We celebrated my son's 3rd birthday here today and what could normally be a stressful day for most parents, ended up being such a breeze!! From the start, before the big day, communication was clear and we were given exact pricing. I went in a few weeks before the big day and the manager (?) was kind enough to give me a tour and a rundown of exactly how the time would be spent. For the first half hour, the kids have free range of the jungle gym area, that reminded me of Discovery Zone from my youth. The next half hour was spent in a separate room that had trampolines, rock walls, swings, bubbles, balls...it was kid heaven. Keep in mind our group had age ranges from 1 all the way to 11, and everyone seemed entertained! During the whole time the staff was super attentive and assisted any of the kids if they needed help. The last half hour we all moved to the food area that was decorated so beautifully, where everyone enjoyed the cake and food and again, the staff was super on point and handled everything. They served the kids food, they cut and served the cake, and they cleaned up when we were done! I can't reiterate enough how efficient the 3 women were! The museum should also reconsider the amount of leaves that they have put on the floor- it is very slippery for new child walkers and older adults. Let alone a pain for the cleaning crew.... We used a Groupon and had no issues redeeming when visiting on a Friday morning. We were instructed to complete the waivers at the kiosks near the entrance. We did have to purchase the mandatory socks which was $18 for three (3) pairs. Before proceeding to the play areas, we put our things in the little cubes they have for storage...i.e. shoes, bags, etc. Keep in mind these are open cubes which anyone can access. I never felt unsafe in leaving our things there...but as always, there is a risk. It was not very crowded on a Friday morning at around 10:30am (they open at 10) so it was a pleasure navigating the space with minimal crowds. There are lots of areas to enjoy for both adults and children. The main area has trampolines as well as some interactive areas where you jump to tap buttons and two video screens where you mimic the movements on screen...both area great. There are a few obstacle courses: ninja, balance beam, and swing pit. The basketball area is also great with a cushioned surface, two hoops, and targets where you can throw balls at. There are two huge slides in the center which are fun. Finally, there a "rock climbing" area with a few different climbing options. You must have the "climb" option added to your pass in order to use it though. You will be belayed during the climb. Be mindful that the gripped socks provided do NOT offer the best grip while climbing in my opinion...climbing was much more difficult that I experience in traditional rock climbing places that provide rock climbing shoes...then again, maybe it is just me. There is a food area which sells some snacks: soft drinks, chips, candy. There are also a few tables nearby where you can eat. Overall we had a great time here...the space was very clean and well-maintained. All staff we encountered were very nice. Be sure to check ahead if visiting with toddlers as there are some restrictions on which areas they are able to visit.

My brother offered to pay an extra 30 minutes and was told "NO" rudely by the manager. Then was charged a late fee on his credit card. Of which, will be disputed as fraud. We were there an extra 10 minutes!! My brother generously tipped these rude people and one of them said it was NOT enough. It should be more. My sister in law made the dessert herself and the food was brought in my her mom. So this venue did nothing except rush the guests and made what was supposed to be a VERY HAPPY occasion for my nephew an uncomfortable one. I do not recommend and will not return. This is a great maritime center and aquarium!…read more They have a seal show centered in the seals' health care and our show had the veterinarians there doing examinations and applying eye drops. Everyone was told the animals histories and why they were still there. One of the seals is blind and they explained how it is able to still negotiate their living space. The hands touch areas are well monitored with staff and again explanations of the different species was provided! Hand wash and dry stations were all around prior to and after touching animals. The exhibits were thoughtfully planned out and large enough for multiple person viewing. I would have like more sitting areas in some of the halls for us older folks watching independent children who wanted to hang out watching the meerkats or owls or birds. The fish tank area with the sea turtles was magnificent! The jelly fish exhibit so relaxing and zen with the background music. The new puffin exhibit is a combination of live puffins and then video presentations of their living areas in Maine! For me 2 year old granddaughter to be attentive for 4 hours was spectacular- thank you!
