Pretty much…read moreevery indoor roller rink in the city closed during the pandemic (except the outdoor rink at Brooklyn Bridge Park), so when this place opened people absolutely lost their minds. Walking in feels like stepping straight back into childhood in the best way possible. Neon lights, funky carpet, bright colors, all the nostalgic roller rink vibes you could want. One thing I really love is that unlike most rinks that only do one adults-only night a week, Xanadu switches to 21+ after 8 PM almost every night. It ends up feeling way more like a nightclub than a traditional roller rink, and you don't have to worry about drinking around kids or dodging little ones flying across the floor. They've also got a concession stand with Frito pies, four different kinds of hot dogs, and plenty of snacks if you need a break. Definitely check the website before you go because this isn't the kind of roller rink where you just show up and pay seven bucks to skate. They host different events almost every night, and each one has its own cover charge. It's usually somewhere between $11 and $25, and can go up to around $33 if there's a musical guest, but honestly it's always felt worth it to me. I've caught some great local performers there along with iconic '90s dance acts like Ultra Naté. Lockers are $5 and you'll need a credit card to use them. I 100% recommend this place whether you're looking for a fun night out, trying to pick up a new hobby, or just want to do something different with friends. I swear once you go and see everyone doing tricks, showing off, and having the best time, you're going to want to come back and learn a few moves yourself. It's great solo, great with friends, and skating is definitely a workout, so be prepared to sweat. Dress cute, but keep it breezy.

Fantastic throwback spot in a super cool section of Bushwick!…read more They put on concerts with their super loud & tight sound system, which also has a cool video wall behind the large stage. For skating, they have a large, oval wooden roller rink floor, just they had in the 70's & 80's all around NYC and the boroughs. Killer DJ's & awesome song selections keep the energy going for both concerts & skating. This is a truly unique spot that's perfect for young kids & everyone else up to their 60's or so. (I'd cut it off after that as it's loud & most Seniors wouldn't like the volume & probably shouldn't be roller skating, unless they really know what they're doing). Love that this place exists - it's MAGICAL!!!

Great Place for Family & Dates : )--DRESS WARM, BRING GLOVES…read more BRING GLOVES, DO NOT WEAR JEANS! (Sweats), DRESS WARM I am the romantic type of person and whenever I see a potential for a nice romantic date I write about it!! I recently came here with my girlfriends family and her of course, there's a schedule for this place when you can skate and when you can't so whenever you get a chance call and make sure you find out the times! Once you do that, make sure you bring CASH! I believe it was $7.00 to rent the skates, $4.00 to skate on the ice and I know I'm missing something but the Prices are really economic which is great! Please dress warm, this way if you're not skating you won't freeze your butt, bring a blanket! Just pretend you're going Skiing and you'll be fine! Other than that everything else is GREAT! DEERS!! By the way if you go there at night you'll see that facing the highway there's a fence if you look over it, you will always see a family (I'm pretty sure there's another name) deer, last time I saw like 20 of them and they just ran into the woods! Which was amazing I felt like I was watching the national geographic channel lol (I love nature) Anyways if you do come here, you'll have a great time. FOOD COURT--looks great, the only thing I can remember was Cheese Fries $4.00 I was going to get something but I'm watching my figure lol (next time)

Fun times! This…read moreskating rink sits on the 4th floor of the Palisades Mall. Many people don't even know it's there. There are public skate times you can find on their website. You'll otherwise see the Palisades Skating School in action here a couple days per week, hockey games, freestyle private lessons and people of all levels practicing. You can rent skates or bring your own. Prices are average - skate rental is free in January usually for national shate month. They have lockers to store stuff, but it's generally safe here to leave your items on the bleachers while skating. I've spent a looot of time sitting on those bleachers. There are some arcade games as well, bathrooms in the rear. Bring some friends and have fun. Oh, they also allow you to host birthday parties.

However, I was just coming for the ice skating so, I parked by Macys and rode up 2 flights to enter the rink. Skating fee and rental for skates seemed comparable to other areas I've been to. It was a little hectic, picking up the skates as you had to wait for the group prior to return them. Once we got our skates on in the rink opened, it was easy peasy. There was music in the background, which really amped up the vibe and make for extra jamming. There are bathrooms inside and right outside the rink for ease. A couple of downsides I found are- I was a little grossed out that they don't spray down the rental skates with any kind of disinfectant spray as I've seen done at other places after being returned and also I didn't feel like the staff on the rink was very attentive. There were some boys being quite disruptive and I noticed several beginners fall as these boys were speeding past them and almost on top of them. Also, there isn't any type of concession stand, but really not a problem being that you are in a mall and can always grab food anywhere.

The stands are a bit rickety, especially up top and the view isn't great either with all the netting but it's ok. As rinks go it's pretty good. My only complaint is the lack of WiFi for Internet access. Given the poor cellular reception (at least for Verizon) inside and outside this area, it would be nice to at least have some form of connectivity.

She was fitted for a size 1 ice skate and I was hesitant because I had just sized up her sneakers to 2s. I was assured there was plenty of room and deferred to them on it. Of course a month later she was complaining about them being too small. We came back to Peck's and they exchanged them for 2s and only subtracted $20 from the refund for her having worn them for a month. They had some scuffs and the insoles showed her feet print but they were otherwise in pristine condition. It was a better deal than I hoped for and I sincerely appreciate the accommodation of her growing feet. It goes to show how important customer service is because we will for sure be customers for life now (she really loves skating so it seems like we will stick with it, ha see what I did there?). Thank you Peck's!
