We did a couple days of the immersive class with her and after the second day she was laughing and loving every second with teacher Jackie. She loved it so much that after the end of the four day immersive classes (45minute 1:1s) she wanted to keep doing classes. So we signed her up for a few more 1:1s once a week. After a couple more of them, she was jumping off the deep end, floating, swimming back to the ledge and pulling herself out all by herself. The patience and joy teacher Jackie brought was worth every penny!

It was torture going there week after week seeing other kids advance and our guy stay at level 1. We took a big break from lessons until we found CC Swim Academy and Ali in particular, who is a fantastic instructor. Now, with two little ones, 5 and 3, we dove headfirst into lessons and they both progressed so quickly. Ali has taught them the building blocks of swimming and it was amazing to watch. They've now learned so much and Ali has made them really comfortable in the water. They jump in the pool, do flips, go on water slides, etc. All things that take confidence they learned from Ali.

If you have classes/credits in your account- USE them ASAP. Because they have an expiration date!…read moreWhen you purchase a group of sessions - they call them credits. Had I known this I would have not purchased the package swim classes and would have just opted to purchase them one at a time last year . However, as of April 2025 it seems like their website no longer allows for you to purchase one session at a time anyway. From a customer service standpoint no one reached out to us to let me know that my credits would be expiring and that I should book a class soon. So that's a bit of a turn off and a bummer. We live in Hermosa so it's a good 20-25 min drive from our house to get there each time. I'm going to have to rethink whether or not we should continue with them or just look for a closer alternative at this point, given their expiration policy. Seems like such a waste of money. As for the instructor , my daughter has the best rapport with Carissa. All of their instructors are good though.

My 6 year old son did about 30 lessons at Blake Swim School, twice a week for 15 weeks…read more Pros: - Heated pool - Parking in parking lot - Nice and knowledgable coaches - Decently clean facilities (as much as a it could be all considering) - App to track your classes that sends you notifications - 30 min classes (as opposed to Waterworks's 20 mins) Cons: - It gets crowded sometimes where there are 3 kids with 3 coaches in one lane - They sometimes need to change the time of your class if they get overbooked, but they ask you the day before and won't charge you for the cancelled class if you can't make the change. - Lots of different coaches, so my son didn't consistently get the same coach working with him but had about 8 different coaches during the 30 lessons. You can pay to have the same coach every time, but it's $10 more per lesson. Overall, I really liked Blake Swim School, and I definitely preferred it to Waterworks which we tried for a few months in Arcadia. The only things I would say is that at Blake, they really try to teach the kids how to swim properly as opposed to just water survival skills. So if you're just looking for someone to teach how to survive falling into a pool, this might not be the place. But if you want your kids to learn how to properly swim strokes, this is a great option!

Jeremiah has made our son feel comfortable, keeps him motivated and keeps lessons fun. We're sad to see him leave the program but wish Jeremiah the best. Thank you for helping our son learn to swim and foster a love for competitive swimming. Waterworks, in Downey, has recently hired more swim instructors. It is a busy location and before we were able to book with Jeremiah consistently, there was a problem of availability and instructors showing up. If you're able to find a date/time and instructor and keep up lessons with them, the program is fantastic, comparable in pricing and effective in their methods to teach others how to swim.

The instructors are very nice and polite, and my son completed 13 lessons. I tried to keep him with…read morethe same coach for consistency, but unfortunately, that coach missed a few sessions. Because of the limited availability of other instructors, I had to switch him to whoever was available. At one point, my son--who I believe is at a Level 2--was paired with a child who was on their very first lesson. I feel children should be grouped with others at the same skill level, as this impacts both learning pace and overall progress. Each time we switched instructors, the new coach essentially had to start over to get familiar with my son, which felt like a waste of both time and money. At this point, he is still unable to swim. I've reached the point where I'm now looking elsewhere for a private instructor. If your goal is for your child to truly learn how to swim, that may be the better route. In my experience, these programs can feel more focused on keeping you enrolled rather than ensuring real progress. When it comes to a child's safety, consistency and instructor availability are critical--and that's where this program falls short.
