We asked if he would finally take his test next week and they said he should swim in another pool to see if he would be comfortable swimming in different pools with his clothes on. A former instructor said to me the way they design the classes drags out the instructional period. I should do a week intensive course. I didn't want to believe it, but here we are 2 years later and my son still can't swim.

My daughter who is 6 enjoys her weekly sessions. I booked two classes back to back because it's just better for us for her to have longer times in the pool since we don't live close to this school. So far it has worked out great. I also like that the facility opened in September 2025 (which was when we first joined) so it's still new and things are still kept clean. I like that my daughter gets to swim with different instructors every now and then because I believe each one has their own techniques and way of swimming that might click for some kinds and not others. The only way to know is to actually try it! My daughter knows how to swim now but we still go here every week so that she can work on her form and technique. My 10 year old was too large and skilled for this swim school. Pool is shallow. I'd say target age range is 3-6, maybe? Mommie and me classes? Hard to find the entrance. It's set pretty far back as compared to the sporting goods, the mall or Marshall's, so you'd have a tough time seeing the entrance. Drive to the lot in between and Big Blue is in the rear of this sandwiched parking lot.

She loved it so much that after the end of the four day immersive classes (45minute 1:1s) she wanted to keep doing classes. So we signed her up for a few more 1:1s once a week. After a couple more of them, she was jumping off the deep end, floating, swimming back to the ledge and pulling herself out all by herself. We took a big break from lessons until we found CC Swim Academy and Ali in particular, who is a fantastic instructor. Now, with two little ones, 5 and 3, we dove headfirst into lessons and they both progressed so quickly. Ali has taught them the building blocks of swimming and it was amazing to watch. They've now learned so much and Ali has made them really comfortable in the water. They jump in the pool, do flips, go on water slides, etc. All things that take confidence they learned from Ali.

He's great with kids and it's incredible how he earns their trust in such a short amount of time. We started lessons because we wanted our son to be safe in the water -- by Day 5 he was able to jump into the pool and swim to the other end with no help. Had I known this I would have not purchased the package swim classes and would have just opted to purchase them one at a time last year . However, as of April 2025 it seems like their website no longer allows for you to purchase one session at a time anyway. From a customer service standpoint no one reached out to us to let me know that my credits would be expiring and that I should book a class soon. So that's a bit of a turn off and a bummer. We live in Hermosa so it's a good 20-25 min drive from our house to get there each time. I'm going to have to rethink whether or not we should continue with them or just look for a closer alternative at this point, given their expiration policy. Seems like such a waste of money. As for the instructor , my daughter has the best rapport with Carissa. All of their instructors are good though.
