It was a totally pleasant and professional experience…read more Stacey was our Sales Consultant. Even though our 1st appointment was on a beautiful Saturday summer afternoon with Stacy - - we were late (I-95 . . . enough said), but she was great. She went over the cars available - - we were looking for a certified used car, probably a RAV4 since my wife had owned one for the past 10 years or so. COVID and the supply chain issues have not been easy on the dealerships, but the cars they had were of quality. After going to check the stock again, she came out and asked if my wife would be interested in a Ruby RAV4 just off of lease - - "Red." Stacey said. Oh brother, I thought because my wife is tired of white or green cars; we had even had a discussion a few days back that we'd like to have a redish-maroon car. As soon as I saw it, I said to myself - - SOLD!!! My wife drove it. When she got back from the test drive, my wife was forever "Poker Faced". In fact, Stacey kept asking her what her thoughts were. Finally, I told Stacey that we'd be back on Monday morning. We took the information she gave and left - - but I knew that my wife wanted that car. When we got home, we did some research. The Ruby RAV4 was leased and serviced from Lorensen Toyota. Great for us because my wife had bought two cars previously from them and our daughter had bought one years ago; moreover, my wife always brought her cars there to service and has always been pleased . . . so being a Lorensen Lease/Service car was a major plus. Sunday morning, we decided to swing out to Lorensen's Toyota (when they were closed and no one was around) to walk the lot to and compare cars - - but really . . . I wanted to let her look at the Ruby RAV4 one more time. Despite listing options 1, 2, 3 . . . deep inside I knew she wanted the one she test driven. Monday came and as we drove toward the dealership, my wife asked - - is it still there. Yep. Does it have a sold sign on it? Nope. We made the deal. Thanks Stacey!!! We did our financing through the dealership. Tony was the best ever - - the BEST EVER!!! I can recommend both Stacey and Tony 100%. Let me tell you the best part of dealing with both Tony and Stacey. We talked and learned about each other - - where we were from, food, and life in general. It wasn't just a deal between seller and buyer. It was so personal and caring. Like the "good old days". Give them a chance - - we love them.

I purchased a used camry and a Platinum service plan from Westbrook Toyota. I feel lucky to have…read morefound such a great car and the purchase experience was without complaint. In fact, I had no complaints at all until 7 months and only 4,000 miles later when I found myself with a dead battery with my 3 yr old grandson in the car. Car batteries do not last forever and I do not have unrealistic expectations. My complaint developed when I noticed the battery sticker date was Feb 2019, which means that I purchased a car with a more than 7 yr old battery, after being told upon purchase that the car was just thoroughly serviced and wouldn't need any service until an oil change at 10,000 miles, outside of unexpected issues like a flat tire. I drove the 25 miles to Westbrook, thinking that the service dept would acknowledge what I assumed was an oversight, and install a battery for perhaps cost. I was charged more than $300 for a new battery and only had Westbrook install it because I needed the car first thing in the morning and didn't have time for my husband to get a battery and install. I wanted my story heard and followed up with numerous calls to various managers, including the General Manager. I was extremely disappointed in the customer service that followed, with promises not fulfilled and calls not returned. Eventually, I was reimbursed $100 by Westbrook. I still am happy with the car, which is what is most important, and I would consider buying again from Westbrook if they have a car that interests me. I do hope that the General Manager reads this as a way to improve his business. Customer service, which includes listening to the customer, following through with promises, and doing what is fair and right, is what makes a good business great. This was a costly learning experience for me.

I shipped my 2010 Ford Ranger XLT here because of it's high milage to avoid any possible breakdown on the 3,000+ mile drive here. One evening while filling her up, another patron was commenting on what beautiful shape my truck was in and I mentioned that I was looking to get it undercoated before winter set in, and he directed me to M&M Motors for that, as well as anything else I might need 'cause the shop is the best in the area. Long story short and after reading all the 5-star reviews on YELP! I went in and spoke to "Mack", one of the 2 owners about my pride and joy. That was about a year ago, and I have to say, that this shop is one of [if not] the very best all around mechanical repair shop i have ever had the pleasure of doing business with in the 65+ years I've been driving every sort of automobile you can imagine. Mack and his brother Mike, and their crew have fulfilled my every need and are just the best in every sense of the word when it comes to everything automotive . . . I DO NOT EXAGERATE ! ! ! And, as a matter of fact, They also operate a totally legitimate used car business across the street from the repair shop, catering to the general public and their own clientele. There is not enough room on this YELP page to even begin to describe what these people can and will do to effect any repair you need, or find the automobile of your dreams. They conduct their business, and themselves by what I call the "3-R"s . . . Reliable, Responsible, and Reasonable!!! P.S. This year I purchased an absolutely beautiful 2020 Volvo XC60 SUV for my wife from M&M Motors. (Which she loves.) We couldn't be happier.

I first started speaking with Seth in September 2021, and he was willing to hold the car that I wanted to buy for more than a reasonable amount of time, with only a $200 deposit! Unfortunately, I had to leave for the West Coast unexpectedly shortly after my great find. I informed Seth of my circumstances and he was beyond understanding, he called and left me a voicemail shortly thereafter to obtain my card # to refund my deposit, and, well, life happened and I forgot all about the deposit until yesterday, January 11, 2022 (4 MONTHS LATER!). Not only was Seth quick to get back to me, but was just as pleasant to speak with and work with even knowing that I still wasn't a "closed deal". It is rare to find [honest] "used car salespeople", but rest assured that Saybrook Auto Barn is not a great resource to find amazing deals on used cars, be they are extremely helpful and courteous on all fronts, and services they provide for their customers. I highly recommend giving them a go when you're on the hunt for a used car! THANK YOU AND SAYBROOK AUTO BARN, AGAIN, SETH!

VERY NEGATIVE EXPERIENCE…read more I walked in told John the vehicle I was interested in. The first item he wanted was my registration to my car I was trading in. Then he gives me the keys to the car I planned on buying and said you can look at it but you cant drive it! They stated the trade was low because of the interior. The interior had a missing leather piece from the gear box. My seats were fine and they stated all of my interior was in poor condition. John didn't even let me drive the car I was interested in. He was more concerned with gathering my personal information. I should have stopped him and walked out but I didn't. John only concentrated on the negative and not being positive about the car buying process. The employees at the showroom not very friendly, no one said Good Morning. Lastly, while leaving trying to make a cup of coffee - Keurig - and it wasn't working. There was another customer helping me, still wasn't working. The receptionist just staring out the window. I just could not wait to leave that place and annoyed at myself for not just walking out. Buyer beware!

One older Kia to keep Or trade in And the need to have two vehicles when all was said and done We visited the showroom and met Madison (Maddie) Barfield, our Customer Advocate (they don't call them salespeople, and they don't pay commission) last Saturday. She's incredibly knowledgeable and capable, and knows the Kia line and many features very well. We spoke about our needs and expectations, and we ended up looking at a number of vehicles. The gas Sportage didn't get great mileage, the Hybrid was a little more expensive but nearly 50% better mileage, and the plug in hybrid (we thought) was too expensive and required plugging in. But what about the whole issue of still carrying two payments, including one on an older car that was approaching it's 5 year/60 k warranty limit (power train is good to 10/100k at Kia) We started talking about purchasing a second vehicle for our student...the K4 was the perfect blend of style, function, and price for a graduate, right? Maddie introduced us to Bill LeConche, the GM, and he had some ideas... We drove the gas. We drove the HEV, we drove the K4. (Kia has such a great selection of quality vehicles and excellent warranties it's difficult to walk off the lot not seeing something that meets your needs) Maddie continued to assist, answering a ton of questions about functionality (the electronics on these things are amazing), and retrieving different vehicles to check out. Bill crunched the numbers. We had a long chat about the difference between PHEV and HEV. With available incentives, rebates, State programs, the PHEV Sportage became more manageable. And you don't HAVE to plug in. We had an answer! PHEV for us, K4 for our son. But wait, says Bill - what about an SUV for him? Huge style change, but if the numbers work, maybe? The point is, Maddie and Bill worked really hard for this deal. They worked up perhaps 10 different scenarios. They were polite and supportive the entire time. We ended up leaving there tonight (6 days after the journey started) with two brand new PHEV Sportages and trading in the Sorento. It just made sense, and Kia OS helped us see that. Taras Pashchak, the Finance guy, completed all the paperwork for two deals simultaneously. Everyone knows buying a car is like getting a root canal - time consuming, painful, and takes forever (with multiple visits just to add to the fun). The crew at Kia OS did a great job in asking the right questions, meeting our needs, and thinking outside the box. Yes, it still took a while, and multiple visits, but it wasn't painful - it was a great experience. Keep in mind, deals vary tremendously. Ours may not be yours. But they will make it work for YOU.
