were looking for. It was appropriated with beautiful mountain art, and lots of goodies: soft drinks, waters, seltzers, coffee...all free! Seriously, the fridge is stocked like a fancy hotel that charges you $4 if you dare touch the bottled water but...it's all free here! I already can't wait to go back. Somehow, I doubt it will still be $50/night. Great for the thoughtful new business owners (the negative reviews here are old, and when this place was under different management), a little sad for me. I will still happily pay though. We need more places like this to stay in America!

We stayed here for the weekend of the Leadville 100 mountain bike race. The only good thing I have to say for this place is that the room was clean when we walked in. Other than that, it was not pleasant. First, there was NEVER an attendant in the office; instead you had to call from a phone outside the office door (because there was no phones in the room). A woman would answer who spoke poor English, but she did get my requests right, though I had to wait for her to respond. The room was very dark, with only an overhead light (no lamps). The furniture looked like it had just been bought from a Goodwill auction. It didn't match and was in pretty poor shape (i.e. falling apart). The bed was hard and the pillows dead flat. Also, the shower barely worked and it was very hard to get it to provide hot water. On top of this place being a horrible, they charged over $100 a night, which is outrageous. I'm sure the rates were jacked up for an event weekend. During a normal visit, I wouldn't spend $20 a night for this room. In the end, at all cost, DO NOT stay here. Do your homework and find any other place in town. This place is a DUMP.
