Being licensed, they put a modern twist on the traditional fish and chip shop and also have a more family friendly eating in experience. In fact they pride themselves on having 'alfresco dining'. The food is much better than others in the area. I am a bit partial to crumbed fish and theirs is delicious. They also have platters, burgers, salads, seafood sticks, calamari and of course chips. You can get 6 pieces of fish and chips for under $30 which is pretty good value in my book. Overall, the dine in experience is miles better than most fish and chip places and the food is on par.

There is two areas to eat consisting of a cafe and a casual restaurant. The restaurant serves typical pub grub aimed at value for money. I decided to give the chicken "parmy" a crack, to satisfy my pub grub cliche meal. The chips weren't overly crunchy (chip fiend) and the ham and cheese topping on the chicken didn't punch me in the face with excitement. However, the chicken was cooked well and was the highlight of the dish. In closing, it's is standard fare and isn't really a venue to break your neck for. Food 5/10 service 7.5/10 decor 6.5/10

My partner had scotch fillet, which was a somewhat decent size, the veg however was atrocious. Literally everything had been chucked in a giant pot and boiled to oblivion, the beans, squash and asparagus were squishy and bland. Tables are very tightly packed where we were sitting but maybe that was because we were in a group.. Both steak meals were around the 28-35 dollar mark and had the option of chips and salad or mash potato, but honestly that's a bit of a rip off for what you get.

My kids (who are exceptionally fussy eaters) absolutely love the Hor Tong (Golden Parcels), these are little deep fried pastry parcels filled with minced pork, crab meat, prawns, water chestnuts and bamboo shoots - they get gobbled up very quickly in my house. A meal for a family of four will cost around $40, this includes an entree and two mains (mains are around $16 each). We went to this thai restaurant having ordered takeaway from there a couple of times and we've been happy with the quality of the food previously, but never eaten in the restaurant itself. We decided to head down and eat inside. The interior has a nice thai feel about it. The decor is pretty standard thai restaurant decor. We chose one of the set menus where you get entrees, main and dessert. Sadly, the experience was not very good. The food while somewhat tasty, was extremely oily and prohibitively expensive. The price tag definitely doesn't match the quality of the food that we were served. Mains start around $20, we did the set menu and it was $27 per person which is seemingly good value. You get a lot of food, but it was extremely oily and overcooked. The seafood stirfry we got, the scallops were overcooked and the prawns were as well. Disappointing. There was only one other group in the restaurant, but it took forever to get our food. The guy even gave a couple of our meals to the other table. He did apologise, but he kept making mistakes and was more concerned with takeaway orders than us. They also forgot our dessert as well until we reminded them. All in all it took about 2 hours, we had a crying baby with us as well. The service was horrendous. With much better options in the area like the neighbouring Indian restaurant and Portabella, they really need to up their game for dine-in orders.

If you want to eat in, you eat on the tiny deck; it's pretty intimate, and quite pretty at night, or you can get takeaway of course. Well, the prices are pretty decent, although serving sizes are a little small, so that balances it out. But why two stars? I ordered honey chicken and fried rice. It's about the only Chinese food i'll eat, but sometimes I really crave it. The honey chicken was not great. Pretty bland really. The fried rice... well you could taste the lashings of MSG, and not much else. I now feel sick, and will be throwing out the leftovers I had planned to take for lunch tomorrow. It gets more than one star because I think the balcony is pretty at night.
