The site I was moved to had not been prepped and there is moss on the pad. I called and spoke with 4 different people and no one showed. The landscaping/maintenance people drive by several times each day. I finally decided to 'live' with it but it wasn't right. I haven't seen another site in this condition in the entire park. Everything else was fine.

Each sight is equipped with a fire pit and picnic table. They have what I have to consider, the cleanest shower equipped, public camp ground bathroom! They have a pool that opens the second week of June and plenty of off camp sight parking. While I would have generally reserved this type of place as a 3 star review, here's what makes it a 4. The staff, we all know how some public employees can be..... these guys broke the mold! The park manager escorted us to our sight and gave us a quick rundown!!! The night(watchman?) stopped by and advised us on the 8am and 8pm trash pickups and where the local convenience stores were. On a side note he stopped every night to see if we needed anything! I cannot say enough great things about Otter Creek Preserve. The clean and well maintained trails…read morewere so fun for our entire family. We made an afternoon of exploring. There were a lot of highlights- the big bridge, climbing the boulders to the scenic overlook of a huge marsh where we saw an enormous heron and lots of wild life- we saw porcupine, chipmunks, bunnies, and some cool birds, The trails were pretty easy, my three year old handled them well. There's even an ADA trail, making this an inclusive outdoor activity. This will remain a tradition when we go back to Thousand Islands!

But, make sure you ask for the most updated cabin. It does cost a bit more but it is worth it. Some of the other cabins were very outdated but still clean nonetheless. Our cabin had everything we needed and a few extra amenities that I wasn't expecting but was glad to find at the ready (dishes, mugs, coffee maker, silverware, bottle opener, etc.) The facility is great - gorgeous location. The owners are always on-site cleaning up and making sure all is well. They went above and beyond to make sure we had a great time. The ONLY reason I am not giving 5 stars is the lack of updates in the other cabins. It is decent distance to major stores so be sure to bring what you need. My son had his foot cut on a zebra mussel in the Bay but he was not wearing water shoes - please be sure you do! The bugs are no joke but you ARE on the bay. Bring spray and lots of it. And, still be prepared to get a million bites. Par for the course. Come prepared to relax.

The website is not well done and very misleading. Difficult to make an informed division on cabin choice. The cabin we reserved a year ago did not even have enough enough room around it to set a lawn chair out. The waterfront is dock only and full of mud/slime and weeds. The dogs jumped in and got covered in muck before we could even unpack. We had to get in the muck with them just to pull them out. THIS IS NOT PET FRIENDLY! So after a booking a year in advance with high hopes of a fun week with the dogs, we ended up leaving after an hour and driving another 4.5 hours home. $275 deposit gone, wasted full day driving and vacation ruined because of lack of credible information. We did have an electric hookup, the ones across the street right on the water don't have electric. The spot had absolutely no shade and was roasting all day. There was also snakes. We definitely preferred C Loop. Beach was great, the playground was great! Camp store was staffed well, and open convenient hours! We loved that they had soft serve ice cream as well!
