The cabin is private and quiet with an absolutely beautiful view of the lake, and comes with a private outhouse, very nice fire pit and chairs, parking close by, and storage shed with provided firewood and equipment for tennis, pickleball, and frisbee golf. The park is also within an hour of Clayton, Sackets Harbor, and Alex Bay. NOTE: there are no showers on site, we had to go about 20 minutes away to a nearby state park to use their shower facilities. We had an incredible week and would absolutely return here in the future to rent the cabin. We highly recommend it to anyone looking for a comfortable, private camping experience!

The beach area is enclosed into a square, guarded by at least three lifeguards. There are plenty of parking spaces, a food concession and restrooms in the main building and plenty of restrooms and showers behind this front building. The weather cooperated and it was perfect. ​

We had such a large area of the beach all to ourselves. We were there for a few hours, and probably could have stayed longer. My partner said it was the most Caribbean looking beach he's ever been to not actually in the Caribbean. Things to note: Conditions might be quite different on different days. Apparently, the 1.3 trail to the beach can be wet and buggy (not when we were there!) and the water can have more algae (though it was stunningly clear during our visit). $15/person fee, with discounts for families.

BLACK RIVER TRAIL IS A GREAT PATH TO WALK, RUN OR BIKE…read more=================================================== At the beginning of April 2024 my son and daughter-in-law took my husband and I hiking along this trail a couple times on different days. It's really a nice paved and scenic path along the Black River. If you look at the website it says it is 4.5 miles, but I have a feeling it is much longer. The Black River is pretty long, so it might turn into dirt trails. You can actually walk close to the Black River, but I wouldn't recommend getting in because you might drown or get swept away to who knows where. I read a report recently about someone falling in. Parking: I'm pretty sure we parked at the Trailhead located at E. Rutland Street near Stone Drive. See photo. See the website for more parking locations. Our camping trip was horrible, the neighbors were terrible banging at 6 o'clock in the morning for…read morenothing, the site was a mud hole, bathrooms were disguising and unusable, no cell phone, campers left there dogs in their camper to bark for the day so they can go play, the water spikets to get water a camper had hoses hooked to it, we left 2 1/2 half days earlier and loss money. What a huge disappointment that was.
