12/30/23 @ 1730ish All shtick. No substance. Wish we could've ordered something but after a few minutes of waiting at both ends of the bar to get the bartender's attention, we ended up leaving since, 1. she seemed more interested in telling patrons how she ended up here from SoCal via Oklahoma and, 2., helping another patron who arrived there after we did (there maybe 3 or 4 people at the bar at the time) If this is any sign of the quality, glad I didn't waste any more time or money there.

Local and only bar in Cloudcroft. It's usually packed during the weekends or whenever tourists are in town. It's covered in $1 dollar bills that guests write their names in or a bit and then staple it to the wall or ceilings. It gives the place a fun atmosphere. They do have pool tables and a dart board. They have a couple of televisions and a digital jukebox you can play music on but it's usually at a low volume and you can't really hear the music. Aside from alcohol they also serve food. It is quite delicious! Their Phillycheese steak is delicious, so are their breaded mushrooms. They have Taco Tuesday and although they are advertised as $1.50 per taco, they do add some fees at the end so you're not really saving any money. Kids are allowed during the day. Pets are allowed even though many times the owners are irresponsible with them. My family and I once had to sit next to dog poop while we tried to eat our dinner. The dog owner eventually picked it up, like 15 minutes later. The place reeked. I'm a firm believer that pets should stay at home if they are not a service animal.

Had an awesome night at Western Bar and Cafe! The staff is super fun and clearly have a great rapport with the regulars--which made the whole place feel welcoming and lively. Came in for drinks and ended up having a blast with some of the regulars. Great atmosphere, fun vibe. Definitely planning to come back with my partner!

Wow! Nice bar, also seating area. The decor is hundreds of dollar bills all over. Cold beer, very friendly patrons, and really yummy 1.50 tacos on Taco Tuesday. Very cool.

A hidden gem of a bar! Food is alright but ultimately you're there for the atmosphere. Not many places let you use a staple gun after consuming alcohol but this place does! Theres free pool in the back and they make a good cocktail. We were on vacation and clearly not from New Mexico but everyone was super friendly to us and welcomed us in.

We didn't eat..... But we Drank!!!!! Judy was here on Sunday and she was amazing! Sweetest lady. Get you a drink or 5 and bring a dollar with you. This is a great spot and the only bar around. The ambiance is exactly what you want with a dive and I would go here anytime!

Yum! We just had lunch here after a long hike in White Sands Nat Park (30 min away). The burgers were big and flavorful. And the sides were very generous (we had tater tots, sweet potato fries, and regular fries.) They gave me a mountain of tater tots! My bacon cheeseburger was exactly what I was expecting. The wait staff were friendly, informative and attentive. When the music came on, it was a little too loud because the speaker was right above our table, but the bartender very kindly turned it down as soon as we asked. Atmosphere is typical mountain town bar & grill: low ceilings, neon beer signs, and dollars stapled to the walls and ceilings. Why not 5 stars? Too dark to tell how clean it was and the iced tea was too light.

Be ready, guys. This is a no frills, down home place. But that's why we love it! The food is great! There is no question about it. And there is something about getting a hot toddy or a great hot cocoa in a mountain town that is just magical! But back to the food. The burgers are my favorite and they don't blink if you get it sans bun to make it Keto friendly! They have decent Mexican food too! The husband liked the tostadas but loved the chile con queso! The bar is the only nightlife in town and they even have pool tables. However, they do close early yet later than everyone else in town! The waitstaff is very friendly and will take great care of you so take care of them! Remember - this is a SMALL town and you will see them around!

Great food, great service and just a lot of fun people doing karaoke in the back room. We came on a busy night and we had to wait for 20-30 minutes. During that time I hung up by the fire outside and met some great people. Seems like people come back here every year, cloudcroft is a destination where families meet up during the holidays. Not a great place if you're planning on having a couple beers and driving back to town, it's on a twisted mountain road. We showed up early so we could play games in their brewery area as we wait but they told us we couldn't do that because we had a newborn. (Kinda dumb in my opinion, the kids had to wait outside in the cold, but I get the law). We were already on the waiting list for a table so we didn't have to wait that much longer. Our waitress was kind & fast. We ordered 4 pizzas and I tried two of them. I don't really recommend the pizza; the Greek one tasted odd, had too much pesto, and the Margarita one had way too much cheese & burnt the basil. But my family liked the other two, the Corey & the sweet & salty pizza. My sister who lives in New Mexico made it seem like this was the hopping place to be, which explained why it was so busy for a small town. We brought some games to play but since we were taking up a table for others we didn't play very long. Just enough to finish the pizza. My sister definitely recommends this place!

Since it was 4th of July and we were waiting for the fireworks we had a lot of time to hang out. The wait here is always extremely long so we got on the list. The wings were crispy and fresh and the sauce was very good; peach habanero. The carnitas fries were loaded and the meat was tender. The jalapeño was quite spicy. Our drinks were good, very strong but good. I can recommend this place as long as you are patient and okay with a wait to sit, so if you're not in a hurry and are staying for a while at the Inn.

The service was ok- our server took our order quickly, was ok on the refills and ok on checking in on us. Could've been better, but maybe we just came in too late on a Sunday. We sat by the bar, which had TVs playing an NFL game. Lots of family eating there, but it wasn't an issue since the entire casino is loud.

Called inquiring about reservations, told it's first come first serve and I should expect about a 15-20 min wait. Showed up, 3 adults w/ 3 kids at 5:30. Was told I was the 2nd name behind an 11 top, and should be able to be seated in 5 min due to a few tables just waiting to be cleared upstairs. 20 mins later I watched them clear a 6 top at the front door downstairs, then split it so they could seat two tables of 4 who had shown up after my family. After waiting another 10 min I asked about how long we were looking at, the woman at the door told me she would go upstairs and check on the table, she returned to inform me that I was now looking at probably 20 min before we could be seated. We left... I don't know if the elderly woman working as a hostess at the door is an owner, a wife, family friend, or simply a pity hire due to her old age, but she has no business working customer service at a restaurant. She lied to me and several other groups about wait times, and seating availability only to double down several times about how soon we will be seated. She obviously has zero idea about how food service works, customer service relations, or kitchen service/food service times. Side note: an obviously drunk group of six made their way in during my wait, the bartender had no issue serving them, fingers crossed they weren't driving home, but I doubt anyone is that lucky.

Only problem was that good time starts at 5pm, and only on certain days of the week. Middle of the desert, at the cross of nowhere and won't find your body for years, is this epic drinkery. Decked out with dollar bills lining the ceiling and occupied by some of the nicest locals we met on our trip. If you're in the area (which is impossible) or needing a great place to hang out on a weekend night, this is it. Of course it's the only option for many miles, but we were not disappointed. According to the owners, they have some great local talent that plays on certain evenings. They have an awesome little venue that looks like a blast when they have a band.
