He saved as much hair as he could; he didn't get 'razor happy' which I greatly appreciated. Furthermore, he took the time to shape up my edges and he charged me about $20. In November 2016, I came back with medium-length natural hair to get my ends trimmed, and she did an excellent job. Again, she wasn't 'scissor happy'; she took off exactly what needed to come off. She even told me that my ends weren't that bad, but I might have been shedding to the dye in my hair. She twisted my hair as she trimmed it allowing me to leave the salon with full body. She charged me $18, which wasn't bad. Whenever I need something else, I'll return to this salon to see if they can work more magic.

Yesterday was my first time visiting McGuinn's, but I already consider myself a lifetime customer. This is the best haircut I've ever gotten. I told Ken what I wanted -- Pretty much what I have now, except shorter -- and he totally got it. I once heard this music critic talk about the drummer for AC/DC. He said something like, "People say Phil Rudd is too simplistic, but the reality is he's a master of restrain. He only hits whatever is necessary for the music in that moment." Most barbers can't seem to resist the temptation to take off a little extra, but Ken is like the barbershop version of Phil Rudd. He's an artist who only takes off what is necessary, and working with the shape of your head and the character of your hair to bring out your best look. read more
