They were able to level it out and significantly improve the drainage by adding bigger drains that exited to the side of the deck. Unfortunately, they accidentally cut through the cable line for the back unit when they cut the holes for the new drains but it was quickly repaired and they offered to pay for the repair which we appreciated. I worked with Jose from Westcoast to rip up some 40-year-old Spanish tile on a terrace area of my home and replace it with a modern deck. I contacted Jose after researching West coast on yelp and other sources. Jose came to my house and we discussed options to repair the leaking balcony floor which sat above the garage. He suggested a complete rebuild of the balcony floor and explained the process used. We agreed on the process, worked out the cost, and set a start date. This was in late 2020. Project started a couple of weeks later. After demolition of old floor he noticed a few areas that needed replacing or reinforcing. After these modifications were made, the crew began the process of installing the new floor and in less than two weeks I was looking at a new beautiful new balcony floor. Jose also arranged to have the old iron railing replaced with a new railing finished with white powdercoating. This job was subbed out to another company who custom made the railing and installed it. Unfortunately, after a few months I noticed small spots of rust appearing. I called Jose to see what could be done and he came out to see for himself. He contacted the owner who said the railing was powdercoated by another party. Anyway, because of Jose's persistence everything came together and the newly powdercoated railing is being installed as I am writing this review. I cannot express how much I appreciate the caring and professionalism that Jose showed during this experience. Would I recommend, or hire Jose for another project? Hell, yes. read more

We had a balcony which was badly in need of repair for a while. Deck contractors are not as common as your typical home improvement project. After having a couple of people giving us estimates, we went with Westcoast Waterproofing Systems. Jose came out and gave us an estimate, actually more than one, depending on the scope and extent of the repair. The contract was very thorough and professional and covered both us, the homeowner and them from a legal standpoint. We chose one. They took about a week to do the job. Jose's crew came on time every day and were very professional and thorough. Each day they cleaned up. Our balcony look better than new and glad we chose Westcoast. After a month we wanted a small modification done to the balcony, mainly for estactic reason. Jose came back and did what we wanted at no extra cost. I am very satisfied with the work done by Westcoast Waterproofing. I had two small deck and Jose's original proposal was to repair one and replace the second. When his crew got into the second deck they found complete replacement was not necessary and it only required a repair and the project cost was adjusted accordingly. A leak was found during the water test of one of the decks. It was found that the leak was not part of the deck repair but associated metal flashing. Jose had his crew repair the leak and re-water test at no extra charge. I would highly recommend Westcoast Waterproofing. The work is excellent and pricing competitive. read more
