I have used West Side Service for almost 25 years and I'm happy to tell you what a great place to get your auto repaired. Last week my wouldn't start and I called my auto emergency for help. Sam came and tried to start my car with no luck. I decided to have it towed to West Side Service and as Sam was trying to load it some rust fell off the underside. I told him to tow it over to WSS and let Mary take a look. Within 20 minutes I got a call from Mary saying the undercarriage was so rusted that they'd never get it on the hoist. In the meantime, Sam said he'd take it to his place and Mary told him No! She knew I had personal items that I'd want to get out of the car and Sam told her I could come get them at his business which was stupid because he's on 32nd Street. She immediately called me while he was standing there and told me what he wanted to do. I told her no way and she told him no, again, while she was on the phone with me. She said she didn't trust him and he was up to something. That was good enough for me and I told her to do whatever she thought best. He did leave without my car and when she called me back she said if I could get her my title she'd call a couple of scrap places and get it sold. My son got all my stuff out and left my title. She called later to tell me she not only sold it but got one place to up the price by $25.00. This is why I love and trust this place. They always do the right thing by their customers. I had no reservations about letting Mary handling selling my car because she and her employees are so honest. I was out of town and selected this business to preform a pre purchase inspection for me. I showed up an hour and a half early, greeted by a nice man (David) I think. He assured me they would look at it asap. While waiting I realized that this place was a gem. David literally knew every customer by name, he ran out a washed the window of an elderly customer while they were gassing up. I couldn't believe the quality of the service. My inspection was finished and I was walking around the area. Mary called and said there were some thing they had to show me. I quickly returned to the shop. Al the mechanic had printed out a inspection report and went over all items explaining costs, conditions and conclusions. Awesome service. Dropped our Nissan Murano off at 2:30 on a Wednesday for some AC repair and to get a rattle fixed. Our appointment was for Thursday AM. They called by 4:30 Wednesday afternoon and had the part and said we could pick it up that evening. Fixed everything we needed. Mary and the guys are great. They know their stuff, but are not above learning something new from their customers. Dave and the other mechanics are up on the latest things and can explain in simple terms what you need and why. They don't try to sell you something you don't need.
