We were first attracted to the glazed pots outside because they had such a nice collection of colors. Then we walked into the greenhouse and were greeted with the heavenly fragrance of petunias from the many hanging baskets above the rows of plants. It's one of those nurseries where you can find just about any kind of plant you've been looking for. All of the plants are beautiful specimens in tip-top condition. The greenhouse adjoins another greenhouse that is decked out with very luxurious patio furniture and decor and is followed by more rows of plants to the right and the main store entrance to the left. It's absolutely gorgeous in there! We sort of explored this business in a round about way, but eventually made it to the front section of the store which is a large room nicely decorated with antiques, collectibles, and melamine dishes... all for sale! This place is pricey, I would say twice the price of what you'd pay for a comparable product elsewhere, but it was such an unexpected gem we ran across while cruising the countryside that I think it's something everyone should explore when in the area. We were interested in comparing GE Profile and Monogram, Kitchenaid and a few whirlpool products. I called several showrooms and box appliance stores (Lowes, Sears, Best Buy etc) in the area to see what was on their showroom floor. Long story short we ended up going to Fergusons. When I called the Fergusons store the receptionist on the other end transferred me quickly to someone who knew exactly what products they carried and what products were on displace. This was very helpful. Several of the other stores I called put me on hold 5+ minutes and then they didn't even know what products they had on display. Once we got to the Fergusons store we were introduced to Blane Northcutt. He was outstanding. We told him up front that we just wanted to look, since we lived in Atlanta we wouldn't be buying in TX, so we understood if he wanted to help someone else (since he wouldn't be making any commission off us). He politely said that there were plenty of reps in the store to help out the other folks and he would be glad to help us with our questions. He was able to advice us on different products and even had some of the model numbers memorized. He clearly had done his research and was able to discuss issues that certain products had in the past and current problems with certain appliances. He spend over an hour with us discussing products and helping up jot down model numbers etc and offered his card for us to call him with further questions. It wasn't until we left the store that we realized they were closed; we had kept him 20 minutes past closing time. We would definitely recommend Blane to anyone who is tired of researching on line and reading review after review and who wants to talk to someone who is knowledgeable. In addition, the showroom floor is well stocked.
