I started going to West View Barber Shop in the fall of 2017, shortly after I moved here. I consider myself lucky to have found them because I haven't looked elsewhere ever since! Rachel is the lady that usually does my cut which involves a fade with a hard part lately. I have also had my hair cut by both Kayla and Kayla and a gentleman named Joe. They are all very kind and professional. They all do their jobs with expert precision and care and seek out feedback to ensure that your experience has met your expectations. The vibe is just what I look for in a barber shop: good conversation, reasonable prices, even cold refreshments. They have televisions available but I hardly notice as I'm quite the chatterbox and all of the staff are friendly. I have recommended this place to both friends and family. Shop is under new management, I Recently had a surprise wedding invite pop up and needed appointment quick. The last time I had haircut this bad was when I was 6 and my 8 year old brother cut my hair. Absolutely worst haircut I ever had. Will never return. read more

Extremely impressed. First off, lots of parking. The shop appeared very clean. I called in advance for an appointment and they got me right in the chair. My barber was Rachel. She was professional, courteous and very easy to talk to. Rachel's haircut was on point. She paid attention to detail and didn't miss a hair. She's a master! For years, I had a hair stylist I trusted. I followed her from several different businesses to (eventually) her own home business. Her prices were always unbelievably low, too. But then I moved, and driving nearly an hour to get my hair cut wasn't feasible. As my hair got shaggier, I did some research. I wanted to find a place that was easy to get to on my way home from work. There were a fair number of places that were well-reviewed north of Pittsburgh. On my drive to work, though, I passed a tiny barber shop in West View called, amazingly, West View Barber Shop. It fit my criteria. The recent reviews were go. And it seemed like a steal. I stopped their this past week and, thankfully, my really high expectations were surpassed. I know little about this history of this place, but it seems like West View Barber Shop came under new management a few years ago. Seems like a woman-owned business, which I love, and wow--their staff is fantastic! That they were fast and affordable is great, but what I really care about is the actual cut. I'm so happy with the cut I got. My hair does some weird things, so the fact that they took the time to ask questions makes me happy. Plus, there was such an upbeat vibe in the shop. Stopped here yesterday on my way home from work. Best haircut I've had in years. I usually go to Sportsclips but decided to give this place a shot after my nephew told me about it. Alicia was professional, friendly and quick! You could tell she has experience and I knew I wasn't going to get a jacked up cut. I'll be back - especially since she gave me a loyalty card. I've more recently moved to West View, I love it in my new neighborhood and was looking for a local barbershop. It was so easy to schedule an appointment online and West View Barber shop was exactly what the doctor ordered! I met with Joseph that Saturday after waiting less than ten minutes. He is an excellent barber - throughout the process he knew what to ask - made sure to inquire how I usually wore my hair, all while making this new customer feel completely comfortable throughout the experience. I have been cutting my own hair since 1991 and after this experience I going back to a barbershop for life. I highly recommend this impressive business!! read more

So now I learn from relating this experience that the portly "barber" and I use that term loosely here, apparently cut a divot in the upper back of my head. I think this calls for a complaint to be filed with the Better Business Bureau to protect the public from this underhanded abuse to customers. I just had my haircut at this place. The barber was very kind and did an absolute excellent job. Straight razor haircut, most places do not have true legitimate barbers now. I've been on active duty in the Marine Corps for over 10 years. I have had to get my haircut done once a week for 10+ years, this barber gave me a haircut worth paying for. Worst haircut ever. Went to get trim for my sister's funeral and got a two-minute shearing with a big divot taken out of the side of my hair. Then got charged $15 for the pleasure. Will never go back. read more
