Had an amazing time camping here. Lots of space on camp sites, each with a table and fire pit. Tons of water around, with beautiful sites. Kayaking was easy, launching straight from our sight and exploring the islands around us. Easy access to electricity, potable water and bathrooms. Would recommend to anyone who enjoys the outdoors. read more

Five star for water views at every camp site. If that's what you're coming to the river for you will get it here. Amenities are basic/equivalent to other NY state parks I've been. But if you're looking to kayak or have a campfire overlooking the water this is a great place to be. Small cup store that serves ice cream is walkable from campgrounds, which is also a nice bonus! read more

THIS PLACE IS HORRIBLE THIS PLACE IS DISGUSTING THIS PLACE IS..... Sorry i am lying so there will be more spaces available for me,just being really selfish. This place is one of the best parks out there.The second we are packing up we are already looking forward to our next trip.One issue you have to think about is the uneven rocky base that you have to bring cot pads,air mattress or cots to be comfortable.......And perrys ice cream,best ever.There is a little ice cream shack outside of clayton called the castle,....BEST ICE CREAM EVER!!! read more

Visit this park by boat or car when we have guests with children. The beach and walking trail are perfect for kids. Have to shout out to the rangers too at the gate. Friendly and helpful. read more

This park is BEAUTIFUL. Unfortunately, I personally couldn't really find any trails to hike on but it's a great place to unwind and relax. Will definitely be kayaking very soon read more

Super affordable and all-age friendly NYS park to camp in. We come to Kring Point once a year and the improvements keep a'coming. The have staff working around the clock picking up trash and keeping the bathrooms clean. They have added more all-in-one restrooms (sink, shelf, toilet, shower, handicap compliant). However, I believe that not all have changing tables, but they do offer significant bank space. There is now a laundry center available. I can't tell you how important this is for emergencies of the mud, sand or accidents variety! They have a man-made beach with life guards on duty and a small cliff to fish from...orr swan dive in. A playground can be found in the middle of the park with the standard slides and swings. There is also a convenience store right outside the park for re-stocking ice and fire wood, though someone normally drives around selling wood hours leading to sundown. My only complaint is the 2 tent limit per site regardless of the size. This can be very irritating when you are in a group of 4 and 2 of us have single person tents. There is a reason for single person tent...I don't want to hear you snore...or see your bitty parts! But two 8 person tents are ok? Not all friends are cool with each other to share the expense of a tent that size. Anyhoot, I'm looking forward to my trip next year! read more

We stayed at the camp ground over Labor Day weekend. Site 11 was HUGE but there was alot of exposed bedrock and the 1 place we found to pitch the tent, sloped downward so it was a little weird sleeping. The river is nice, awesome stargazing at night because there isn't alot of light pollution in the area. our site was a little dirty, previous campers left their trash behind, and I guess the rangers there don't have a cleaning crew to give the sites a quick once over in between visitors. Unfortunately, we didn't see much of the park besides our camp ground because we were in town so much but I'd like to get another chance to see what else the park has to offer. The bathrooms were clean and the showers were nice too, always a plus. It was about a 10 minute drive from Alexandria Bay which has nice stuff to see and do. We would definately visit again. read more

My favorite place to camp in New York State when I need to connect with nature & disconnect from life's distractions. The St. Lawrence is chilly (65-70 degrees in July) but after hot, muggy days hiking, fishing or boating, it will cool you to the core. So many places to swim in the shallow coves, some rocky and some sandy (always wear swim shoes & bring floaties). Campsites have a fire pit & picnic table. There is garbage pick up throughout the day (critters are pretty bold here, so keep your site neat or burn food trash). There's a little camp store just off premises with basics (and good ice cream). Potable water is available at a few pumps on site. Clean restrooms & showers too (though there is often a short wait at certain times of the day) and a small laundry facility (bring quarters & detergent). We tent, but you can rent cabins right on Goose Bay. Some sites are right on the water, some more centralized. My suggestion is that whichever you choose, go for "trees." Temperatures fluctuate and afternoons can get very hot. You are pretty much guaranteed rain or thunderstorm at least once during a week's stay, sometimes fleeting, sometimes drenching. Be prepared with appropriate clothing, a deck of cards and snacks for those days - or go into Alex Bay to shop or play. But don't let weather keep you from experiencing Kring. I gave it 4 stars instead of 5 just because when we arrived, another camper had set up an extra large tent that occupied a significant portion of our site. It was a bit of a hassle to resolve the issue since Kring gave the ok to this camper to set up without our knowledge. But it was resolved and did not impact our trip after our initial check in. I also think there should be more water pumps. The one near our site has been out of order for the past 2 years. But water is available elsewhere on the premises, not more than a short walk away. This will not deter us from planning our next Kring trip, maybe 2 weeks this time read more

Wow. Almost eleven years to the day after my first review of Kring Point. We still camp here every year and just got back from our latest long weekend here. I utterly love this place. I feel such a kinship with it, it basically feels like my second home. It's hard for me to even write an objective review. Views are spectacular. I can drop my kayak or swim right from our site. The new bathrooms are perfect. In the morning you can pick up a coffee and newspaper at the little general store. In the evening you can watch the sun set over the Canadian border. The vacationers at the neighboring mobile home park are super friendly. And the addition of the laundry room means there is nothing stopping me from living here all summer. Wish I could tell you my site number, but sorry, it's already too difficult to reserve! read more

Great park, amenities are great. Only problem we have here is that they clearly don't mow the campsites. Sitting here currently, Saturday morning, 8:30 am and a man on a mower goes by with earmuffs on so is going to start mowing now? No one wants to listen to a mower. This should have been done during the week when no one was here. Unfortunately it has been really wet and maybe they couldn't mow thoroughly but I have heard other people complain about the same thing from previous years so this is obviously just a problem here. Otherwise, it's a great park and we love it here on the river. read more

we have camped at many beautiful parks in new york but this is my favorite. Many of the sites are on the water and there are panoramic views everywhere. You can sit on your own private beach and watch the ships pass. read more

First time visiting the park and camping. Spent the weekend at a very large waterfront site on the Goose Bay side. Park is beautiful and well maintained and great water views from anywhere in the camping area. Hot showers were nice in the morning after a early AM swim in the bay. read more

Nice place. Friendly Staff. well kept grounds. "Out there" but only 15 min from groceries,gas etc. Most sites are grassy but level ground can be limited . You can see the St. laurent from most campsights ( Kind of cool to wach the big freightors go buy from tiem to time. Area is very scenic. Water is clear and deep and provides some very decent fishing (which is why I was there.) We stayed in one of their cabins. Real basic and real rustic. ( Bunk, table, fridge and microwave.) Cabins are waterfront and capable of allowing boat moorings rigth out back. Lastly, the ramp and (free-first come/first serve) docks saved us allot of time . We launched once and left the boat in all week. read more

We stayed for four nights on a river side site (73) at the end of August. We had an amazing view of the river from our site, particularly at sunset. Large ships sailed by periodically and left an impressive wake that hit the shore about five minutes after they passed. Site 73 is considered waterfront / partial shade and was a mix of slab rock and grass. If you choose to camp at this site, be prepared for a very warm tent upon waking and cool, damp evenings by the campfire. We enjoyed nice weather during our stay and our site provided a beautiful view of the night sky. It would offer a great opportunity for anyone with a telescope! The park staff was very helpful with directions and suggestions for local attractions; there is a great drive-in theatre about 15 minutes away. However, one night as we returned from the drive-in at around 1:30AM, we stopped to use the restroom, only to find two park rangers coming out of the ladies room. It is noteworthy that these Night Rangers were not, in fact, ladies. We decided to head to the next restroom. Aside from the Night Rangers, the only downside was the shower situation. The primary restroom/shower building near the entrance was large and clean, the others were less appealing. The showers have an infuriating button that you have to push every 15 seconds, but the temperature and pressure were good. Overall, we enjoyed our stay very much and would come back again. read more
