Stoner park is great! If you go here you're bound to be active. They have indoor/ outdoor basketball courts, skate park, a playground, a pool and splash pad. There's also a baseball field. We had a good time celebrating a birthday with a picnic and then the splash pad. I'd definitely return for the pool. The huge slide wasn't open but I'm sure the kids would have a lot of fun. The splash pad isn't deep so it's fun and safe for the little ones.

Great small splash area for younger kids. Not a deep pool if you're looking for diving boards. But great just to swim around and play with your kids. Bathrooms are pretty kept up. Disappointed that the slide isnt up this summer, but it's understandable due to short staffing.

4:00 pm on a cool Saturday.

I like this place because it it near my West LA home and is $3.50 for adults and $1.00 for children. There is a nice mushroom water fountain in the main pool to offer shade from the sun and make things interesting there, and a nice and small water slide with separate landing pool as well. (The water slide is open intermittently.) Just know that there is no diving board and that it is not open on Sundays. Thanks for reading. Update: The deep end of the pool becomes restricted to swimming classes only an hour before the pool closes. Prepare accordingly for limited access, especially on busy days.

Two days after I got hypnotized to deal with my fear of deep water, I ventured to this pool for a little test drive of my newly tuned psyche. I could see that the pool was busy even before I saw that the parking lot didn't offer one single empty space. But a spot across the street was good enough, so I took it and ventured in. Adults with a library card cost $2, but it's been ages since I carried mine so I paid the non-discounted adult rate of $2.50. Kids and seniors get in free. A guy took my money and gave me an entry ticket at the window. The same ticket was taken from me to enter - by a girl sitting less than three paces from where I bought it. Interesting. She directed me to the changing rooms, and told me to shower before entering the pool. The outside shower, located in the shade, sprayed such cold water and with such sadistic pressure that I'm certain they use the same ones in County Jail. Maybe the excited kids (98% of the pool goers) don't notice because they're too excited to be here. Since my reason for being here was to get in the deep end, I walked around the whole pool searching for it. How could it be that hard to find? In utter confusion, I asked the lifeguard where the deep end was. And here's where the irony set in: He pointed at the 4 1/2 foot deep end, and said that was as deep as their pool went. AND that part was roped off for the next half hour because there was a (kids only) swim class going on. AND for some reason, the cool-looking curly water slide wasn't open - or was waiting for the swim teacher dude - and the line (all kids) was super long. Dammit!! Oh, and the only other (non-employee) adults there were clearly kids' parents/chaperones, so they must have been wondering what the hell I was doing there. Needless to say, I left. I guess all the negatives for me would equal positives for parents or children, except maybe the jailhouse shower pressure. But hey - it's never too early to deter your kids from a life of crime, so don't let my experience keep you from bringing your kids here. P.S. This pool is seasonal only, and closes around Labor Day.

You could post this on yelp? Made the drive now we have to wait. Not a very good welcome. We are siting outside waiting for you to open. Again and if you plan to stay while they open you have to pay again.

Large lap pool with flag markers on both ends. I was using goggles and was able to see that the pool was very clean. Lifeguards and other employees walking around watching what is going on. Some people were getting swim lessons. The lap swimmers I talked with were for the most part nice and into swimming. All the many lanes were were busy this Sunday and you shared them with 2 or 3 other swimmers. Shallow lanes are 3.5 feet and deep water lanes are 11 feet and have a diving board. Parking is free and easy a few steps from the entrance. It costs $1.00 for over 60 and $4.00 for under 60. Cash only. Negatives: The men's locker room and showers are acceptable, clean, but not nice. I brought my own lock and locked up my stuff in the locker. The shower was a bit too hot and you can't change the temps--it's set. I was told that some homeless come here just to take showers but they have to pay to get in like everyone--they just don't swim. There was one homeless guy with a couple of carry-on suitcases in the locker room getting dressed after his shower--didn't really bother anyone. I stopped in here a couple of weeks ago during the week just to look at the pool first in business attire. The woman at the front desk was very "snippy" and would not let me in to just look at the facilities for 5 minutes--kept asserting that "no tours" of the pool facility are allowed! She said, "Just look at pictures of the pool on the wall in the lobby!" So I then just suggested how about I pay to use to pool and I tour myself about for a few minutes. She grabbed my money, didn't give me a ticket and called a guy over to keep a watch on me while I walked into the locker room and pool area. The guy was very nice and answered a lot of my questions. There were only 3 people in the pool--very empty. She did leave a "bad taste" in my mouth. I can see having an "attitude" if I came in looking grubby, but I was dressed up with a white shirt and dress pants and shoes.

I…read morecame here with my daughter hoping for a relaxing afternoon of sun and pool time, and while it has potential, there were several limitations that made it less enjoyable than expected. Timing really matters here. It is best to come during off hours if you want any chance of getting a lounge chair to set your belongings down or take a break. When it is busy, seating is very limited and can get crowded quickly. The pool itself is not ideal for young children or anyone expecting a gradual entry. There is no graded or zero-depth entrance. Instead, you enter via a ladder directly into about four feet of water, with a rope separating this area from the deeper section. This setup may be fine for confident swimmers, but it felt less family-friendly than anticipated. Conversely, if you are looking to swim laps, this is not a lap pool. It is purely recreational. The changing and bathroom area is very open, and the showers offer no privacy. The shower water was also quite cold, which was not especially comfortable, particularly for kids. If you are expecting enclosed changing rooms or warm showers, this may be disappointing. Parking is public street parking only, paid at meters, which adds another layer of planning and cost. Overall, while the beach house is in a beautiful spot and can be enjoyable under the right circumstances, the lack of amenities, limited seating, and less-than-ideal pool and changing facilities make it hard to fully relax or recommend, especially for families with young children.

I'm not sure what that has to do with knowing how to use the equipment at the gym that you do in fact work at. The staff is the primary reason I decided to cancel my membership. They are simply bodies in a chair. They won't help, they don't say hello or greet you, they seem like they'd rather be anywhere else. They act like you're interrupting their personal conversation when you need to buy a water or ask literally anything. Cycling classes come and go without wiping the equipment. The cleaning standards here are 7/10. The best selling point here is the pool. It's nice to swim indoors, but there are only 3 lanes. Also, the cycling instructor, (Bernard I believe?) is the reason this gym gets a third star vs 1. Overall, the staff not knowing how equipment works, saying you're SOL when none of their bikes work, and being overall rude and unpleasant really kill the energy here more than I imagined. When I first signed up, I felt like it did not matter if the staff was rude- but here we are. I would rather pay less, knowing i'm going to get sub par service. If I'm going to pay almost $200, I would expect cleanliness and employees who know anything about the gym.
