So I was recommended by our normal dentist after our son had an accident. This doctor knows her stuff. She is doing everything f she can to salvage my sons front teeth from his accident and she does it so well with him. Tell him what she is doing and is gentle. read more

I needed a root canal, so my dentist referred me to Dr. Liwen Tao. I wasn't sure what I was in for, but Dr. Tao made me completely comfortable. I opted for the use of Nitrous(laughing gas) because I have a HUGE fear of dentists, so that really helped, but the procedure only took about an hour to an hour an a half. There was very little pain. She explained every step as she did it. Her assistant was also very helpful and kind. If I should have to have another in the future, this is where I would go. read more

I cannot express how wonderful Dr Tao and her staff are. I am on vacation when the pain set in. Called one Dentist (Dr. Hampte) who was very good and saw me the same day, but explained I had a fractured molar with a calcified nerve and he could not repair - referred me to Dr. Tao. I called and could not be seen immediately and set appt. They called me back and had a cancellation if I could make it that day. I did and no more needs to be said. My 3rd root canal. First with this Dr. Never had so much pain afterward. The pain lasted for days. My regular dentist postponed putting on permanent crown because I still still in agony days later. To add insult to injury 5 months later I get a bal due for $76. I paid the requested amount at time of visit. Can't imagine why the "estimate" would have been so far off and why it took 5 months for bal due to get to me. SO UNPROFESSIONAL!!!! So tempted to "lawyer up" and see how her malpractice insurance is. read more

Friendly! I was a referral from another dentist, so she knew I was getting a root canal on a front tooth. She explained what was going to happen, did her own cold test to verify that I did in fact need the root canal, and it was in & out within 30 minutes! I was seen right on time. Payment was talked about prior to the root canal being done (which I appreciate, so there's no surprises). She explained there might be some soreness, etc - but I must have gotten lucky, because 0 pain and 0 infection - which she mentioned might happen but gave me a prescription note anyway, just in case! read more

I had Dr S, the new associate. During his exam he confirmed I needed a root canal on number 5, but also said I would soon need one on number 4. Completed number 5 and I had almost no pain. A very good experience. My regular dentist confirmed that I would need number 4, when doing the crown in 5. Told me to get it done if it started to hurt. Didn't hurt much, but then a part broke off. Back to DrS for number 4. Again a not unpleasant experience. Pretty much pain free. I highly recommended this office. On both occasions I did not have to wait past the appointment time. I found them very efficient. My wife once worked for an endodontist and her dentist did a root canal for me also. Her guy was very highly regarded and I put my experience with Dr S right up there also. read more

Young male dr did some root canals. He was newly out of med school. To my misfortune he put too much bleach and I swallowed some. Needless to say my throat is very painful. He said they were short handed. Not only that but I lost that tooth. Poor outcome. read more

This was the worst experience I've ever had with an endodontis in all my years. I was there for a total of 10 minutes. 5 in waiting room, which was the only good thing about this place, 5 in the chair. I was told doing a root canal my tooth would likely break. Ok, thank you goodbye. Front desk says. " dont worry about a bill you were only here for a few minutes" Dr Tao had already consulted with my dentist and I was assured this procedure would be no big problem, and Dr Tao had no problem doing it...even tho she admitted that it would end up breaking...hmmm....why would you do that on a tooth that will break anyway??? $$$$$$$$$$$ fast forward 2 months I received a bill. I called about bill, 2 weeks later a very loud, boisterous " manager" calls me at 9am, yes I was asleep, and threatens to send the bill to collections because " Dr Tao did spend that 5 minutes with you " 5 minutes???? Seriously??? All about the $$$ now I see, doing procedures on wrong teeth....this is not a place where I would send anyone with a pulse. The office manager has a very mean mentality...over $63. They seem so friendly...till they get you in the back...my advice? RUN...FAR FAST FOREVER!!! Worst place I've ever been. I've since seen another endodontis on Tampa rd. I highly recommend Dr. Tao. I have been here several times over the last several years and its always been a good experience. The staff is very professional, the office has a very calming atmosphere and Dr Tao does a great job. I have had 3 root canals done by her and based on other people's experience with other doctors I was expecting a horrible experience - which was not the case at all. Had root canal in the past few years ago with Dr Tao, and just had a two teeth root canal last week It turned out that 2 teeth does not mean 2 roots. I had 2 canals in one tooth and this turned into 3 canals. Dr Tao made me as comfortable as possible. It was a very long procedure unexpected by both of us. She did not hurry my procedure even though she had other patients that needed her time too. Staff was extremely professional and patient with me. Root canal procedure is very stressful let alone 3 in one visit. She had no choice to do all three that day as I had to get back to my dentist to reapply the bridge that came off leaving a very decayed tooth that needed repair. Hope I never need a root canal again, but if I do Dr Tao will be the only doctor I will allow to work on me. She is the best. Follow up phone call the next morning checking on me and my well being.
