My new old gym! I've lost many pounds here over the decades.. I used to be a student at LMU and…read morethis was my very own gym when I was a student here. Now as a local permanent resident I found out that it's possible to get a community membership which is about a third of the price of my last gym however, this gym has better hours!!! I really love the basketball courts, as well as the pool and in general all of the natural lighting. It's such a bright and airy and gym... the opposite of depressing. You actually want to be here to work out. Why I'm giving this place five out of five is not just the customer service from the student workers who are super friendly and nice, but I really appreciate all of the adaptive equipment I can use here as a now disabled adult. I only wish I knew I could join sooner !

This gym seems to get crowded in the afternoons, but still, there is still room to obtain a good workout. The machines are actually pretty modern. It is still a rather small gym, but has all the amenities you'll need to achieve your fitness goals. It is still much better than going to a mainstream gym like 24 hr fitness after work because the rec center is exclusive to the LMU community.

EXCELLENT little park!…read more we had Sofia's birthday picnic here. had to put down a $200 check deposit to secure 2 tables and a bbq pit. front and center location was where they put us. good shaded area for this warm and sunny day. the tables were slightly on the smaller side, well, for a family of filipinos and mexicans at least. the bbq was the traditional park type. off the ground and large metal grates. the area we reserved and the area around was immaculately clean. grass was trimmed nicely as well. the slopes that are typical with my little town were negligible where our spot was. further out on the fringes, you can notice them. the park has it's own private parking lot which makes it very convenient. there is a "kiddie" pool on site that was very popular on this sunny warm day. the deep end was 3ft and the low end was 2.5ft. awesome for the little ones. well, not mine since we werent' dressed for it. overall, we're looking forward to coming back to hang out here and have another picnic. maybe not as grand of a scale as a birthday party, but, a little bbq and some sun. also, we'd love to come back and have the kids check out the pool. we should get some use out of our $10 recreation card!

It does have a nice kiddie pool, playground and shaded tables with adjacent street parking. Above average cute little park. I subtract a star for the men's toilet being locked midday and the lack of character/ambience. Recommended especially for parents with kids.

Relatively clean for the most part but from pictures I have seen from the other reviews, some of the weights are a little banged up. I am okay with this as long as it doesn't fall apart on me and the gym is kept clean, particularly the showers. I believe the premium we are paying for the gym is particularly for the cleanliness which after being at 24 hour fitness and la fitness, I understand how disgusting those places can be. Parking - Large parking lot - in the morning parking was pretty easy to park but I am sure this locations can get packed during the afternoon/night time.

I asked Rico if I could work in on the squat rack while he was doing a circuit of 4 exercises where 3 exercises were off of the squat rack. He told me no and threatened me saying that he knew I was the one who complained about him and he "DOESN'T CARE WHAT MANAGEMENT SAYS". For being 65 years old you would think he'd be more respectful of people and the rules of the place he works at. I'm not sure if there are different rules at the other gyms he trains people at, but I would expect he would follow Equinox's rules. **Update - Today I asked again to work in Rico on the squat rack and he again said no. He said he had 2 back to back clients where he was going to use the squat rack and I couldn't use it. He told me that the Equinox VP says he doesn't have to let anyone work in with him. He then threatened to get my membership revoked today and proceeded to call me childish for asking to work in. Rico proceeded to hog the platform squat rack for over an hour even though he was done using it with his 1st client so I couldn't squat on it. I don't understand why he's the ONLY Personal Trainer I've had threaten me multiple times and not let other paying members use equipment during busy times. Can someone please provide me with the corporate contact info if they have it?
