The cabin is private and quiet with an absolutely beautiful view of the lake, and comes with a private outhouse, very nice fire pit and chairs, parking close by, and storage shed with provided firewood and equipment for tennis, pickleball, and frisbee golf. The park is also within an hour of Clayton, Sackets Harbor, and Alex Bay. NOTE: there are no showers on site, we had to go about 20 minutes away to a nearby state park to use their shower facilities. We had an incredible week and would absolutely return here in the future to rent the cabin. We highly recommend it to anyone looking for a comfortable, private camping experience!

Staff are all very friendly and helpful. This is a perfect location for camping or simply a nice relaxing day with family and friends. They offer small grills, tables and covered pavilions. If you're not much for grilling and rather have a quick hot bite to eat they offer a few items in their café as well. Southwick will always be top of my list when it comes to beach days in our area.

I thought...well...I can use the outdoor rinse station so I walked over and...no water! How can such a nice looking facility not have running water?!?! I get frustrated by what I consider to be dumb things like this. I think a big part of the irritation (other than the sand I couldn't rinse off my feet) was how new everything looks, but still didn't have working showers. I might come back, but the lack of showers at a state park beach I found to be enough of an irritation to five this 3 start review. Lake - wonderful Views - amazing Facilities - attractive and new looking Working showers - a complete bomb If you don't care of you have a place to rinse off after spending the day in the sand - don't hesitate for a moment. They have a nice sized playground right in front of the water/beach spot. Also, it was situated between two bathroom building! They have standing showers in stalls and also large bathrooms with a standing shower as well- which is very nice for people who need to go in with children or disabled people. They had bundles of wood on-site ($5) and ice ($2). Also, there is a little mart across the street from the state park that has little trinkets, supplies and ICE CREAM if maybe you forgot something for fire or food. ***IMPORTANT!! You are so close to Canada here PLEASE pay attention to your photo data if you're using it. We were able to pick up the Canadian lines and it sent the phone roaming for a little bit.*** It was very well kept! Each "camp" has a large enough tent site for 2 large tents, or more we had two, and then a fire pit with a mini grill over it and a picnic table. All it was missing was trash reciprocals but really what's on you and it was great. You can play volleyball usually but do to covid it's closed and so are boat rentals (typically $300). You can fish also and they have a bait shop. Highly highly recommend coming here! I don't know if it's typical but $22/night for the site is awesome.

There were a lot of highlights- the big bridge, climbing the boulders to the scenic overlook of a huge marsh where we saw an enormous heron and lots of wild life- we saw porcupine, chipmunks, bunnies, and some cool birds, The trails were pretty easy, my three year old handled them well. There's even an ADA trail, making this an inclusive outdoor activity. This will remain a tradition when we go back to Thousand Islands!

The site I was moved to had not been prepped and there is moss on the pad. I called and spoke with 4 different people and no one showed. The landscaping/maintenance people drive by several times each day. I finally decided to 'live' with it but it wasn't right. I haven't seen another site in this condition in the entire park. Everything else was fine.

The beach area is enclosed into a square, guarded by at least three lifeguards. There are plenty of parking spaces, a food concession and restrooms in the main building and plenty of restrooms and showers behind this front building. The weather cooperated and it was perfect. ​

As we visited on a holiday it was very busy, but we arrived early and had no trouble finding parking. The park had staff on hand to direct traffic and assist in finding a spot.
