There were a lot of highlights- the big bridge, climbing the boulders to the scenic overlook of a huge marsh where we saw an enormous heron and lots of wild life- we saw porcupine, chipmunks, bunnies, and some cool birds, The trails were pretty easy, my three year old handled them well. There's even an ADA trail, making this an inclusive outdoor activity. This will remain a tradition when we go back to Thousand Islands!

I found Cross Island Farms on the internet and we decided to check it out. The farm was not what I expected but it turned out to be a pleasant experience. When we drove up to the front of the house (yes, house) we were greeted by two friendly dogs. As we are all dog lovers, we made friends with them right away. We went inside and saw a table full of fresh fruit and vegetables and more in a refrigerated case. Someone (one of the owners?) came to help us. She helped us choose what we needed and told us about the selection of meats. We then also bought a thick sirloin steak that we ate that night. It was yummy. She also told us about the fruit picking. We went back the following morning to do that and got some more freshly picked fruit. Wow, those strawberries were very tasty. Can't get them in Westchester County. (We live in Peekskil, NY and Denver. No one is from San Francisco. Where did that come from?) As for the animals, I think you have to take the full tour to see them all. But we did see a few pigs and goats. I wanted to pet them all as they seemed friendly but they were behind a fence. Oh well. Overall, a very satisfying experience. Just don't expect anything fancy.

Super close to the bathrooms, electric hookup, and lots of shade! Only issue was the raccoons! Our site had a trap and our kids got to see 4 raccoons over our time in C Loop! The second half of the week we were in B loop, site 29. We did have a water view, although across the road. We did have an electric hookup, the ones across the street right on the water don't have electric. The spot had absolutely no shade and was roasting all day. There was also snakes. We definitely preferred C Loop. Beach was great, the playground was great! Camp store was staffed well, and open convenient hours! We loved that they had soft serve ice cream as well! When you leave their dock its only minutes to go to the Boldt Castle, docking there is free and simple. Its about 30 min by pontoon to get to the Singer Castle also free docking and easy. Be sure to rent an extra day if you want to stay out past 5PM! It's easy to lose track of time on the water when there is so much to do! There is a gas dock not far at a state park that was easy to dock. So all of that to tell you that renting from this location is just perfect!

I can't even begin to count. "Aqua Mania", hands down was absolutely one of the best places we have ever rented a pontoon boat from. Everyone I spoke to was very knowledgeable and friendly. Their pontoon boats seemed like they were brand new and really in great working order. Our boat would fit 12 people ( but who wants that) They took the time out to make sure we were completely comfortable on the boat, plus gave us some great tips about where we could go on the river for what we wanted to do. We wanted to do some fishing, swimming plus site see. Nothing is better than being able to control what you want to do on the river for the day. We had a fantastic time!

Killed some time here while in town over the weekend as we were intrigued by it being the longest…read morego kart track in NYS. It was a bit pricey, $20 per person for 3 laps or $25 per person for 3 laps if you bundle it with 18 holes of mini golf. Each lap is one mile. The go karts are fun, but I found it annoying that they have each kart fully stop at the beginning of the track after each track for a staff to remove one of your tickets. That is how they keep track of the laps instead of just watching and counting. It made it harder to stay with friends on the track. We did bundle it with mini golf even though we didnt complete all 18 holes. We stopped at 9 due to time and all the holes were pretty much the same each time. It would have been more interesting if there was some variety.
