My old dentist told me that the x-rays showed no signs of needing any further work, but I knew something was definitely needed because my pain was not going away. Eventually I ended up switching dentists, but they had the same opinion, at first. However, after a few appointments to attempt to solve the issue, they seemed to think a root canal was necessary when my pain persisted. My initial appointment with Citrus Endodontics was just for them to check it out, but they seemed to have the same opinion as everyone else - no evidence of a root canal being needed. But after an attempt to put new fillings in didn't help, I made another appointment here, thinking it was to have a root canal done. Unfortunately, they did some more tests and determined the same old story of nothing being needed. Finally, after an attempt to put a new crown on my tooth made my pain much worse, I made my third appointment here and they finally agreed that it was time to do the root canal. The root canal itself wasn't any more of an undertaking than most dental work I've had. For anyone who's never had one and just heard the horror stories, it's honestly not much different than getting a filling or a crown. You get numb and hold you mouth open for about half an hour and then they tell you that you're done. And after I went back to my regular dentist a week later to put the permanent crown on, I felt zero pain chewing on that side of my mouth for the first time in years. Success! But because I had to visit three times, I was a bit annoyed. I haven't been able to chew anything hard on the left side of my mouth for years and just wanted someone to perform a root canal on my problem tooth. I understand that they can't just start drilling away when someone says they have pain, but I wish me saying that I'd had 2+ years of pain would have carried a bit more weight.

When I was informed that I had to get a root canal done and I had to go to a different facility than my normal dental office I was very nervous. I came into this office on Tuesday for a consultation and they were able to fit me in for the following Tuesday to get the root canal procedure done. I suffer from high anxiety so I confirmed with them prior to the procedure that I can take an anxiety med to help calm my nerves while in the waiting room, one of the ladies at the front desk, Kasia, noticed how nervous and anxious I was, and she was so quick to relate to me and try to find a way to keep me calm and reassure me that she would make sure that I was taken care of. That meant so much to me because you don't get that a lot at offices they are so busy and so distracted a lot of times they aren't aware of how the patients are feeling. Then during the procedure, I was kind of hoping they would put me to sleep because this sounds of the machines don't help with my anxiety, but thankfully, with this office they provide you with these glasses that allow you to watch a movie while the procedure is being done. What I appreciated about this was a lot of offices although they have TV screens in the room to try and distract you a lot of times during the procedures they are in the way so you can't see the TV so you left closing your eyes and trying to breathe through everything that's going on, but by having the glasses, there was nothing disrupting my vision and I was able to have the sound on loud enough that the noise from the instruments didn't affect me. I would definitely encourage those who suffer from anxiety to take a chance at this office because I would for sure be going back myself if need be.

Dr. Grassin was honest and explained what he was seeing in my images and why he was seeing it. He answered all of my questions and calmed my nerves. He finished my front implant in March, and after my cleaning today, 10/17/19, he checked to be sure everything was good. Betsy is my hygienist and she is the best I have ever had. I've lost track of time, but it's been at least 11 years. She makes sure that I know exactly what to do to have good looking teeth, with no cavities. I follow her excellent advice which helps me love my smile. All of the staff is friendly, knowledgeable and professional. I've never had a problem at this office in the chair or with billing. I wanted the surgery because I had old, broken bridgework that was covering decay. It is a process that takes time, but I now have a healthy, decay-free mouth! I can talk and smile without covering my mouth from embarrassment. I did have the expected swelling, bruising, and some discomfort, but absolutely no pain. I took one pain pill on the first day as a preventative, but only needed OTC for a short time afterwards. The staff was friendly, encouraging, informative, and helped guide me through any concerns. Dr Hedger is the best and I really felt that he was as pleased with my end results as I was! Highly recommended!!
