I came in nervous due to past nerve damage, but my root canal on molar 15 was completely pain-free--just very numb. One of the coolest touches? They gave me special glasses connected to an iPad so I could watch a movie during the procedure. It made the time fly by. Accessibility and cleanliness are clearly priorities here: there are two ADA parking spots to the left of the front stairs, and the restroom is spotless and even stocked with mouthwash. Reception personally followed up afterward despite some IT issues, which I really appreciated. Minimal pain after the procedure, excellent care throughout--highly recommend!

I am so happy that the Dr that was recommended was not available because Dr.Sainsbury was that amazing! He was so kind and reassuring. He answered all of my questions and put my mind at ease. As for the actual procedure it was a piece of cake! He numbed me really well. I had minor discomfort the day after but that is to be expected after any procedure. I would recommend Dr.Sainsbury to anyone needing dental work. Just an overall great experience.

These additions are approximately $200 total (in addition to your insurance copay) with little to no explanation beforehand. When I, unfortunately, needed one on a different tooth years later I went to a new endodontist = Dr. Mason at Westchase Endodontics. Because it was my 2nd root canal, I thought I knew what to expect - but this time was completely different than my first experience (in a good way). The office is spotless, the staff was very nice, and they have me detailed directions to find the office as it is located within a complex of similar looking buildings. What really blew my mind what how different the actual root canal was. Dr. Mason's dental assistant did the initial x-rays, then he came in for an exam. Before I knew it he was numbing me and started the procedure. I was shocked that it was over so quickly - and painlessly! I got in my car and called my husband to tell him how I couldn't believe how great I felt afterward (not perfect, but not in pain like in the past). I was waiting for the pain to hit me when I got home and the numbing medicine wore off - but it wasn't that bad. I took a few Advil, put some ice on my cheek for a while, and was fine. By the next day, I could hardly tell that I had a root canal the day before. It feels weird to say that I had a "good" experience with a root canal but I'm not sure how else to describe it. It was a world of difference from my first one, and I would never go to a different endodontist for a root canal! Dr. Mason's rates were not just competitive, they were about half the price of the last root canal I had done (and the other quotes I had obtained). We had the same dental insurance both times with the same coverage level, so the low price was because of Dr. Mason's rates. To top it off, a few months later I actually got a check in the mail refunding part of my fee!!! Seriously! After processing my dental insurance they were reimbursed more than anticipated by the company and refunded me the difference - amazing! When my husband needed an emergency root canal I made sure he went to Dr. Mason, and he had the same type of experience I did (so my experience wasn't unusual). Both times when I had to book appointments with Dr. Mason, they were able to get me in by the next day - which is great when you are in pain. I cannot recommend Dr. Mason and Westchase Endodontics enough. Hopefully, you will never need their services, but if you do find yourself needing a root canal in the future, make sure you try Dr. Mason first.

After receiving excellent care from my previous dentist for several years I was forced to change…read moredentist due to my new insurance plan. I chose to visit Dr. George Kostakis, DDS since his practice accepted my plan and his general ratings were quite good. Upon my first visit he told me that I needed 4 new fillings, a crown replaced and a wisdom tooth pulled. This was a total shock. My former dentist was always thorough, professional and I was up-to-date on all needed dental work. This news was a warning sign for me that should have heeded me. Was Dr Kostakis overly zealous? Did he need new patients? In retrospect this reminds me of the car shop that "finds" needed(?) repairs on your vehicle. For budget reasons, I agreed to letting him do only 2 fillings and perform the rest later. After the procedures I was told that I needed to pay extra because my insurance plan did not cover everything. So,I did. I wondered about these extra fees so I reached out to my insurance company directly. I was informed that I had paid too much and that a refund from the dentist was necessary. I contacted his office several times asking for this reimbursement. It took awhile for him to respond. In one of his email replies Dr. Kostakis wrote: " the insurance company sets up phony barriers to block you from using the benefits, while the insurance company collects your premium money, I am in the business to keep people healthy, they are there to make profits" and "I am not refunding money that was honestly earned by repairing your teeth. If you think the insurance company will respond, ask THEM for a refund. And tell them they need to explain YOU their policies more completely." So, I contacted my insurance. They responded and reached out to Dr. Kostakis and explained their policies to HIM more completely and urged HIM to refund me the sum. Which he reluctantly did...but only partially!

This location is about 3 blocks from my home so makes it super easy to go there on a lunch break and they are also easy to get an appointment with. My last place was about 6 months out for scheduling which is not okay when you need to get in to get work done. I can generally get an appointment the same week or the following which is great. The doctor is super sweet and reviews everything going on during your visit. My weight time has been limited within the office as well. It is nice to go to a smaller practice where they remember you by name and the details of previous conversations and even your other family members (or boyfriend).

His hygienist who pretended to clean my teeth was completely out of it, I seriously thought she was drugged, and she spent about 15 minutes max on them. I'd been going to Caputo for a while so on my last visit, I told him again about the same pain, and he checked the x-rays came back as white as a sheet, & told me my teeth were fine, I knew my teeth were not fine, so I went to an expert at another practice, who said I had major problems. In fact, in the exact area that Caputo claimed was fine. I Had three dead teeth thanks to the incompetent work of endodontists in South Tampa. They cracked three of my teeth. Those three had to be extracted, and I needed implants, not by Caputo, of course since he can't be trusted, and had just lied to me, but by another dentist. Evidently Caputo did not want to do the work, so he pretended I was fine when that was definitely not the case. I don't know how these guys, who blatantly lie to patients, keep their license. And unfortunately, I referred a family member to the fraud Caputo, he did dental implants for her & now the work is going bad and will need to be redone for a LOT of money.
