I was anxious to get my rug quickly and they were able to deliver within the week at a convenient time after work hours. My client and I purchased 1000 sq ft of Evoke laminate flooring at the Jordan's Flooring Outlet…read morelocated in Richmond, BC, under the personal verbal assurance from the sales supervisor Ron that any unopened flooring could be returned for full refund within 30 days of picking up the order. When we returned to make a return on the excess flooring material, Ron denied making such remarks and claimed that we lied in order to make a return. We found this accusation to be offensive and insulting. After a series of reasoning, he agreed to accept the return but asked for a 25% restocking fee which was never mentioned nor written. Even after the return had be made, he continued to question my client's honesty and claimed that she over ordered to receive "special pricing" on orders over 1000 sq ft. It is worth mentioning that prior to purchasing the flooring, we brought in the floor plan layout of the unit and were advised by Ron to order 1035 sq ft of material. So that claim by him was false and insulting. Upon leaving the store, Ron was still making remarks that we lied and even said, and quote "maybe I will reverse the refund". I believe that is illegal and my client will be checking her Visa statement to see if he indeed do so. This has been one of, if not the worst experience we've had at any stores and the supervisor's behaviour and mannerism is completely unacceptable. We will not return to this store in the future.

I was particularly happy that I didn't have to hire a seperate worker to remove doors and baseboards in preperation. The layer there handled that, as part of the regular installation. They also had to upholster carpet onto an opening bench window seat. That takes more skill and they pulled it off, no problem. Good inventory there too. I stick to the Nylon choices for cut pile carpets, so the fibers are less prone to matting down in the traffic areas.

Transition pieces were not properly glued down, baseboard nails were not set flush, and the caulking was poorly done--problems that are still visible today. I lived with these issues for years because fixing them once was not enough and I did not want to deal with the issue again. The manager at the time did offer me a partial refund so I didn't ask for a 2nd fix. In hindsight I should have. Recently, I re-engaged Jordans because I need to redo my flooring. Engaging with the current store manager I was told in person that we would be "taken care of" and "hooked up" because of the 2017 experience. What followed was a 10¢/sqft price reduction (about $55 total). When I raised this marginal discount, the alternative offered was removing recommended services of leveling and voiding warranty. This process wasted significant time and did not rebuild confidence with Jordan's. We chose another contractor.
