The Kitchen…read more I tried some of the sparking berry lemon drink, which was perfectly sweetened and delicious! It was beautiful in color and the fresh lemon in it made it look even better. It was extremely refreshing and would pair well with nearly any drink. I ordered the veggie plate, see picture below. I asked for it to be made vegan of course! I unfortunately can't remember the exact name of the dish because i can't find a full menu online. This dish was extremely delicious! All of the vegetables were fresh and nothing was too salty. If anything it tasted a little on the bland side in terms of saltiness. But I loved it!!!! This dish truly made me feel as if I was nourishing my body with wholesome pure foods. See pictured a wrap as well, which I also don't know the name to. However, I didn't try this dish. So I can't speak of the taste of it. I recommend checking out the museum attached to this restaurant because it's FREE and has great history of Ireland! I loved this entire center center and am so happy with the plethora of vegan options all around!

And it only cost €9.70... I rest my case. Service was excellent too - they did bring out a chicken wrap by mistake but rectified it very quickly with plenty of apologies. If you manage to nab a table outside, you'll have a fine view of the Spanish Arch and the Corrib River - and then walk your meal off at the adjoining fantastic Galway museum!

Rich, creamy with nice chunks of fish. I opted for a veggie main - Mediterranean quinoa - which hit the spot. It was fresh, light and flavoursome. I quite enjoyed the breaded slice of tofu. I would have liked more than one slice! My companions had the steak which they raved about and also the smoked hake which was good too. We had a 500mL carafe of red wine. I loved that they offer this as an option rather than ordering a full bottle! Our waitress was friendly and did a great job. Definitely worth stopping by if you're in Galway. It's not the most innovative menu but the food is consistent and you won't be disappointed!

I recently had dinner at Vina Mara and had a fine enough evening, but was not wowed by the place. I…read morethink that things were colored by the fact that there was a large hen party taking over half the restaurant, which made it quite loud and busied up the staff a bit too much. Our food came out quickly enough, and I have to say that my 'Connemara Lamb Journey' was nothing to write home about. The portion was reasonable, but the lamb was not cooked to my liking (overdone, generally) and the cauliflower puree was lumpy and disappointingly flavorless. However, my dining companion's roasted baby monk fish with chorizo and cannellini bean cassoulet was fabulous. So, perhaps I just ordered the wrong thing? I don't like to base reviews off of one meal, but I don't think I'd be bothered to try Vina Mara again given the expense of the first experience (nearly €70, including a half bottle of wine, two mains and nothing else).

It is therefore without asking me many questions that I select the restaurant No. 1 on TA in Enniscrone. The cocktails are quite rustic, with pieces of broken ice that make the tasting difficult and some small ice balls that get stuck in the straw. The taste is not exceptional. The Killary mussels with Italian Pinot Gris, shallots, garlic cream and lemongrass are superb. A simple dish but well seasoned. The shrimps were largely over fried 30 seconds. The breading is too brown. The legend of Enniscrone's black pork makes a dish with a filet mignon. Unfortunately, even if it tastes good, this one is a bit dry. The accompaniments are a bit rustic. The parmesan mussels are good but something acid I do not know what spoiled the dish. The beer bread is a marvel. Cheesecake pretty good but the glazing is completely missed, completely dull. The last bad point will be for the wine list which is composed of bottles too weak for the pretended status. I first choose a Pinot Noir from New Zealand which was not "open". The waitress then guides me with confidence towards a Chilean Malbec which turns out disastrous. We get back to Pinot Noir ... To summarize, this is a restaurant whose chef has skills but lack perfection on many points of detail. It's a shame because it is an establishment that has certain pretensions in terms of decor and service. Bill of 111 euros for 2.
